Clanree Hotel & Leisure Centre

Lovely hotel, great big room with 2 double beds, massive bathroom with bath. Great bar/restaurant with really attentive staff. Struggled a bit with lack of reception staff in the early morning (6.30-7.30am). The pool was big, nice clean changing and showering facilities. Pool area is a little worn and could do with a refresh. Towels were very small, anyone bigger that small would struggle!

Staff was amazing. The bar/restaurant was fantastic. Parking was easy, despite it being an event center, rooms were quiet.

Found the hotel really easy. Price for quality was excellent. Lovely clean heated pool, spa,sauna and steam room free to guests ( take a bathing cap as the hotels are very expensive or use a shower one from the room) Didn't use the breakfast or restaurant so can't comment. Free parking out the front. Lifts Room spacious as is bathroom. Lovely beds

My daughter and I had a lovely stay. The room was spacious, with 2 double beds. We enjoyed the pool, despite the jacuzzi being out of order and the showers cold! Great entertainment in McGettingins bar. Good food too.

We had an enjoyable stay in the Clanree. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and our room was lovely and clean. The pool is fantastic for families with young children as well as adults. The bar next door- McGettigans is brilliant and the staff in there are exceptional- all very friendly, polite and genuinely happy to help you.

Mini break for myself. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 nights there. I even ordered room service breakfast! It came at exactly the time requested ( to the minute). Full Irish and I could sit in my pyjamas, relax, watch a little TV, then go to the pool that was immaculately clean. I will go again and recommend to anyone.

Great pool complex.

The pool was the real gem of this visit. It was clean and to guests free, if not a guest it's expensive to use. Large room, comfort bed. Easy on site parking. Convenience food and petrol station next door. Breakfast too dear

Convenient property when travelling & needing parking & basic stop. Hotel is starting to look dated. Had a fantastic meal in the pub- So nice to relax & not go far after long day of touring. The pool / spa is a nice addition but closes early for North American standards.

Hotel doesn’t have or doesn’t use air conditioning in the bedrooms even though they advertise this. Bedrooms were excruciatingly hot! Mould in the bathroom around the shower area, bedroom ceiling very dusty with cobwebs, shower head kept sliding down the holder so even my 10 year old had to duck under it. Probably wouldn’t stay again .

When entering this hotel we had the “wow” factor going by first impressions. The hallway is absolutely gorgeous, clean & welcoming. However, our room I feel didn’t reflect this. The bathroom could have been a lot cleaner. The bath itself & the sink wasn’t very clean at all. The duvets were far too heavy for this time of the year. A spring/summer duvet would have been a lot better. The main reason we booked this hotel was for the pool & leisure facilities, however when we checked in we noticed a sign up advising the changing rooms weren’t available, this advised we would have to go changed for the pool from our room then go back too our room too get dried & changed. This really put us off! This wasn’t an option for me as I use crutches too walk anywhere. This would have been a falls risk for me. So we didn’t get too use the pool and leisure facilities at all which is very disappointing! One of the other negatives for us was the noise. There was a constant banging of doors within our corridor & on Monday morning at approx 5/6am there was a terrible noise from under our bedroom window. It sounded like a lorry or a van possibly dropping off whatever at the hotel. The noise was so inconsiderate for that time of the morning! I do understand there will always be some noise around but this was extreme! The hotel itself from the outside is gorgeous as is the hallway but I would say this was at most average. Disappointed too say the least, especial as this was my 50th birthday weekend.

The lobby area of the hotel is beautiful, however this would mislead you to believe that the rest of the hotel would be the same. The rooms are basic, the towels are small and the supplied shower gel is probably the cheapest they could find. The heat in the room also meant that we had to have the windows open which then made it extremely noisy due to the road traffic. The curtains also left a lot to be desired in terms of keeping the room dark (we had to pin the curtains to the wall with a chair to block out half the light they were letting in) The bar was lovely & staff were good but the heat was almost unbearable, this also carried through to the breakfast area where again the staff were lovely (albeit a little slow at bringing tea and coffee) but again the room was extremely warm. One real positive - The breakfasts were very nice!

Hotel was immaculate as usual. We stay here quite regularly. Room was great, pool was great and the food in mcgettigans was great as always.

We couldn't get the coffee machine to work in our room and a member of staff came within a couple of minutes and sorted it for us. The room was spotless and lovely and warm. We were able to adjust the temperature easily. Both the room and bathroom were very roomy. Plenty of tea and coffee available and the bed was really comfortable with fantastic pillows

The hotel was clean and bright and the staff right from start to finish were the most pleasant and friendliest I have ever came across on my trips away in any hotel over the years .

Lovely hotel, clean spacious rooms. Good food, staff very friendly and helpful.

The room was so hot we didn’t sleep. The radiator blasted despite being turned off, we opened both windows and put on the fan. The bed was comfy however the heat was unbearable. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The pool area was dated, whirlpool and jacuzzi not working. No area to relax and recline. Location good, reception area nice however too cold to relax in.

Room was clean and spacious, really noisy at night seemed to be the vents outside the window which wasn't great with a baby. Pillows not very comfortable and room was really warm.

Check in welcoming, room clean, comfortable bed, tea & coffee facilities. Good storage. Only disadvantage no iron and board in room.

Stayed 2 nights having stayed a few times before. Window in our room was obscured by large ducting while constant boiler/generator/engine type noise came from it. Moved room and while view was better the noise while now intermittent was worse - like a kango hammer at times. Hotels response on checkout was 'sorry to hear that' We had enjoyed our previous stays but will not return.

Das Hotel ist gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Leider hört man sehr gut was im Gang und on den nachbarszimmern läuft.

Should not advertise executive rooms having coolers/fridges when they do not work , and replacement didn't work either

Fantastic stay. Room 216 you don't hear a thing

Vast improvement on last time I stayed there. Waiting and bar staff could do with training in customer service. Plenty of patrons had to ask for their food orders to be taken. I had to ask three times to xheck on tge status of our order. We cancelled dessert as it was over twenty minutes.

This property's staff are a credit not only to the hotel but to themselves they are genuinely brilliant. We have stayed in highend hotels all over the world but they lack the friendly want to help touch. Although this is not high end hotel its very clean and the staff make up for everything else. Thank-you

I ordered room service which seemed to be a bother. No cutlery arrived nor did the wine I ordered. In the morning food came on time but no butter for the toast. All a bit hit or miss. They did remove the service charge for the breakfast but at 22 euro for a club sandwich. I expected better. Not keen to make a recommendation.

Welcoming atmosphere, grandeur lobby and reception staff Large and clean bedrooms. Excellent service from staff. Pleasant stay. Would recommend to all.

Stay was ok, However, Upon Check-out they Tried to Charge extra for the room and said we hadnt already Pre-paid which we had. Thankfully i had Proof via email. Was Very disappointed by this as we use this hotel quite often.

The hotel was a bit out of the way. It was fine for one night, clean and comfortable bed. The restaurant attached was just ok.

Friendly staff, clean hotel, close to main area of Letterkenny. Wouid stay again.

Hotel, staff and facilities were excellent would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Hotel on edge of town be really accessible just a 5 minute drive to centre. Disappointed that Letterkenny was like a ghost town on Monday evening struggled to find somewhere to eat had to return to hotel to do so. No doubt it like many other towns is suffering from high energy and living costs resulting in a lack of footfall.

Eigentlich ist das Hotel in den öffentlichen Bereichen recht hübsch. Aber vor allem die laute Lage hat uns gar nicht gefallen (selbst in angeblich ruhigen Zimmern), das Bett war nicht bequem und die Bettdecke viel zu warm. Lediglich das Frühstück sticht positiv heraus.

The hotel is on a busy road and little outdoor space. The outside part of the bar was very noisy on the day time. We had a clean room and the most comfortable bed and pillows. It was noisy with the window open and a bit warm with it shut. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was varied but the cooked breakfast we didn’t rate. Eggs hard, hash brown tough. This was a surprise as the meal we had in the bar was very good. Overall ok but we wouldn’t stay again.

Beautiful hotel in a good location for travel

Room was fantastic with the best mattress/pillow combo I've experienced in years. The food both dinner and breakfast was gorgeous with an uncomplicated menu suited for Irish people. Check-in and out was simple and with extremely friendly staff. I can't recommend this hotel enough.

Hotel was very clean and tidy .Food was excellent lovely and hot and the service was very quick .Breakfast was also lovely with plenty of choice .The bar staff was very friendly and helpful .Good entertainment during our stay .

The Cranlee is a beautiful hotel and very welcoming. We did arrive fully expecting to take in an evening meal and checked the meals on offer. Having also checked the times that dinner would be served, we arrived at the restaurant, 40 before the deadline to be told that it was quiet so they closed the kitchen. Being a Sunday night, ask we could find locally was a Kentucky Fried Chicken. Not exactly the treat we had promised ourselves. When we questioned reception they apologised saying it must have been summer times, but the notice had today’s date on it. All very disappointing, however I would not hesitate to stay again given that the hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms too. Very good value.

Excellent hotel all round. On site car parking is a great bonus. Bar food in McGettigans was fabulous. Room was spacious, very clean and excellent shower. Super comfy beds. Amazing selection at breakfast and everything perfect. I'd highly recommend, have stayed twice and will definitely be back ❤️🥰

Breakfast fry was cold on first morning. Very little sleep both nights. First night was noise from wedding guests till 3 am. Second night was road noise from boy racers and loud music from 24 hr garage opposite. Food on second day was better and evening meal was excellent. Home now for a rest.
