My husband and I, and our two college-age kids, stayed at Flagship Harbour for a two-week visit to Ireland. The flat is located in roughly the middle of the country--a perfect place to strike out from for visits to pretty much everywhere. Almost everywere is a two- to three-hour drive from Flagship Harbour (which is nothing, for Americans). The living space is quiet, comfortable, and warm; the mattresses are top-quality; and Francis is a responsive, considerate host. SuperValu grocery, just over the bridge, had all we needed, and Revolution Laundry was better than we expected--no nasty, scented detergents! (Why I knocked off a bit under "cleanliness": some of the cookware was pretty gross, and the carpet in the bedrooms is so worn down in the high-traffic zones that there was a lot of long hair matted into the fibers that the vacuum just can\'t bring up.) Some places we enjoyed: * Adie\'s pub, Lanesbrew coffee, and Lough Ree Distillery (all just a short walk away in Lanesborough) * Cliffs of Moher, Inis Mor, Coole Park, and various sites in the Burren Geopark * the Guinness Storehouse and the Museum of Literature (Dublin) * Blarney Castle and the Butter Museum (Cork) * the Milk Market and the Limerick Museum (Limerick) * the Museum of Free Derry and the Peace Bridge (Derry, Northern Ireland) * On days when we stayed nearby, The Pantry was a lovely place for lunch, and the cheesecake at Molloy\'s Bakery was delightful (Roscommon, a 15 min drive) We fell in love with Ireland!
