Guest reviews

What guests think

AI-generated summary based on recent guest reviews

Across reviews of The Lucan Spa Hotel, guests praise the friendly, helpful staff and convenient access to Dublin via nearby bus routes and the motorway, while noting the property’s traditional character and ample on site parking. Rooms are generally comfortable but dated, with many small bathrooms and no air conditioning, which can make traffic noise noticeable when windows are opened. Most find overall cleanliness good, though several mention worn bathrooms, weak shower pressure, and occasional maintenance or housekeeping lapses. Breakfast and pub meals receive frequent compliments, though some describe the breakfast as basic and the coffee underwhelming. Expect a traditional, practical base outside the city with warm service and easy transport.

A 3* hotel charging 4* prices, small rooms, tiny bathroom, around the shower seriously needs to black mould removing. Bedrooms are clean and basic, pillows were thin and rock hard, although I was provided with a newer softer one the second night when requested, bedroom was very warm and had to keep the fan on all night with the window open so a lot of traffic noise. Food in the bar was very good, but breakfast buffet was mediocre, ‘continental’ breakfast was sparse. The second morning we ordered off the breakfast menu and it was a great improvement. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is tired and needs updating, it’s a lovely old building with so much history

The staff was great the room small and NO airconditioning. The breakfast doesn't start until 8:00 am on Sunday so had to leave for airport before they opened after I prepaid! 😞 the property was beautiful and enjoyable and it is set away from everything

We found the room comfortable and clean and the breakfast an incredibly good value. Air-conditioning would’ve been nice, but it is not common in Ireland.

The room and hallways were moderately clean. Updates are needed. A fan was provided in the room which was a nice bonus. Parking was ample and off the main streets. Close proximity to the bus to Dublin.
