People were quite friendly. The room was clean, nice and warm. The pool was a great opportunity to get some lap swimming in during my brief stay. It helped me sleep like a baby, despite having traveled 8 time zones and about 12 hrs to get there.

I had a wonderful stay. They have added/changed to entrance/bar area and it certainly has added to the atmosphere of the hotel. Nightly music was superb as I wanted a restful break so the pianist was excellent. Bed very comfortable but rooms slightly dated in comparison to the updated new entrance. Pool area was spotless and all sauna and steam room jacuzzi were warm and working. Staff very friendly and efficient. It was great to see James (owner) present, checking we are ok, exchanging pleasantries and working like everyone else. Very enjoyable stay. Prices have increased since I was last there but that is to be expected.

Under construction so obviously there is some disarray outside and noise . The hotel accounted for that prior to us arriving, so we were aware. Great property, convenient with a great staff.

The bar area is just terrific. Beautifully designed. A very cosy environment to chill out with a coffee and or a beer. Rooms were perfectly clean. Loved the art work throughout. And finally, a very solid breakfast. We'll be back

The hotel is excellent! Friendly staff, updated comfortable and clean rooms, great food and hotel bar, and great location to explore charming Clifden. I recommend driving down from Westport Mayo on the Wild Atlantic Way before you arrive. Such a charming part of this beautiful country!

We loved this hotel! Our room was quiet, clean, modern and quite large. The desk agent was very friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of parking available and we were able to walk across the parking lot for dinner and also just around the corner to pick up some snacks for our road trip. Breakfast was wonderful with many options to choose from.

It’s time for this hotel be modernized a little bit. I know you wanna keep your historic values but I believe you could do that while also bringing some modern amenities to the hotel. With no air conditioning and only being able to slightly crack your window and not haven’t ceiling feelings it made it difficult to sleep throughout the night with the room being so hot.. Also, the street traffic took some getting used to. Note: The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

We paid for a deluxe double room & didn’t see anything deluxe. Very basic room. The tea/coffee facilities squeezed into a tiny gap hanging off the edge. Tile’s broken on bathroom floor. Overall would have been grand if it hadn’t been the price we were charged. The castle across the road was only £57 more & that was phenomenal so we expected more for the price.

Fiona at the front desk was very helpful, which started our stay off nicely. The room was spacious, the bed/pillows were comfortable. Th bathroom had a large tub, great water pressure and towels. Easy walk to downtown. Easy drive to sites.

We ate in the bar during the evening and although the food was good the waiting staff were inattentive and unfriendly. Breakfast in the morning was average. Pros: Staff were lovely, very friendly. Room was your basic standard room, decor outside the room was fabulous -dining room, bar etc Food was delicious Cons: Our door wouldn’t lock but the girl from reception came and fixed it in a prompt manner, lucky we checked it! I don’t think I’ve stayed in a noisier hotel, 5.50am woken with banging from Lorry’s (laundry and bin). I could hear everything from next door, walls felt like they were paper thin, wasn’t a cheap stay so would expect more for the price

The staff members were unbelievably kind and hospitable! It was about a 5-10 minute walk into the main part of town. There is no air conditioning, which only was noticed when trying to sleep at night. The open windows helped, as did the fan. The remodeled lobby and bar are very nice!

Séjour mémorable dans cet hôtel magique. Du personnel accueillant, chaleureux et parle français et the must qui parle français, un des rares hôtels !! Le restaurant est excellent ainsi que le breakfast copieux et varié. Seul bémol manque un sèche serviettes dans la SDB. Je recommande cet établissement 👍
