Staff was pleasant and helpful, but not the best at listening the first time. There are a few good restaurants in walking distance, with only a short drive to convenience stores. The pool is open 24 hours, but is not lit up well. Using the pool at nighttime all to ourselves was wonderful, but being lit up better would be nice. Beware that the photos show the front office and reception building rather than a view of the rooms, and we were not aware it was a motel until arrival. The power strips and TV were also a toss up on if they were working. Recommended on a budget, and nothing that would make me advise avoiding it, but nothing special.

Great price, barebones accommodations, but perfectly adequate and clean with great beach access and pool. Really charming in its spare authenticity. Bring your own towels and toiletries. And cash for the owner who sells anything you need for a $1 or 2.

This was amazing for the price. It was literally a 4 minute walk to the beach. You cannot beat the price and I can't recommend it enough, especially for families on a budget.

I had a nice stay at this somewhat remote beachfront motel which is staffed by a friendly, gracious and hard-working couple. They made me feel very welcome and gave me a room suited to my mobility limitations. The room was spacious and comfortable with a modern bathroom and small kitchenette.There was a good fridge and microwave, also good wifi. Some elements of the room showed wear but things were acceptably clean. The motel is located directly across the street from public beaches on Long Island Sound--a nice place to see a sunset this time of year. There was a swimming pool and outdoor area adjacent to the motel but I didn't actually look them over. Overall I had a good stay and would definitely patronize at this motel again.

Horrible and very dangerous, very low income. Really scary experience. Blankets over walls??? to cover what? run down, dirty, lights flickering constantly. Windows covered with blankets? why?? affordable housing home to some. Swimming pool was really not nice either.

Bathroom means a lot to me. Big and clean. Sheets and pillows felt good. Very nice pool area. Check in had a lot of things to buy if you needed anything in an emergency situation. Not fancy but good!

It was unique and convenient, if not looking a little like a character in a scary movide. The room itself was clean, but not serviced at all unless requested. The windows and doors were covered with dark fabric, and the AC was usable, but needed help. The exterior had a lot of construction or similar debris. The staff is a bit hard to contact and policies and costs were not clear in advance (they charge for each guest to use the pool each time), and there is not trash removal or clean up unless contacted. It is right near the beach and other attractions. That, and curiosity about an odd little place, might make it a place some would find interesting for a stay

The building and its upkeep are deplorable. The rooms are falling apart, it was full of mold, bugs and dirt the is ground in which adds to a smell similar to dirty feet. The condition of the room left me sleeping in my car over night. When I re-entered the room to use the toilet the bug infestation reminded me of the days I camped in tents while back packing. The towels were thread bear, I can only compare them to Dollar General discount paper towels, those paper towels are more absorbent and have a softer feel on the skin. Never stay at this hell hole. Yes I slept with my “protection” next to me. I never stayed the second night on the grounds or in the room. I slayed the second night, paying again, at a separate hotel.

The pictures are incredibly deceptive. We thought this was going to be a cute retro motel with recent updates. We arrived and there was debris and trash in the front. Tried to give it a chance and still checked in. Clearly out dated and run down. Got to the room and the walls were dirty, everything felt unclean. There was a couple fighting next door. We decided we could not stay there as it felt unsafe. We told the clerk we felt unsafe and decided to go home. She was kind and told us it was safe and did offer another room but it was clear to us that was not the issue. There is no way we would have actually slept. We ended up driving home (tons of traffic, totally exhausting) and cutting our trip short. When hotels.com called to get us a refund, the hotel refused. Do not book. I’ve stayed in plenty of cheap hotels and have never felt like I had to leave.

The room was large and clean. I had trouble opening the room, door stuck and the key did not work easily. There was no phone in the room and I did not have service for my cell phone at that location. The TV was not easy to work, I had 1 channel that I was able to access. Really big step up from parking lot curb to side walk in front of my room. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. I think the price was a bit high for the accommodation.

You get what you pay for! This was the least expensive Motel in the region. There were moving blankets in place of drapes on the window, also on the door. I'm guessing to reduce the outside noise. No thermostat for climate control. No light in the shower. Paper thin walls. The lamp shade was coming off the frame. Standard home air conditioner in the window.

This property had a lot of potential but ended up feeling more like an early season Schitt’s Creek motel than the listing suggested. The room was not as advertised, and the floor slanted noticeably. The shower pressure was so forceful it sprayed everywhere, and the curtain couldn’t contain it. To make matters worse, the water drained slowly. The window AC unit didn’t work, leaving the room uncomfortable, and the EV chargers were also out of order. Overall, it was a frustrating stay. With some attention to maintenance and honesty in advertising, this place could improve, but as it stands, we would not return.

Extremely terrible experience with this property and their staff. After booking confirmation from Expedia and text confirmation from property managers a week in advance, they didn't book any rooms and the night, when I was about to reach to property for stay, they told to come tomorrow like I went to buy some sugar and they were out of stock. They were completely at fault but instead of admitting their mistakes, they were very argumentative, aggressive and unwelcoming. The staff behavior was extremely inadequate, awful and unprofessional even when they were on the wrong end. I will not recommend this property to not even my enemies. They lack manners, they lack professionalism and they lack basic etiquettes to treat normal human beings. I talked to Expedia customer care team and they helped me a lot but the customer care guy who was trying to mediate also had a very bad experience with them. The Expedia agent also told me that they lack etiquettes and felt sorry for me. It is really terrible to restart for a 5 hour journey starting at 10 PM in the night with a ailing child at the back of car seat. Its big NOOOO from my side. Do your self a favor and NEVER go to this place.

Never go to this hotel, the conditions were beyond horrible. I had went there late at night to check in and it was super sketchy and felt very unsafe. The main lobby was super messy things all over the place. They first gave us a room, which was soo bad. It smelled horrible, and there was some issue with electricity the light would fully go off and so would the A.C. Then I has called them again to get us a better room and I had gone to the lobby once again. It was so unprofessional, they had handed me a wire to fix the air conditioner myself in the new room. We went to that room and again the air conditioner was not working, the room was super dirty, and the smell was unbearable. I had to leave an hour after i checked in. Never book this hotel, horrible condition, horrible service!

It was unique and convenient, if not looking a little like a character in a scary movide. The room itself was clean, but not serviced at all unless requested. The windows and doors were covered with dark fabric, and the AC was usable, but needed help. The exterior had a lot of construction or similar debris. The staff is a bit hard to contact and policies and costs were not clear in advance (they charge for each guest to use the pool each time), and there is not trash removal or clean up unless contacted. It is right near the beach and other attractions. That, and curiosity about an odd little place, might make it a place some would find interesting for a stay

Very remote location if you are going there for the proclaimed Beach Access, know it’s not a beach for the hotel guests, it’s a private beach for the Oyster Bay residents and you will just sleekly walk into the sandy dunes to just sit next to the life guards! The hotel needs tons of repairs and maintenance no service was provided to my room! For the entire 7 days stay stay and rooms has no coffee machine, plenty or ants and crawling creatures roamed around.

When I pulled up, I thought "What have I got myself into??". The exterior and office are a little rough. But, I satyed in 3 of the cheapest hotels I could find on this trip - a motel 6, a super 8 and this one. My room was the nicest of all three! Comfortable beds, 8 nice quality pillows, clean, spacious. I was VERY pleased with the room!! And it is right on the beach! I would definitely stay again!

This was amazing for the price. It was literally a 4 minute walk to the beach. You cannot beat the price and I can't recommend it enough, especially for families on a budget.

I had a nice stay at this somewhat remote beachfront motel which is staffed by a friendly, gracious and hard-working couple. They made me feel very welcome and gave me a room suited to my mobility limitations. The room was spacious and comfortable with a modern bathroom and small kitchenette.There was a good fridge and microwave, also good wifi. Some elements of the room showed wear but things were acceptably clean. The motel is located directly across the street from public beaches on Long Island Sound--a nice place to see a sunset this time of year. There was a swimming pool and outdoor area adjacent to the motel but I didn't actually look them over. Overall I had a good stay and would definitely patronize at this motel again.

My friend and I stayed at the Tides Motor Inn so that we could attend the Halloween Screamfest at the Bayville Amusement Park next door. The close proximity to the Park made it convenient. I've been to this place with family many times in the past, for years. Its not a 5 star hotel or fancy place with lots of luxury amenities. They are however located across the street from the beach, in a pretty quiet small ton in Long Island. Its walking distance to a supermarket, and there are a few restaurants in close proximity for you to eat at. Of course the main attraction is the Adventure Park next door,and the beach across the street..They also have a decent pool opened from June to September. The rooms have all been upgraded from when we first went a few years ago. The carpet has been removed, the TVs, furniture, and bedding upgraded..The rooms werent spe fancy but very clean and nice.

Thae place is a clean dump that needs to be rebuilt. Everything is dingey and dated. It doesnt have common comforts of coffee in the room and ice for free The only plus is its across the street from the beach

Staff was pleasant and helpful, but not the best at listening the first time. There are a few good restaurants in walking distance, with only a short drive to convenience stores. The pool is open 24 hours, but is not lit up well. Using the pool at nighttime all to ourselves was wonderful, but being lit up better would be nice. Beware that the photos show the front office and reception building rather than a view of the rooms, and we were not aware it was a motel until arrival. The power strips and TV were also a toss up on if they were working. Recommended on a budget, and nothing that would make me advise avoiding it, but nothing special.

From check in until check out, I was nervous about the other "guests". Welfare/ homeless housing???? No coffee available in rooms OR office until after 8am. Ceilings falling in bathroom AND soap/ shampoo provided was less than desirable. Had 2 elderly women sitting outside rooms with many luggage bags from 4pm OVERNIGHT. I left at 745am, they were still there. Staffing argued with them multiple times and it was LOUD. Photos wouldn't load.

We had a nice stay here. It looks like there used to be a resteraunt attached to the front of the hotel, but now it is just a large storage area. The front office is also used as a storage area. Location is very good, nice and quiet away from downtown.

Bathroom means a lot to me. Big and clean. Sheets and pillows felt good. Very nice pool area. Check in had a lot of things to buy if you needed anything in an emergency situation. Not fancy but good!

The outside was pretty run down looking, but the owner was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and included a fridge and microwave. The pool looked very run down until you went inside the gate, and it opened up into a nice courtyard with a large clean pool. You had to leave a $20 deposit to get the pool key and when you return the key you get your $20 back

I couldn't have dreamed of a better experience as living on the beach, Tide motor Inn employees are so pleasant and helpful they treated me and my family as real guests in their property, its so much fun place to get away to refresh and enjoy the beach lifestyle it's all that.
