The Verdandi Hotel

Jeg hadde ganske lave forventninger, og ble derfor veldig positivt overrasket. Det gikk fint med selvbetjent innsjekk, rommet var lite, men rent. Sengen var komfortabel, det samme var dusjen. Jeg bestilte uten frokost, og ble veldig glad for å oppdage at kaffen uansett var gratis for alle gjestene.

Helt ok - for et rom å sove i og de som jobbet der var hyggelige og behjelpelige. Grei frokost, og godt å kunne sette seg i en rolig bar etter å ha vært ute i byen.

10cm tykk utslitt overmadrass. Endte opp med relativt dårlig natte søvn pga det. Likte muligheten med lounge og bar. Det var rolig og behagelig der,så det gikk ann å føre en samtale.

The location was good for walking to many of the desired sites to see in Oslo. This was the first hotel I have stayed at that did not have a coffee machine or option in the room. When I asked the one staff member if I could have a cup from their breakfast machine I was told I could buy a cup. Breakfast is a $25 up-charge. The hotel has one staff member on duty at a time. Unfortunately for this individual they have to run the bar, get towels and handle issues etc.

Upon arrival at the hotel, there was no reception (as described). However, the setup of the checkin counter was very simple and underlined the very impersonal atmosphere of the hotel. The parking situation was difficult to figure out and expensive. Here it would have been nice to have a point of information at the hotel, instead of having to figure it out alone. Additionally, the room was very small and not as advertised. The towels were of poor quality, the same was the case for the blanket and the tiny pillows. The cardboard thin walls and a roomdoor that didn’t lock automatically, gave a very unsafe feeling, with a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms and the hallway. The bathroom, despite its small size, was the best part of the room. The hotel is located in a very empty and cold location, with open but empty bars and no people around. However, you could quickly get to more fun parts of the city quickly. Overall, if you’re looking for a simple place to sleep during a weekend trip, this hotel might be a good option.

Excellent property. The staff were very helpful. When thw luggage room got filled they allowed us to use their bar atorage room. So kind!

Hotel location is brilliant, close to all tourist sights. However, self check in which was easy but NO information in room or about check in area. There was no iron in the room and when i asked the staff they advised there is an ironing room on 6th floor. No information about this anywhere. “Ironing room” there was ONE iron/board. There was also construction work on building which we were not told about prior to arrival. The room was basic, clean but HOT. The A/C didn't work and it was set to constant heat. The window opened but it was an internal room so didn't make much difference. The bed is small and with the heat, expect restless nights. We did not use any other facilities in hotel. There was also a sewage smell coming from the lower area/downstairs of check in. You were welcomed with that smell!!

I’m genuinely shocked this room was considered suitable for guests. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious the room had not been properly cleaned. Dust was everywhere, including on the plug sockets, which raised immediate concerns about hygiene. The curtains were particularly disturbing, with visible white stains and what appeared to be blood. There were also marks on the mirrors and floor, making the room feel dirty and neglected. The duvet was in an unacceptable condition, with visible stains and even a hole in it. I can honestly say that this hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Because of the state of the room, we felt completely uncomfortable staying there and had no choice but to book another hotel at additional expense. This situation significantly disrupted and ruined our holiday. Given the condition of the room and the inconvenience caused, I expect a full refund for our stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I am extremely disappointed with the standards and the lack of care shown to guests. I also felt it was unprofessional and useless how there was no reception for me to contact about a new room so again we have now lost money on this room and now lost more money how we had to pay for another hotel. Due to this i deserve my money back.

Hotellet ser litt eldre ut enn det som vises på bildene. Da jeg kom inn på rommet, var det mye støv både på TV-benken og til og med i sengen. Det var også veldig mye støy fra rommet ved siden.

Støvete på rommet. Lite utvalg på frokost, dom da ble veldig dyr iforhold til utvalget. Skittent i matsalen.

Har vært her flere ganger nå pga sentral belligenhet og ok pris. Rommene er delvis rengjort. Stoler i stoff ser bare så grisete og motbydlige ut. Gardinene, usj. Fulle av «flekker» og skitt over alt. Sengen, rent laken men den sorte sengen ser ikke bra ut med flekker og hår over alt. Rent på badet, og speil ene, det er bra. God seng, men det var veldig lytt og støy fra gaten.

Skittent rom

Sentralt ok rom til god pris. Veldig støvete. Kunne ikke røre på gardiner eller andre tekstiler da det medførte støvskyer. Med støv allergi var det en dårlig kombinasjon.

Fint rom, skittent. Mindre lyd og støy enn forrige besøk. Men flekker og ekkelt

Fint nok rom. Men var 3 store vinduer uten skikkelige blondegardiner. Så rommet ble ikke skikkelig mørkt om natta. I tillegg var ikke toalett vasket.

Lite utvalg på frokost. Rommet var ok, veldig lite. Nattbordslampen fungerte ikke og ikke lov å åpne vinduer noe som gjorde det veldig varmt på rommet selv etter vi skrudde av alt varme

Innsjekk og utsjekk var enkelt og bra, men rommet var ekstremt dårlig isolert. Man kunne høre ALT ut i gangen OG på naborommet. Hørte når naboen dusjet og lav musikk, og kunne til og med høre når de gikk rundt. Også en sykt irriterende lyd fra airconditioning konstant. Forventet bedre komfort for prisen

Bra beliggenhet og helt ok. Rom. Skulle se håndball VM men aktuell kanal (TV3), var ikke tilgjengelig. Veldig synd at det nærmest kun er NRK og TV 2 på hotellet. Hadde også ønsket et frokosttilbud tidligere.

Veldig grei og lettvinn innsjekking. Rommet var rent og ryddig, bortsett fra sengetøyet som hadde noen flekker. Dårlig trykk i dusjen. Ellers et greit opphold.

Room was fine, outdated and a bit grotty but did the job. Very central. Don’t book at the weekend if you want to sleep. Club nearby that kept me up til after 3am and I’m not a light sleeper

Rommene er små, men helt greie. Sengene er gode. Litt lytt. Men verdt en natt for 800 kr for 2 pers.

Rommet var inn mot bakgård. Vindu kunne ikke åpnes og det var ikke mulig å se ut. Et slags forreng sperret

Servicen er dårlig. Hotellpersonalet er ganske sure og uhøflige

Veldig hyggelig betjening. Kom veldig sent pga brullup, men var personale der og sjekket meg inn! Fikk også lov til å få senere utsjekk. Var der ikke så mye, men veldig bra!

I think staff need to be more present at the front to help customers whilst checking-in. Also, i went to the bar to order a drink but the bar staff totally ignored me. Also my room wasn't cleaned on any of the days i stayed

Sentral beliggenhet, romslig rom med god seng og bra frokost. Blant de bedre «bang for buck» hotellene i sentrum.

Very comfortable and clean!! And great location!

The hotel was ideally situated for all the main attractions in Oslo. Everything was within 5-30 mins walk. There were numerous restaurants nearby that were delicious and not too expensive. Staff were helpful and polite. They gave good local knowledge and insights too.

Great hotel in the middle of Oslo. Very central location, within walking distance if all the sights, and a stones throw from the harbour. Easy check in and check out processes. My only criticism is that my room faced inwards onto a courtyard (no sunlight or ability to see the weather outside), and I was unable to open the window, so room was a little stuffy. Otherwise a great experience!

Frokosten hadde ett greit og standard utvalg eg ingenting å klage på. Sentral beliggenhet og en veldig god pris for 2 netter.

Veldig bra hotel alt var jeg fornøyd med men frokosten var veldig dårlig.

Veldig god service fra personale. Rent rom, god seng. Litt skuffet over frokost, derfor ikke høyeste score.

Veldig ok hotell. Sentralt. Bra service. Dyr frokost som ikke er all verden. Smakløs eggerøre, "hardkokte" speilegg, lite bacon og kjøttpålegg.

Rent og greit. Ingen resepsjonister. Men rommet var veldig liten. Frokosten var dårlig med utvalgt.
