We picked this hotel due to location on our way up to Scotland. Just off the M6, this hotel is tucked away without any noise from the motorway traffic. The staff were really friendly and helpful, rooms were super clean and well equipped and the bonus was being able to use the spa and pool and gym facilities during our one night stay.

Had a lovely stay here, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very nice, room was great, clean and comfortable with a lovely view, excellent facilties, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi would defintely return

I only had an overnight stay because it was very convenient for the hospital so didn't try the spa or restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately the lift wasn't working but the very pleasant young lady on reception said she would check to see if there was a ground floor room available if required .

A lovely hotel with great facilities. The twin room was huge with plenty of space and really comfy beds! Good value breakfast with lots of options. We also used the pool which was an added bonus. Although mostly adults seemed to be staying in the hotel, my 3 year old was made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be back!

Lovely quiet location with plenty of facilities. The Bar was excellent and friendly. Two negatives. The breakfast options were of an inadequate standard for a hotel of this calibre. Access to bedrooms on the second floor requires to many staircases. There appeared to be only one lift and that was in the reception area.

Peaceful, relaxing and good value. Although there was a wedding on, and we’re sure we weren’t the only ones staying it felt like we had the hotel to ourselves! Friendly staff, good swimming pool with sauna, steam room and changing facilities.

Lovely hotel, great facilities and nice surroundings. We tried Bennett’s restaurant for our evening meal, the food was very disappointing. The breakfast was nice however. Prices were reasonable. Our room was lovely and in good condition but too warm with no aircon. The gym and pool were excellent.

The restaurant and staff were great, friendly, efficient and inviting however the room was such a disappointment. The glasses were dirty, a previous guest had left a razor in the shower, the shower leaked as it wasn’t sealed, the bed wasn’t made properly so the ground sheet pulled away as the top covers were pulled back. Had to remake the bed

The room was clean, unlike the mugs. The bathroom had a dripping tap. Someone had left the plug in and the bowl was half full of water. The bathroom looked a little tired and could do with a refresh as bare wall was visible. The room and the rest of the hotel I could not fault. The meal in the restaurant was really nice. The choice of beer, excellent. They even put the football on the TV for us.

However when I booked I paid more for a superior room and it turned out to be less good than the classic room we had the previous week. The curtains and one electricity socket needed repair and the room overlooked the carpark Also the actual service in the restaurant was poor. We had to ask more than once for tomato sauce and mayonnaise.

Lovely hotel and the ladies on reception were lovely. We were with a wedding party and managed to get our room early which was a bonus. The grounds are beautiful, pretty and immaculate. The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 star for cleanliness is foe to the fact there was a stain on the bedding, carpet and curtains in our room. We’d still come for another cheeky night away here though. All the staff are great.

Stay was overall good however a couple of points worth noting. In the morning of our stay we got woken up by other guests above us. There seems to be wooden floor in the room above us and guests walking around woke us up. Only other point was there isn't an electric charging point at the hotel this would be a good addition IMO. The good points of the stay was that the room was large and modern, looked like it had recently been updated. Breakfast was very good and evening meal was very good. Would stay again in a different room to what was offered to avoid the wooden floors above us.

The hotel looks lovely but I found it over priced for the room we had been given. It was on the ground floor with no blinds and so I had to draw the curtains for privacy. One of the windows was broken and could not be opened. There was a family in the room above and we could hear every step they took.

Was ok, room was clean - but was but cold but radiator was by window and if you closed curtains it covered the entire radiator - needs shorter curtains to get room warm when curtains closed

We picked the hotel because we wanted to be close to Wigan but not in Wigan itself, and the location was ideal - in a quiet semi-rural location but close to the motorway and the town. Our room was fine. Food was nice. Staff were nice. We had one issue which got resolved quickly and efficiently. There was nothing not to like, and we will have no hesitation to stay again next time we're in the area

We picked this hotel due to location on our way up to Scotland. Just off the M6, this hotel is tucked away without any noise from the motorway traffic. The staff were really friendly and helpful, rooms were super clean and well equipped and the bonus was being able to use the spa and pool and gym facilities during our one night stay.

I only had an overnight stay because it was very convenient for the hospital so didn't try the spa or restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately the lift wasn't working but the very pleasant young lady on reception said she would check to see if there was a ground floor room available if required .

Peaceful, relaxing and good value. Although there was a wedding on, and we’re sure we weren’t the only ones staying it felt like we had the hotel to ourselves! Friendly staff, good swimming pool with sauna, steam room and changing facilities.

Stay was overall good however a couple of points worth noting. In the morning of our stay we got woken up by other guests above us. There seems to be wooden floor in the room above us and guests walking around woke us up. Only other point was there isn't an electric charging point at the hotel this would be a good addition IMO. The good points of the stay was that the room was large and modern, looked like it had recently been updated. Breakfast was very good and evening meal was very good. Would stay again in a different room to what was offered to avoid the wooden floors above us.

Amazing stay. Lucy on reception was fantastic, very helpful and professional. The facilities were brilliant, our room was lovely and the restaurant food and drink was very good and reasonable.

A lovely hotel with great facilities. The twin room was huge with plenty of space and really comfy beds! Good value breakfast with lots of options. We also used the pool which was an added bonus. Although mostly adults seemed to be staying in the hotel, my 3 year old was made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be back!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, food from Bennett’s is nice but slightly overpriced but apart from that I can not fault the hotel, gym & wellness area’s are nice & clean, rooms are a good size with lots of space for activities & the beds were really comfy my girlfriend really enjoy herself ;)

Lovely hotel, great facilities and nice surroundings. We tried Bennett’s restaurant for our evening meal, the food was very disappointing. The breakfast was nice however. Prices were reasonable. Our room was lovely and in good condition but too warm with no aircon. The gym and pool were excellent.

Sound proofing in rooms was awful. There was also a huge hair in the bathroom sink when I arrived. Plenty of positives too - helpful staff, great gym and swim facilities, spacious room and bathroom, comfy bed.

Wrightington is a bit awkward compared to other hotels in that they refuse to open a tab in the bar. It also felt a bit degrading being pulled to the side and forced to pay for breakfast. Would be much more convenient if you could add this when booking. Other than that service and staff is amazing. (Except for the Manhattan style Mojito I was served. Interesting but further trials/experimentation is not required)

Lovely large clean room. Best thing was the fan which they provided in the heat wave...much apprciated. Staff on reception and Spa were smiley and pleasant. Spa area and pool were very nice, towels were provided. Very easy access from M6
