This was an excellent property for anyone looking for a short stay on a budget All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I did have to rent a locker for luggage as I arrived well before check in time due to planned activities on the day but for €8 there are convenient and safe lockers available. And at this time I was allowed access to the property’s WiFi and common areas to prepare. All common areas were well maintained with a spacious self serve kitchen area, with an attached indoor dining area, plus outdoor seating and access to a small laundry. The room I had chosen was as described and clean and safe with plenty of power points and a lockable cupboard for each bed and although some of the shared bathroom facilities were showing their age you could see they were regularly checked and maintained. With an 11am checkout there was also ample time in the morning to refresh and grab a light continental breakfast before departure. I would recommend and wish to thank the staff for all their hospitality and diligent work

This was my first stay at a hostel, I was very favorably impressed. The people at the desk were very helpful and well informed. The facilities were great providing space and convience for meal prep, storage and refridgeration. Secure luggage storage, lockers available. Even books to read and guitars to play. Outside eating areas as well as a great dining area. Everything was kept clean.

Really good location, room was okay apart from one bed was very uncomfortable. Staff were great, facilities great and the garden area was absolutely lovely!

Affordable, great overall environment. Friendly travelers and one of the few places to offer free breakfast at an affordable price to stay. The walk is not too bad to get to the main city area. It states 20-30 mins walking but I found myself doing it in 15-20 mins instead. There are plenty of bathrooms to freely use without feeling like someone is holding a line. The TV room and dining area with the pool table were also nice areas to just relax and hang out. The kitchen to freely use to cook and keep your ingredients in a cubby was very efficient. My one slight issue was that the pillow was too flat and the mattress but it didn't stop me from having a full sleep. Overall great experience. I would do it again in the same place.

Great cheap nights sleep. It was confusing to find my way around and find the chapel area. 10 minute walk to Oconnell st which was nice, lots of option for.food.

Mold in the showers. They close access to the laundry room when the kitchen is closed but don't tell you that, and the laundry room sign says it's open all day. Also the dryers are terrible and will just stop working but still eat up your money ($3/90 minutes of electricity). Even the staff dryer took 2 hours to dry a small load and you have to sit there the whole time because the staff take your stuff out (they didn't take it out of the staff dryer - they took it out of the regular washer and I walked in 2 minutes before my time was supposed to be up) Gate code for parking changes every Tuesday but they don't tell you that, so you come back late Tuesday night not sure why it won't work and have to park in the alley while you run in and get the new code. Chapel 19 is stifling hot. Miserable. Gendered shower/toilet rooms but not sure why because each is a separate room with a door. But the men have a nice big walk-in shower for the bathroom that goes with Chapel 19 & 6. Women only get small showers. Also no shelves or anything to put your shower stuff on in the shower. No shelves or curtains in the dorms so very little privacy and no place to put your stuff. Don't hang your towel on the bed posts to dry - staff will remove them and they charge for towels. The breakfast is not what they advertise. Toast with 2 types of jam and 3 kinds of cereal. Stairs with torn carpet (trip hazard) This hostel is way too expensive for the quality it is.

Staff was amazing and helpful. Everything was clean and many helpful options to relax around. The only downside is the laundry which the dryer barely works. Best to take your clothes down the block for a couple Euro’s more. Overall an amazing experience. Would recommend!

Checking in and out was a breeze, the property was very nice and clean. In walking distance of lots of restaurants, bars, salons, etc. Only complaint was that there were a couple out of order bathrooms and that left me waiting for their availability. I would absolutely stay here again, thanks to the wonderful staff!

Excellent location if you're planning on attending an event at Croke Park stadium. Other than that, Dublin city centre is reasonably walkable from there. Convenience store, pubs, and some Asian restaurants are a short walk away. As for the place itself, I think it's pretty top notch for a hostel. Shared facilities get cleaned regularly, so are most often in fairly decent condition.

Gardiner House Hostel had a mistake in our registration on their end, and we ended up having to pay an extra 75 euro because of their glitch on their end - there was no effort on their end to comp the difference even though it was their mistake. The main eating area was sticky and not super clean, and many of the hallways were rather rundown and gross. My room had been recently renovated, so it was clean and beautiful, but smelled strongly of paint fumes the entire time we were there. There was loud music playing in the hallway at all times, and at least in my room, the main overhead light stayed on all night and the light switch didn't work to turn it off. The staff was friendly and kind, but in all honesty, the hostel was kinda like they put lipstick on a pig. Not a great stay!

I stayed at the hostel for 13 days. The atmosphere is serene, and the staff are exceedingly attentive and kind. The breakfast is marvellous! The bathrooms are always impeccably clean, thanks to a regular cleaning routine. I felt very welcomed, as there are many Brazilians working there, which made me feel even more at ease. I most certainly recommend it!

Nice place to stay but if they say you have to be quiet at night to don't disturb others, why do they allow to have parties with loud music after 11:00 pm? It was hard to sleep having. The bathroom has also a bit of mold. You will receive a tidy and a clean bed. The breakfast is good ( cereales, milk, toast, butter, jams, orange juice, hot chocolate, apples, oranges, a bananas) you can get anything you want. You also have to leave a deposit in cash or a card detalles ;-)

Wir hatten ein Zimmer in der 3. Etage. Die Gemeinschaftstoilette ist uralt, keine WC Bürste vorhanden, erst nach Aufforderung, die Dusche ohne Heizung. In den Gemeinschaftsduschen und Toiletten hängt jeweils ein Frotteehandtuch zum Hände trocken. Für alle. Das ist so unhygienisch und absolut kein Standard. In der Küche wird das Geschirr vom Personal per Hand gespült. Da wäre eine professionelle Spülmaschine deutlich effektiver und hygienischer. Der Teppich im Treppenhaus ist mit Flecken übersät und wirkt dadurch sehr unsauber. Das Personal war stets sehr freundlich.

We liked the fact that it was clean and overall a friendly and safe place to be. Our room was street side and also took the afternoon sun. Because the room had very little circulation it was way too hot with no way to cool it down, even though the temperature outside was moderate. We had to keep the window closed because of the street noise.

This was great! Caveat – I think my room was upgraded, since they're doing renovations. Everything was clean and comfortable and I really liked the 'cabin' style bed, really offered privacy. The free breakfast was very basic but, also, free! And it did the job so it's difficult to complain. Only small issue was that due to the renovations there was noise in the morning, starting around 8:30 on a Saturday. Didn't bother me (when else are they going to do the work? Better than it going on at night, imo) but I know some people get upset about this sort of thing.

I stayed in a bunk bed private room for 2 people. The room was small but clean. The bathroom is shared with other guests although I seldom saw anyone during my 2 night stay. It is close to city center. It also provides simple Continental breakfast. Storing luggage will charge you eight euros. It was an ok stay.

Cheap and cheerful hostel located in a good location, not too far from O'Connell Street and some good bars/restaurants. The staff were friendly and the accomodation had everything you need from a hostel. The mattress wasn't super comfortable but fine for a couple of nights...as always with places like this - it's the people you meet that make it an experience and there's plenty of cool/friendly people staying here

Essa foi sem dúvida a pior hospedagem em que eu já tive em toda a minha vida. Na primeira semana basicamente TODOS os dias a porta do meu quarto parou de funcionar, e eu tinha que ficar abrindo a porta à noite toda para os hóspedes entrarem, informei a recepção ao invés deles trocarem os cartões magnéticos, simplesmente não se importaram com o que eu disse, e tive que passar a noite abrindo a porta, isso por umas 2/3 noites seguidas. Banheiro, você tomar banho quente era quase uma missão impossível, você tinha que ir de banheiro em banheiro para ver qual estava com água quente, era um sufoco pra achar, a gente paga pelo mínimo, e nem o mínimo recebe, que é um simples banho quente. Na minha última semana tinha um hóspede com suspeita de covid na cama acima da minha, informei a recepção o meu incômodo pois o mesmo deveria estar isolado, e pelo jeito que o mesmo estava, quando foi feito o check in deveria ter sido perguntado, pois não foi, quando fui reportar a recepção ouvi um "esse é o preço que se paga por ficar em hostel, não podemos fazer nada" não me sentia confortável para ficar naquela cama e apenas pedi para trocar de cama, ou de quarto, mesmo diante toda situação os recepcionista não se importaram em me ajudar, tive que simplesmente fazer meu check out (mesmo já tendo pago 1 semana a mais) e ido para outro hostel. Gardiner House Hostel had a mistake in our registration on their end, and we ended up having to pay an extra 75 euro because of their glitch on their end - there was no effort on their end to comp the difference even though it was their mistake. The main eating area was sticky and not super clean, and many of the hallways were rather rundown and gross. My room had been recently renovated, so it was clean and beautiful, but smelled strongly of paint fumes the entire time we were there. There was loud music playing in the hallway at all times, and at least in my room, the main overhead light stayed on all night and the light switch didn't work to turn it off. The staff was friendly and kind, but in all honesty, the hostel was kinda like they put lipstick on a pig. Not a great stay!

Excellent location if you're planning on attending an event at Croke Park stadium. Other than that, Dublin city centre is reasonably walkable from there. Convenience store, pubs, and some Asian restaurants are a short walk away. As for the place itself, I think it's pretty top notch for a hostel. Shared facilities get cleaned regularly, so are most often in fairly decent condition.

I only spent an evening here but it was great! Everything was clean and well organized and I enjoyed my stay! Shops and pubs within walking distance and easy to navigate. Would definitely stay here again!

We arrived at 2.30 in the night - so we did not use the Hostel very much. . We had an own room - with shared shower and toilet just across the corridor - with an upper and lower bed. The lower bed was fully OK - and the upper one "worked". . At (the continental) breakfast there was bread + jam + juice + coffee/the + fruits + cereals + milk. But no meat like bacon/sausages. Yes, it is worth the price for the (short) time we spent there - and it is a Hostel. . So - an overall fully OK hostel to stay at. (And there was linen and towels and coffee/the in the room).

This was an excellent property for anyone looking for a short stay on a budget All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I did have to rent a locker for luggage as I arrived well before check in time due to planned activities on the day but for €8 there are convenient and safe lockers available. And at this time I was allowed access to the property’s WiFi and common areas to prepare. All common areas were well maintained with a spacious self serve kitchen area, with an attached indoor dining area, plus outdoor seating and access to a small laundry. The room I had chosen was as described and clean and safe with plenty of power points and a lockable cupboard for each bed and although some of the shared bathroom facilities were showing their age you could see they were regularly checked and maintained. With an 11am checkout there was also ample time in the morning to refresh and grab a light continental breakfast before departure. I would recommend and wish to thank the staff for all their hospitality and diligent work

It is close to city center. It also provides simple Continental breakfast. Storing luggage will charge you eight euros. It was an ok stay.

Nice place to stay but if they say you have to be quiet at night to don't disturb others, why do they allow to have parties with loud music after 11:00 pm? It was hard to sleep having. The bathroom has also a bit of mold. You will receive a tidy and a clean bed. The breakfast is good ( cereales, milk, toast, butter, jams, orange juice, hot chocolate, apples, oranges, a bananas) you can get anything you want. You also have to leave a deposit in cash or a card detalles ;-)

The rooms are spacious and beautiful. We were 28 in a room and didnt crowded at all. The place itself soooo beautiful and I felt safe. The bathroom within the room (the pew) was incredible (hair dryer included). Bathrooms were super clean as well. Loved the free breakfast! The only « negative » thing I would say is the towel, it would be appreciated if it was included as well or with deposit! Location wise is okay, 20 to 25 minutes walk to temple bar area!

There is BIKE locking station in the garden. A jacuzzi, games room, etc. Rooms are cleaned multiple times daily. Never a wait for shower or bathroom. Beds are supper comfy, pillows are flat like a pancake 😁. I really loved this hostel's design. Thank you staff for your hard work and kind and helpful customer service. You are the real MVPs! Only con: you have to pay 8 euros to store your baggage if you arrive before check in time. But you are more than welcome to lounge in the common room until check in time.

📠CHECK-IN: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• Bookings must match the guest’s name. Bookings under someone else’s name cannot be accepted.
• Valid ID required: Non-EU Citizen: Passport only; EU Citizen: Passport, National ID or Driver’s Licence
• Age Restrictions: Under 8 years old: Not allowed under any circumstances (by Irish regulation); 8–17 years old: Allowed only with parent/guardian and cannot share dorms with others
🕓 Reception is open 24/7
Check-in starts at 3 PM | Check-out is by 11 AM (sharp!)
• Late Check-out: €20 after 11 AM (automatically charged)
🚗 AMENITIES & EXTRA SERVICES
• Luggage storage is available at €8 per locker, valid on the day of stay (before check-in and after check-out use until midnight). Check availability.
• Car park: €12/day (pre-booking needed) | €6 extra for half-day extension
• Jacuzzi & BBQ area: Pre-Booking needed. Contact reception for availability, and remember — swimsuits are required.
• Towels: Free in Private Rooms only and can be rented at reception.
• Adaptors, toiletries, padlocks, earplugs and towels are all available at reception
• Lost/Damaged Key: €10 replacement fee
• €10 cleaning fee is applied when taking an unsigned bed
âš ï¸ HOUSE RULES & CONDUCT
• Management reserves the right to refuse admission or evict guests who do not follow hostel rules. Any anti-social, offensive, disrespectful, hostile, xenophobic or racist behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstance. No refunds will be provided in such cases.
• Management is not responsible for any theft or loss of personal belongings. Guests are strongly advised to use the in-room lockers or safes for storing valuables.
• Visitors are not permitted. Subject to loss of security deposit.
• Smoking or vaping indoors will result in a €250 fee. Use the backyard.
• Respect kitchen cleaning times. Wash, dry and store dishes used.
• Food and drinks are NOT allowed in the rooms.
âš ï¸ PAYMENT AND SECURITY DEPOSIT:
• "Deposit" made at the time of reservation is a Hostelworld commission, not a Hostel Deposit.
• Payment for the first night is taken 24 hours before check-in. The balance is due at check-in in one payment.
• €30 Security Deposit on credit/debit card transaction is mandatory; if a personal credit/debit card is presented on check-in, no fee will be charged upfront.
• Deposit is refundable, but can be kept in case of damage, misbehaviour or unsolicited late check-out. Funds could take up to 10 working days to be received back (it depends exclusively on your own bank's returning policy).
• Penalty fees will be notified via e-mail and charged accordingly. If a third party pays for the security deposit, the policy will be applied and charged as usual.
âš ï¸ RATES AND CANCELLATION POLICIES:
• Non-refundable: Total payment will be charged at any time, and no refund will be provided in case of cancellation, modification, no-show, early check-out or any circumstance.
• Standard: Standard reservation where the total (or partial) payment will be charged 24 hours before the arrival date, and no refund will be provided in case of cancellation, no-show, modification, early check-out or any circumstance.
⌠CANCELLATION POLICY:
• Free Cancellation Rate: The amount of the first night for each guest will be charged 1 day before arrival.
• Non-Refundable Rate: The total amount will be charged anytime after the reservation is made and is non-refundable in case of modifications, no-shows or cancellations.
• Bear in mind that we have a free cancellation policy up to 24h before the check-in date. After that period, the reservation will normally be charged (not refundable). All Taxes are included.
👥 GROUPS RESERVATIONS:
• Groups of +4 guests: a security deposit of €30 per person (in one card transaction only) is required upon arrival for incidentals/misconduct. This deposit is refundable upon check-out, subject to a damage inspection of the accommodation. Check the fine print or contact the property for group bookings of over 8 people.
