Le Clos d'Amboise is a beautiful hotel. Our family room was spacious and extremely comfortable, with fantastic amenities. There is a lovely pool and garden area and the restaurant is special. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Also walking distance to all of the sights of Amboise. If heading to the Loire Valley, highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay was fairly pleasant and the room as adequate but did not look anything like the rooms in the photos. We had very noisy guests overhead for 3 of the 4 nights, which is not the hotel’s fault. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. They have off street parking if you have a tiny car and can make the swing into the gate from a very narrow street. Our vehicle would not make the turn. There were parking lots down the street but they were generally full and it was difficult to find spaces each day.

A very nice 3 night stay. The room was very large, the staff was very friendly, and we even enjoyed some cheese and wine in the lobby next to the fireplace before dinner. There is parking, though very tight to get in and out. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is a close walk to the main area of restaurants and shops. I would stay here again.

Hotel bem localizado e só. Café da manhã pago e se vc quiser comer mais de algo tem que pagar um extra pelo consumo. Nunca havia visto isso noutros hotéis. Hotel antiquado e com instalações precisando de reparos e reforma. Limpeza ok, mas não excelente. Atendimento amistoso, mas sem simpatia. Estacionamento bem restrito, pequeno para a qtde de veículos, sendo difícil de manobrar.

Le Clos d'Amboise is a beautiful hotel. Our family room was spacious and extremely comfortable, with fantastic amenities. There is a lovely pool and garden area and the restaurant is special. This property is beautiful! The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, walkable to everything Amboise had to offer. The room itself is older and given the climate there was the general feeling of moisture in the air. Towels stayed a bit damp through the day and we needed windows for fresh air at night (we stayed in late May, and there were rain showers amidst the heat). That didnt take away from the charm, just know its an older building and with that means you get the character and the well loved worn feeling. Beds were very firm. Heard older guests raving about them, but they were a bit too hard for my comfort.

Hotel is really not four star. Rooms are small. Room service is incredibly restricted and not appealing. We booked a comfort room, but we were in a small attic room I can't see how that categorisation was justified. Having said that, Restaurant is good, though not great for a long stay as casual eating is not possible and menu never changes. The hotel claims it is accessible for disabled visitors but this is a fiction, it is not possible to access by wheelchair.

We were in the converted stable. It was hot and the air conditioner could not cool it. Sleeping the first night was miserable. The 2nd day we got a fan from the manager and it was much better, The breakfast area was delightful and the buffet was fine.

This place was amazing. Beginning with "Greg" (best we Texans could do pronouncing this nice young man's name) who greeted us and parked our van and got us dinner reservations in the on-site Restautant and escorted us to our lovely rooms. We felt like we were in an ancient chateau with all of the modern comforts. I guess we were! Walking distance to everything in the charming town of Amboise. Our group of five declared this our favorite place is a two-week French road trip. We would all go back and stay a month if we could.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful! It was a school holiday, so Taxi’s were hard to get. We walked to the hotel from the Train Station across the river. When we discovered that the hotel restaurant was booked & we would have to walk to another one, the front desk clerk actually got his car & drove us there! We very much appreciated this. This hotel is within close walking distance of 2 castles & a beautiful shopping area. The food was excellent, the hotel very comfortable & the staff were more than welcoming.

Beautiful hotel, full moon during my stay I can view from my room. Walking distance to Chateau d’Amboise, shopping streets and market plus carrefour. Most hair salon are closed due to holiday season for this period. Castle is so beautiful at night, full moon over the castle, charming!!

Brilliant little hotel in the centre of Amboise! This place is gorgeous - a traditional French Chateau with beautifully kept grounds and rustic yet elegant rooms. The staff were all welcoming and friendly, and were very kind in being willing to speak English for us non-French speakers. My wife and I had a lovely room with a large, comfortable bed and a surprisingly modern washroom. The location is perfect for tourists, being a 5-10 minute walk to top-tier restaurants and amazing historical cites, including the Chateau d'Amboise and the Clos Luce. I was also a huge fan of the food options here at the hotel - the buffet-style breakfast was excellent, and the dinner here was spectacular in its more traditional French cuisine offerings. Very glad I stayed here!

Perfect place to enjoy Loire Valley, bike to Chenonceau, walk to shops/restaurants, and visit Chateau Amboise. Staff exceptionally pleasant, perfect location, accommodations historic and comfortable, highly recommend, cant forget luscious green landscaping space to enjoy morning tea/coffee.

The picture did not do this hotel justice. It was much more charming. We had the seven course dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was delightful, artfully presented, wonderfully served, and in a great setting. We stumbled across this hotel when travel delays changed pur plans and we had to find a room fast. It was a great find on Expedia and one of the lodging highlights of our two weeks in France.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location for exploring Amboise and the nearby chateaus in the Loire Valley. Our room was nice, quiet, clean and overlooked the courtyard area. There is on-site parking. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and decided to go with the "chef's choice" for the 5 course meal. We were not disappointed. The meal was excellent! We would definitely stay here again.

This property exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful room and the staff were friendly and so helpful. My husband and I decided to eat dinner at the hotel and couldn’t have asked for a more magnificent meal. It was INCREDIBLE!!

Tout était bien sauf le petit déjeuner qui n’offre pas des produits de qualité. Nous avons pris notre petit déjeuner à 9.00 heures et nous avions le choix entre du pain blanc ou du pain toasté industriel. Les crêpes n’était pas seulement froides, mais elles sortaient tout droit du supermarché alors qu’il est tellement facile d’en faire. Donc la prochaine fois j’irai dans un autre établissement où j espère que le petit déjeuner sera meilleur.
