Nice room, patio was nice but the a/c was a bit noisy even when not switched on, would stay again.

The public areas of the hotel look impressive but our "Snug" room was not very large & no comfortable seats. There was a Fridge, safe, a good bed & comfy pillows. The bathroom was of adequate size but a first attempt at using the shower resulted in water hitting the ceiling and soaking me. One of the staff said that the shower head was wrongly directed at the ceiling. The view from the room looked out onto two brick walls, a patchy square of grass and a bank of hedges. The room had little natural light and was not helped the interior colour shade of "Suicide green". At £153 for the night, we felt it was overpriced. The restaurant was large and nicely furnished but our evening meal was spoilt by some noisy children, whose parents just smiled benignly at their antics. The food was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is in the same dining area but operates on a strange system "no cash" - so we paid £30 in advance for 2 breakfasts, which we had to choose from an a la carte menu where every dish was priced individually. The restaurant was busy for evening meal and breakfast and staff were under pressure but did their best.

We had three nights here and were pleasantly surprised, The staff were excellent and the restaurant had a relaxed and professional ambiance. Rooms were a little small but the bed was extremely comfortable. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast. Only criticism was that there was no telephone in the bedroom and we were told that guests should use their own mobile phone if they needed anything. Perhaps the hotel should note that not everyone uses a mobile phone and even if they do, there is no guarantee that the signal would be strong enough to make a call. If the guest has an emergency in the middle of the night is the hotel expecting the guest to find their phone and the appropriate external number to call for assistance! Bearing in mind recent issues at a certain hotel group, I would have considered this to be a basic safety requirement. So anyone thinking of booking here should ensure they have a mobile, fully charged, switched on and the number of the hotel saved in their contacts. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it to others.
