The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to reach most attractions, shops, and restaurants on foot. There are plenty of shopping opportunities and dining options nearby. The only issue occurred during check-in. I was initially given the wrong room for the first night. According to the hotel, this was caused by a system error. On the second day, they moved me to a higher room category, which I appreciated and was happy with. The staff handled the situation friendly. However, this is something that should not happen. Overall, despite this inconvenience, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Lounge and dining/breakfast area is very charming and has that old theater feeling, same goes for corridors and public areas. Breakfast was nice and offered a lot of variety. The rooms themselves can use a bit of face lift though. For a 4 star hotel, lacking mini bar/fridge, safe and proper air conditioning unit in the superior double room is not up to par. I'd consider Gamla Teatern a nice hotel although perhaps more of an somewhat expensive 3 star standard.
