My family stayed 2 nights and everything was absolutely fabulous. The property is right in the middle of town, with ample free parking. It is walking distance to anything you might need. The onsite restaurants and bar were lovely. The staff was very nice. Some places advertise themselves as having Old World Charm, but oftentimes the word that pops out is Old. NOT HERE. The word that pops out here is CHARM. It is a beautiful old property that takes you back in time, yet it has all the modern amenities. Our family room was gorgeous, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place. The kids didn't even care that it had no pool.

My favorite hotel in Ennis, Old Ground is very welcoming and comfortable. Warm up by a fireplace or enjoy music in the Poets' Corner. One can easily walk to restaurants, pubs, Dunnes and other shops. Parking is secure and free. Altogether a worry-free experience.

What a lovely hotel with covered outdoor walled garden. Just a short walk to the center of everything in Ennis. Perfect location, responsive staff, multiple choices for dining in the hotel. The only drawback was our noisy room at the end of the hall on the 5th floor! It's adjacent to the kitchen vents that rumble thru the wall. One mention of that uncomfortable night and we were moved to a beautiful suite down the hall. Very appreciative of that for our last night in Ireland.

Amazing hotel 3rd time staying here, great rooms large, clean wit kettle coffee machine and safe. Lovely sitting in the garden having an evening drink. Staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

The Old Ground Hotel is charming but some maintenance is needed. The grout in our shower had mold & dirt. The breakfast was good The pub was Vintage, warm & fun. Our pub dinner was good!

This property is centrally located with pedestrian only streets directly out the back door (the pub door is on the main road!) The beds were comfy and room was clean. We loved being greeted by OG, the cat! Staff were excellent. All in all, a great stay and base for exploring county clare!

There was no help with bags at reception and no elevator to help manage suitcases, so we had to navigate some steep stairs. Dinner was delicious but breakfast was just ok. Service staff was hit or miss with some very delightful people and others that were almost dismissive. The bathroom shower was downright hazardous as it required standing in a slippery bathtub - there was a runner mat but it slid around and was worse than nothing.

Lovely old styled hotel in the heart of Ennis. Only downside was nil air conditioning which is a common theme in the older hotels and fly screens seem to be non existent over here. Fan provided and room cooler than other hotels we’ve been staying in. Apart from that I can’t fault it.

Staff were all fantastic, food in the pub was fab . Only down side was the TV, they seem to have some system that dose not allow you to watch all the channels that are listed , ie i picked Film 4 and it would revert back to some rubbish channel and the same for other channels

Staff excellent well trained and attentive. Breakfast was good and food in dining room lovely and well presented in a beautiful room. Bedroom was large but poorly lit. The windows had curtains but no nets so you had to close the curtains so no one could see in.Nowhere to put makeup on as poor light and bathroom although lovely had nowhere to put makeup down. Nowhere to put soap bag. the room.

The staff at The Old Ground Hotel were simply amazing. The most wonderful hospitality was granted to us and it stands out in my experience across any hotel I’ve stayed in, in a long time. In fact I picked The Old Ground as I had stayed here for a family reunion exactly ten years ago. We arrived late and then could not drive through Ennis due to diversions. The desk staff not only guided us in through the town to their car park in real time, but managed to get us a very last minute and late evening table for 4 in their bistro, accommodating a tired and hungry family who were making a pit stop before flying from SNN the next am. The team made check in easy. Made sure we got all we needed at dinner including off menu options and then made sure we got checked in and up to our rooms. Similarly the next morning, a delicious breakfast, warm greetings and wonderful service! Outstanding staff and experience. We can’t stop talking about it. Thank you.

I recently stayed with my wife for one night. The hotel has a lovely athmosphere and the service is friendly and efficient. The room was very clean an quite large. The meal in the Poets Corner was excellent and staff very friendly. I have to comploment the staff. I lost my wallet in the bar while having a meal and when found they tracked me down to return it while on my way back to me room. I was very impressed and thankful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will be back. Would definately recommend.

Excellent location for airport. Also excellent dinner and traditional Irish music in the bar. Breakfast very disappointing as it was on last visit also. Some bedroom utems(sofa and headboard ) need updating

Beautiful hotel and great welcome from the ladies on reception. The room was perfect . We had dinner in the bar in the evening and again the service was perfect . The only negative was the food both in the evening and at breakfast. The dinner menu is quite basic considering the beauty of the hotel and the breakfast again was not the best we had on our road trip but overall a very welcoming hotel .

I travel a lot and this is one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious. The breakfast was quite good and worth the money. If I had to nitpick I did try to get coffee separate from breakfast and it took three staff members and 20 minutes. The hotel is right by a lot of pubs, food, and other options. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
