The Hotel Britannia is excellent in most way one would want a hotel to be excellent! Large room with a very comfortable bed, and good bathroom. The restaurant/bar area is cozy, and with a good selection of food and beverages. (I asked for my steak to be cooked medium-rare. It was cooked to absolute perfection.) The staff I encountered throughout my stay were polite and friendly. My only reservation is that, at check-in, the receptionist didn't give very good instructions on getting my car to the hotel's parking area (she did put this into her system, and I paid 100kr). But when I went to collect my car, I realised I was in the wrong parking area. On reflection, I think that her familiarity with the area overlooked my lack of familiarity. Had she been clearer as to which area was the hotel's designated parking area, I would obviously have parked correctly. (The car park enforcers in Denmark are notoriously 'enthusiastic', so, will I now receive a fine? I await the e:mail...)

4 pax per room are not possible even though advertised and booked The staff blamed the booking homepage. We were offered to book another room at discounted fee. Only after complaining we were offered another room so the family of 4 could sleep there as booked and paid for. However, had to sleep in two double rooms far apart from each other. No excuse, no complementary breakfast or other offer to make our stay more pleasant.

Very friendly and fresh hotel and nice location! Very hot day in Esbjerg but the room was probably 28 C hot and hard to sleep in but the staff was super helpful and helped to solve the problem.
