Villa 600 m from Omaha Beach for 9/11 people

Well stocked kitchen; ping pong table was great on rainy days. Short walk to Omaha beach. Communication with the owners was quick and very helpful. Lots to do and see, excellent location.

En week-end avec nos 3 enfants et leurs conjoint(e)s, nous avons passé un sejour très agréable dans cette belle villa très bien équipée, avec 3 belles terrasses et un accès pour aller en bord de mer. Un grand merci pour l'accueil fort sympathique de Bénédicte et Marc, soucieux que leurs hôtes se sentent bien et profitent de cette belle région.

When we arrived, we had perfect instructions from Benedicte and Marc to find the house, & they were there to explain everything, show us where everything was, tell us about places of interest and were just as lovely as could be. Marc's English was infinitely better than my French so communication was easy thanks to him. The place was quiet, relaxing and homey. The main thing of imprtance was the coffee machines that came supplied with several coffee choices, which after a 14 hour trip was hugely appreciated. There was a ping pong table in the garage which I didn't think we'd use and then used every single day. The beds were firm, but great for my back. The rooms were quiet and comfortable and the place was absolutely lovely. I sat on a wooden bench outside but it was not designed for my huge English fat arse and unfortunately the seat slats broke. Not the fault of the owners or the chair, just weathered and me being fat. The internet was perfect and everyone had no issues with their tablets or phones when uploading photos and messaging family back home. The TV was set up so that we could 'steal' the Netflix which in an evening we used. The location is brilliant, with a short drive to Bayeaxu and a short walk to the Omaha Beach. The area is peaceful and lovely. If there was any complaint at all, and this is just for the sake of being brutally honest, the water pressure is a bit low. NOT the fault of the house of course, just an observation. Overall, a lovely property.

We had an amazing time staying at this home and loved every minute of it. Benedicte & Marc were wonderful to work with. They greeted us on arrival. Explained everything about the home and even gave us information about restaurants and grocery stores in the area. There was plenty of room for my husband and I and 6 kids (ages 23 to 8). There is a path from the back yard that leads to Omaha beach. Only about a 7 min walk. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous and relaxing place to stay in Normandy.

We waren met 7 personen waarvan 1 kind van 13 jaar!! Ruimte genoeg wat betreft slaapgelegenheid, sanitaire ruimtes, huiskamer!! Benedikt en Marc waren uitstekende ,vooral betrokken contactpersonen . Zij verdienen een dikke pluim!! Het huis was uitstekend centraal gelegen om alle D day highlights te bezoeken!! Ook het wandelpad achter de woning was perfect, in 7 minuten op Omaha beach!! Kortom; ons verblijf cq woning was perfect!!

Spent October half term here. It is a very spacious and comfortable house for 4 of us. We were fortunate to have some warm days when we could enjoy the various areas of outside seating and walks along the beach just at the end of the road. Lots of walks from the front door, a circular one goes past the American cemetery and at the right time of day you can hear the last post being played. The house is a perfect location to explore the area, not too much driving between places of interest. Plenty of restaurants nearby and groceries were easy to get in the village or in Bayeux. The table tennis table in the basement is excellent and there are toys, games and books to use, it is in fact a very well equipped property. Marc and Benedicte are friendly hosts, we had excellent communication and instructions in advance and they welcomed us to the house providing useful information on the area, they speak very good English and were very generous listening to my rusty French! Thoroughly recommend this villa.

Alors que dire sinon que Bénédicte et Marc nous bien accueillis. Séjour très agréable. Maison est très bien équipée. Les terrasses doivent être très agréables l'été. Chacun peut profiter d'un endroit où se poser. Vous passerez certainement de bonnes vacances dans cette maison. Carole

We had 4 adults and there was plenty of room. We were in the area for 5 nights and this house was a wonderful home base. We highly recommend it!

Within easy walking distance of Omaha Beach either by road or by private trail, this beach home has it all! There is plenty of space for families, with comfortable bedrooms and a great open kitchen/dining/living room area for everyone to hang out. There are a lot of activities provided, from games to toys to even a ping-pong table down in the basement, which was especially great when a big storm rolled through and we wound up staying in for the evening! It is truly a great place to use as a home base for exploring the region and learning about all of the history of Normandy, from the Bayeux Tapestry to D-Day. We really loved being able to come back and relax in such a nice home. The hosts, Bénédicte and Marc, are absolutely wonderful people. They were very communicative, gave many instructions, recommendations, maps, etc, and were easy to reach when we had any questions. They met us at check-in to give a tour, and also came to see us off, and it felt like we were talking with family rather than strangers. Next time I am back in the area, I will definitely stay here again!

There was more than enough space for the six of us, and at least another 2 would have been no problem at all if you have a larger group. There is plenty seating inside and out, although the weather wasn't quite cooperating for us to really enjoy the latter. The villa is very clean and well looked-after, and had everything we needed (and more) for a great stay. The location is very good for access to Omaha Beach, then you have wonderful town of Bayeux just an easy 20 mins away by car. All around there is beautiful countryside and fun-to-drive winding roads giving easy access to local attractions, as well as those a little further away. Our hosts, Marc and Benedicte, are absolutely charming, welcoming, and just very sweet and accommodating people. We would have happily spent more time with them chatting about the local area, and war history. They are very knowledgable about the area and had many recommendations for places to visit for sightseeing, as well as eating and drinking. We are very grateful for their warm welcome, and also for accommodating our early morning departure at the end of our stay. We highly recommend this villa in Normandy near Omaha Beach.

Marc and Benedikte were nice and caring. However, the property was in disarray with broken lawn chairs, a rotten garage and lots of parts that seemed to be stored for no use. The 2 major points of disappointment were: 1. A filthy shower curtain in the upper bathroom and 2. The picture on the website that shows a view from the property where the beach can be seen. This picture was taken on the American cemetery, where we found the exact same spot from where it was taken. This picture was misleading and is, how about that, not to be found on the french website. Overall, not the place that the website proposed and the building is far from what I would call a Villa. Karl, June 21 to June 28, 2025

Benedicte and Marc made so much effort to make sure we were comfortable in Normandy. Un accueil chaleureux, une maison claire, propre, super bien équipée, un environnement sécurisé et un réel confort de vie. Les propriétaires sont disponibles, très accueillant et attentionnés. La plage de Omaha est un réel paradis. L’accès par le petit sentier est sécurisé pour les enfants. La région est magnifique et riche en découvertes. Nous sommes tous, petits et grands, enchantés de ce séjour.

Der Aufenthalt war angenehm. Das Haus hatte alles, was man benötigt. Es ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Lage ist jedoch sehr gut. Bayeux, Caen erreicht man in sehr gut.

L'accueil que nous ont réservé Bénédicte et Marc était très chaleureux. La maison est très bien équipée, on se sent comme à la maison ! La literie est très bonne, la maison est bien chauffée et bien au calme. L'accès à la mer à pied permet les belles promenades ou jogging sur cette immense plage ! Belle expérience que nous renouvellerons !

Maison idéale pour notre groupe de 4 couples. Très confortable et très bien équipée, belle pièce de vie avec cuisine ouverte. Belles terrasses extérieures et mer à 500 mètres avec accès à pied très bucolique par un petit chemin. La météo est variable en septembre et il suffit d'être équipé pour profiter de nombreuses ballades touristiques, pédestres, ou culturelles. Nos hôtes Bénédicte et Marc sont très sympathiques, bienveillants et de très bon conseil.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Accurate description of the property, fantastic location, nice folks to rent from, ample information about the sites. Should the weather turn sour, staying indoors is not a punishment. Recommended!

Close to D-Day sites. No issues with unit. Marc and Benedicte were very helpful, friendly and personable. We felt part of their family as they welcomed us to Normandy and the villa. We would love to go back and spend more time in the future.

We saw so much of Normandy with this home being our base. The Normandy Beaches and DDay sites are so close, we also enjoyed a lot of time in Bayeux and went all the way to Mont St Michel! The hosts are wonderful, sharing lots of tips and ideas. Wish we had been able to stay longer. Thank you Marc and Benedicte!

I brought my father to Normandy for him to see some of the WW2 sites he's read about extensively. This villa was in a very good central location, and many of those sites were less than a half hour in either direction. For those looking for even older historical sites, there were many small villages nearby and the city of Bayeux was also close. You could easily spend a day walking the streets of Bayeux seeing sites that are over 1000 years old. Their Notre Dame cathedral rivals others I've seen in Paris and Lille and was nowhere as busy. We were there in March and the weather was still cool, but I could see this a great house to spend a few days at the beach when the weather is warm. You can walk or drive to the beach in a matter of mins. Overall it was a nice place to stay if you are coming to the area.

Outstanding! A truly great experience from beginning to end. Owners are excellent, very attentive with communication prior to arrival and during the stay. There are all the conveniences for grilling, outdoor patio area, full size kitchen complete with spices and more. The location is a 5 minute walk to Omaha Beach, museum, restaurants, monuments, destroyed gun emplacement, and Mulberry bridge at the foot of the pier. There are lifeguards on the beach as many people swim there. This a perfect place for couples and families. If you plan to use the beach, bring beach towels. 100% recommend.

We loved our few days at St Laurent sur Mer. Everything was perfect. The hosts personally and warmly greeted us upon arrival and showed us how to work everything in the house. They gave us superb restaurant recommendations and checked back with us often to ensure we had everything necessary for a perfect visit to the site of the unprecedented DDay effort. We felt we had new and loving friends in France before we reluctantly left at the end of our stay. It could not have been more perfect.
