Super 8 by Wyndham Milbank SD

I always enjoy my stays here. Friendly check-in staff. Fairly quiet property except for occasional passing trains. Thankfullly they don't sound the horns late at night. West facing rooms provide great view of the sunset! Breakfast isn't bad; waffles, cold cereal, English muffins, toast, muffins, orange juice, yogurt. Plenty to get your day started. Lots of parking right out front. All in all, an inexpensive but very nice place for an overnight.

I was required to check-in online. 2 days in advance. The clerk only handed me the key and had me sign the form. I resent having to do the job of a front desk clerk! The fellow was not too friendly, either. The house keeper, however, was the nicest lady and could not do enough for us. Thank you! We used the guest laundry facilities which are very old but got the clothes clean. The dryer has one drying heat, no matter what you set the dial to: very hot. It was ok, nothing melted. The room was nice, spotless. Comfortable bed.

We had a very nice two day stay. Our beds were comfortable, the vending machines were well stocked and everything was very clean. Carol at the front desk was wonderful and the waffles for breakfast were delicious! 10/10 would stay here again.

Wi-Fi not great. Password didn’t work. Power went out three times, no storms in the area. The second time it went out, I had to set up the TV completely.

Night clerk couldn’t get the computer to work, no charging ports in the room, breakfast was the worst I’ve ever seen, vending machine was out of order

Plenty of room for truck and boat with electrical hookups. Left truck door open all night and nothing was taken!

We checked in on Friday August 18, 2023. The room we were given was on the lower level. When we opened the door, the room smelled old and musty. It was late so we stayed. They had no other rooms. I wiped down the table with Lysol wipes so I had some where to put the luggage. In the morning after taking showers water was dripping from the ceiling in the bedroom. We put all our stuff in the car. I went to the front desk and told the lady about the dripping. She said she would tell housekeeping. I said maybe you do not understand but water is dripping from the ceiling. She said she would tell the manager. We left for the day. Unable to find other accommodations we returned that evening. I went to front desk and manager said well it’s not leaking now. Not acceptable, when we said we had pictures he found us another room. We looked at it and said ok. 2nd room didn’t smell but the couch was terrible, dirty and ripped. We stayed Saturday and Sunday cause I had no choice. I will not recommend this Super 8 to anyone. And they charged us for all 3 nights. Oh and to begin with they called me at home on Thursday saying they cancelled our reservation. Then they said they just had a room for Friday. The whole thing was a mess!

This property needs an overhaul. The room carpet felt gummy to the point we didn’t take our shoes off & walk around. The flooring in the bathroom was buckled, there were water stains on the ceiling, bathroom faucet was corroded. An overwhelming smell of cleaning products to mask the odor of an old building.

I have stayed here many times. The staff are great, rooms are clean and very peaceful.

For a Super 8, this property was above average. Do not expect much for breakfast but the room was clean and staff was friendly. For the price we would stay again.

Room was nice and comfy. The bathroom door didn’t shut, and the AC was having a hard time keeping up. It would run cold for a bit and then the compressor would shut off and make it humid in the room.

A/c inadequate though new. Units underpowered for the room size. Only two of the units were deemed by managed to be ready to rent. I left after going into the room and waiting for the a/c to bring temperature down to an acceptable level. It never did. Expedia offered to refund the room rate less a $99 cancellation fee. I’ll never use them again. Thievery.

Staff was nice. Beds were very comfortable. Shower was not designed for taller individuals.

Was awakened at 530 am when the smoke alarm went off. It kept ringing so we assumed the battery was dead. We had no phone in our room to call the desk. I finally used my cell phone having to call 3 different numbers to get the person at the desk. He was of course asleep. He did come up and fix it about 20 minutes later. Otherwise it was fine.

The facility was clean but dated. The staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.

It is hard to say how my stay went. They double booked my room, and I didnt get to stay there. But, the management was great and found me a room across town, even though it was a cheaper quality small motel. My only problem is that they put me in a $70/night room, when I paid for a $100/night room, and then tells me its an even exchange. I am glad that I didnt trust Hotels.com booking and get to my room late at night.

Nothing unusual, just needed a place to sleep. I reserved two queen beds and the attendant kept wanting to give me one queen bed. I had to show him my reservation for two beds. He still wanted to put me into a one bed room.

The bed was a little hard for me. Breakfast was minimal, but adequate. It was a good value, however. Location was awesome.

Everything was good. Breakfast was waffle that you make yourself but it was good.Two restaurants very close. Priced reasonably.

Nice helpful staff...recommended a great place for dinner. generally needs deep cleaning..outside could use plants in the empty pots. Breakfast was poor...no jelly for toast, no tea for hot water, orange juice wasn't made correctly...very limited breakfast food.
