Scandic Lillehammer Hotel

Room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary coffee and tea and croissants in the lobby in the evening. Breakfast buffet has good spread and tasty.

Our experience was very disappointing. Just one day before our arrival, the hotel informed us that our reservation had been changed and gave us only two options: transfer to another hotel or cancel. Since our trip was the next day, canceling was not realistic, so we had no real choice but to accept the transfer. The replacement hotel did not offer the same facilities. There was no swimming pool or attractions for children, which were the main reasons we chose the original hotel. Although we were allowed to use the pool at the original property, it was over a kilometer away, which was very inconvenient with children. The new hotel also did not have its own parking, which made traveling with kids more difficult, and we had to pay extra for parking as well. Despite the clear downgrade in facilities, we received no refund or compensation. Overall, the situation caused us a lot of stress and disappointment, and we cannot recommend this hotel.
