A great menu and delicious local ingredients served by friendly staff. Cosy bar/dining area, and stayed very comfortable room in adjoining building. Wine list extensive, if on the expensive side. Its a lovely village and great base for exploring the Cotswolds.

The property was beautifully quaint and 16th Century with beams, a lovely pub and gorgeous dining area. The food was very good and the breakfast, both the cooked and the cold breakfast. The only problem was the steep stairs but nothing you can do about that as the property is so old. Overall a charming place.

The Lamb Inn was the perfect spot for our first visit to the Cotswolds. Quiet location with great outdoor eating and fantastic pub. Service was amazing and welcoming. Our room was small but very well appointed and had a rustic look with stone and a huge fireplace.

Beautiful place, and in a lovely location. Buried nearby which is a lovely chocolate box picturesque town.. pub/hotel was lovely, very lively in the evening, but super quiet once the pub closed for the rooms above! Continental breakfast was great, I also had a sausage sandwich which was crammed with loads of local sausages!

Quaint rooms, comfortable bed. Upgraded to super king room with roll-top bath. Food was amazing in atmospheric pub. Loved coming down to see the fire first thing in the morning. Our dog was given a really warm welcome, which was lovely.

Very nice old country pub, quaint, charming. Pub was nice, lots of locals. Wood fires were good. Walls are a little thin so we could hear noise and music from the bar ( but that shut down by 10:45). Rooms at the other end could have been offered as quieter. We had the included cold breakfast which was fine. Hot breakfast looked good.

This was an excellent choice. One never knows when booking just what one will find. But the Lamb Inn has been superb in every way. It is very well run by a small staff who were welcoming and friendly. The building is beautiful as is its position and our room was just great. Both nights we ate in the restaurant which was packed by a mixture of locals and visitors and the food was good The included breakfast was of the continental variety although one could order cooked breakfasts at an additional cost. The provided breakfast was fine although some cheese would have been pleasant I have only one gripe which is daft really but the shower base was very smooth and slippery and all one had to do was be aware Overall full marks for The Lamb Inn, Shioton under Wychwood It’s position roughly equi distant from Burford and Chipping Norton makes it an ideal base to discover the delights of the Cotswolds

The inn itself is very pleasant and full of character. But the room was extremely small …like living in a box with shower and toilet. It was a two night stay and the room was not serviced. Would not stay here again.

Clean , unusual quality furniture beds good size room. The here was a choice at breubut slightly misleading you had to pay for cooked. As this a very old building wouldn't be for those who have trouble with stairs or unsteady on feet. Staff all really lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again

Perfect country inn - lovely room , clean , lovely products . Extremely comfy bed ! Delicious food - wood fired pizzas , garlic sauce and green salad . The most delicious panna cotta and apricots for pud . Husband loved the local Hooky beer. Breakfast - yoghurt and delicious granola , fruit , croissants , delicious coffee . Beautiful village and 5 mins from Burford . Picked this pub as a stop off for trip to see daughter in Cornwall - made a huge difference to a long drive , just perfect

Room was clean but as we were in a heatwave it was very hot even though they had provided a fan we could not stay in the room for long. Breakfast was cereals, toast, jams dried fruits with natural yogurt the only downside was they could have provided better selection of pastries I would have been happy paying a bit more. We did have a meal in the evening which was very tasty and reasonably priced we come again

MISLEADING: Omitting Essential Information When booking through Expedia, there was no indication that the rooms lacked air conditioning. This is a critical omission, especially considering the high temperatures during our stay in June. Upon arrival, we found the rooms unbearably hot, particularly on the second floor, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. We resorted to using wet, cold washcloths on our foreheads in an attempt to cope with the heat. Due to these uninhabitable conditions, we had no choice but to check out after the first night, forfeiting the second night of our stay. This was not a matter of preference but of necessity, as the room conditions were not as advertised and did not meet basic comfort standards. The lack of air conditioning should have been clearly disclosed prior to booking as it is a misrepresentation and intentionally omitting essential information.

The hotel itself was beautiful, the staff were warm and welcoming. We stayed on a Wednesday which is steak night so if you want a meal there make sure you book first as it was very busy. It was also a bit pricey .Went for a lovely Country walk for an hour or so around the area till it got dark. Only down side was breakfast. I only book a hotel where breakfast is included but here you only have cold breakfast (which was ok & good choice) but if you want hot food or a good old fry up, you have to pay extra. When I asked how much extra they said it depends on what you want. I feel this should have been made clear when booking. It was misleading! Only other down side was we were in room 1 and we could hear the hand dryers in the toilets below us constantly till late in the evening but not that much of a big deal.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. There was a fault with the fire alarm on our first night that woke us at 1am and we had to evacuate but the staff were so apologietic for the issue and provided amazing service.

When we arrived we checked into room 2 at no point was we made aware how noisy this room was. as it is above the busy restaurant. By 9pm we had had enough of the noise and asked to move to a different room ? We then move to room 7 which was a lot smaller than the room we booked a big downgrade in the morning the water was too cold to have a wash or shower ? Also the fire alarm was activated on three different occasions waking us up each time on the first time I called down to reception and asked what was going on. Do we need to evacuate the hotel? I was told no it is an issue with the fire alarm in the bar, I said to the lady are you aware of the fire process and you need to make all residents aware that this is a thoughts activation? I suggest you knock on every door and tell them which she did they should not need me to tell your staff the process for a fire alarm? I would suggest some training

Really enjoyed our stay here staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean but as we were in a heatwave it was very hot even though they had provided a fan we could not stay in the room for long. Breakfast was cereals, toast, jams dried fruits with natural yogurt the only downside was they could have provided better selection of pastries I would have been happy paying a bit more. We did have a meal in the evening which was very tasty and reasonably priced we come again

This was an excellent choice. One never knows when booking just what one will find. But the Lamb Inn has been superb in every way. It is very well run by a small staff who were welcoming and friendly. The building is beautiful as is its position and our room was just great. Both nights we ate in the restaurant which was packed by a mixture of locals and visitors and the food was good The included breakfast was of the continental variety although one could order cooked breakfasts at an additional cost. The provided breakfast was fine although some cheese would have been pleasant I have only one gripe which is daft really but the shower base was very smooth and slippery and all one had to do was be aware Overall full marks for The Lamb Inn, Shioton under Wychwood It’s position roughly equi distant from Burford and Chipping Norton makes it an ideal base to discover the delights of the Cotswolds

The hotel itself was beautiful, the staff were warm and welcoming. We stayed on a Wednesday which is steak night so if you want a meal there make sure you book first as it was very busy. It was also a bit pricey .Went for a lovely Country walk for an hour or so around the area till it got dark. Only down side was breakfast. I only book a hotel where breakfast is included but here you only have cold breakfast (which was ok & good choice) but if you want hot food or a good old fry up, you have to pay extra. When I asked how much extra they said it depends on what you want. I feel this should have been made clear when booking. It was misleading! Only other down side was we were in room 1 and we could hear the hand dryers in the toilets below us constantly till late in the evening but not that much of a big deal.

The Lamb Inn was the perfect spot for our first visit to the Cotswolds. Quiet location with great outdoor eating and fantastic pub. Service was amazing and welcoming. Our room was small but very well appointed and had a rustic look with stone and a huge fireplace.

Beautiful place, and in a lovely location. Buried nearby which is a lovely chocolate box picturesque town.. pub/hotel was lovely, very lively in the evening, but super quiet once the pub closed for the rooms above! Continental breakfast was great, I also had a sausage sandwich which was crammed with loads of local sausages!

The property was beautifully quaint and 16th Century with beams, a lovely pub and gorgeous dining area. The food was very good and the breakfast, both the cooked and the cold breakfast. The only problem was the steep stairs but nothing you can do about that as the property is so old. Overall a charming place.

Poor selection of food, noisy restaurant and bar drinks were also poor. Adequate accommodation for the price and breakfast was also poor quality. We think it’s a pub/hotel run by the village leased from Green King, overall a poor choice.

I took my partner on a last minute night away for his birthday. We had a room and had dinner in the restaurant which was divine. The bed was very comfortable and they had all toiletries including shampoo and conditioner. We both really enjoyed our stay and my partner said it was the best night sleep he has had in a long time.

Beautiful, quintessential Cotswold pub, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome and shown to my super lux room in the adjoining stables overlooking the pub garden, room 10 was large and well appointed with stable door, roll top bath in the corner and modern shower room. A cold buffet style breakfast was provided as part of the package, hot food is extra. I was fine with the buffet, everything was fresh and delicious. Couldn't have asked for more, thoroughly recommend.

Perfect country inn - lovely room , clean , lovely products . Extremely comfy bed ! Delicious food - wood fired pizzas , garlic sauce and green salad . The most delicious panna cotta and apricots for pud . Husband loved the local Hooky beer. Breakfast - yoghurt and delicious granola , fruit , croissants , delicious coffee . Beautiful village and 5 mins from Burford . Picked this pub as a stop off for trip to see daughter in Cornwall - made a huge difference to a long drive , just perfect

We endured a horrible experience here. From checkin to ending. We were ‘welcomed’ by the chef who showed us to our room (almost begrudgingly), handed us the keys and left. No showing around. The room was basic. At £400 for the night we expected more. The furniture was tatty and chipped. Walls marked. The freestanding bath place on top of the carpet (clueless idea!). The bathroom smelled of damp. The manager says all Cotswolds inns smell like that (apparently!). Dinner was rancid. Literally. The skate wing smelled of ammonia. Replaced with a salad (and no apology) but the once chef and now bar man from earlier. The Caesar salad was too salty(!). The cocktails came almost premixed. No salt rim in the spices margarita - when questioned - it was given a salt one. The inn seems like a local place for local people. It’s raging in a market which is so hot, it’s barely standing up. Genuinely one of the worst experiences we have had it just in the Cotswolds but anywhere! We have been coming to the area for over a decade - we know good. At this price point, this place is missing the mark my a country mile!!
