Room very spacious, clean and comfortable. The lift is very slow when you call for it. Full Irish breakfast was excellent, great location. No car park linked to the hotel, but there is a municipal one literally across the road but no no concessions for hotel stay.

A central hotel with a multi storey car park close by which can be rented separately at economic cost 5 day pass $24(euros). Busy restaurant which you need to book. Some rooms may be over the bar ours wasn’t. Room 328 is only bedroom with air conditioning. Excellent breakfasts too.

The location was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was included in the price. We also enjoyed the drinks and live music at the pub. The initial impression of our room was not great, as the carpet and some of the furniture were stained.

Hotel and room were lovely clean and comfortable, I do think the room bathroom could do with upgrading but it was very clean. Staff were all lovely and pleasent. We were very disappointed with our evening meal in the bar but the breakfast was lovely. Would stay again.

Unfortunately, the property was in very poor condition. The guest room carpet was absolutely filthy with spots and stains everywhere. The rooms are dated, worn and noisy from street traffic. No AC, just dirty ceiling fan. Restaurant had nice breakfast, but also dated. Pub was fine. Great location, but cannot recommend.

The hotel itself was great and offered an amazing made-to-order breakfast in the morning. The location is great as well, right near the Medieval Mile and close to Kilkenny Castle. My only complaint was the rooms did not have air conditioning, so it was uncomfortable sleeping.

The hotel is beautiful and has an excellent location. The room was just average. It was very warm and had no AC. The bathroom towels are very poor and the outlet situation is not great. No outlets at nightstands to charge phones or plug in a fan. Pillows were nice.

Pros- excellent location, great breakfast choices and the cook will make it fresh instead of the buffet Cons- noise: since there’s no AC, we opened the windows. On the first floor it was incredibly noisy from the street- street sweepers, garbage trucks, from sun up. Bed- I can see why others said the beds were uncomfortable. For the first two hours we couldn’t fall asleep ( not just because of the singing and music from the street), but we realized the mattress was only one sided and it was upside down. After flipping and remaking the bed, it was very comfortable. How does housekeeping not know this? General had an older feel- carpet stains and a black stain in the center of the shower curtain.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a fantastic boutique hotel. From the great welcome at check in from Ciara (who is a wonderful balance of professional, genuine, and fun) everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. Building is quite grand and rooms although a little small have all the facilities you need. The bar serves great food, combined with live local music in the evenings. This hotel gives you a great welcome and its central location makes sightseeing around Kilkenny easy.

Front desk staff were pleasant but seemed unhappy to be there. Breakfast staff were equally unfriendly. Supposedly half the housekeepers did not show for work those days. We did not receive housekeeping services on the second day, just a bag of towels and toilet paper left at our door unannounced. The price/value for this hotel does not match other hotels. No AC in cool weather is ok IF you can open the window, but the bars across the alley stay open until 2a.

The staff make this place! Central location, excellent breakfast, included in price, - great value, can customize al a carte. We did not eat lunch or dinner at this hotel. Great trad music at night in the bar. Unfortunately the elevators where out of service during our stay and we were on the 3rd floor, staff brought our bags up to our room, we’re used to steps, stairs but did notice other guests on the struggle bus going up 3 flights. Definitely recommend, didn’t spend much time at hotel, left in morning and returned late evening, enjoyed the fans in the room, basic needs taken care of. 10-15 minute walk from train station.

If you are going to Kilkenny, a stay at the Kilkenny Hibernian is a great place to choose. It is an old hotel but has plenty of charm, classical comfort. The restaurant is lovely especially the included breakfast. Staff are fabulous
