Overall, this was a pleasant experience and nice atmosphere by the water and rock/sand inlet. The big slide in the kiddie pool is extremely dangerous and should probably be shut down. My son’s and other kids went airborne and slammed into the bottom of the slide. Elevators are small and back up. The restaurant on the first floor had a nice buffet with good food and drinks.

Très belle suite avec balcon et vue mer. L’hôtel est parfaitement situé pour un séjour à Cascais, à côté d’un parc avec aire de jeux. Espace piscine agréable et adapté pour les enfants en bas âge. Chambre spacieuse et propre, mobilier un peu vieillot. Petit déjeuner satisfaisant. The staff was wonderful. The included breakfast was amazing. Although it was too cool outside for swimming the pool was very inviting! We has massages from a very good massuse❤️❤️ The only downside was the tub and shower. The tub walls were very high, no bathmats so it was so slippery and was very difficult to get into and out of. Even my young agile niece had a hard time. Other than that one thing we really enjoyed our stay!

We had a fantastic sea view room on 6th floor and the views were brilliant. The hotel was quiet and walking distance from restaurants etc. We found the room and all public areas very clean and tidy and the pool area was lovely. Some of the features in the room are a little dated, but nothing to cause an issue.

We spent our last 3 nights in Portugal at this hotel. The hotel is well located and close to the Marina and a short walk to the historical centre. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. The hallways are dark and warm. The included breakfast was wonderful and well replenished. The grounds are well maintained but the pool is not heated which seems to be the case in most hotels. We played pool at the bar and didn’t realize there was a cost. This should be shaded with guests. Overall, we would stay here again.

The room accommodations , were not good. The room washroom was old, they have a kids slide, that was very dangerous. Many people complained as there kids got injured. As one parent complained there daughter was injured, I also complained . It is only a matter of time before there is law suite against this resort because of kids getting injured.

Hotel was good and the staff really friendly. The only thing that disappointed was the cleanliness of the swimming pool. There was a lot of ducks that seemed to stay on site that used the pool, and defecated in the pool. I had to scoop duck poo out of the pool several times and on the water you could see poo at the bottom of the pool and bits through the water when swimming. It was pretty off putting and unhygienic.

This hotel was run down and needs renovations. The pictures on the site do not match the quality that the rooms were in. While the photos showed wooden floors and updated rooms, the room was run-down, and looked dirty, including the carpet throughout.

The hotel was quiet and walking distance from restaurants etc. We found the room and all public areas very clean and tidy and the pool area was lovely. Vila Gale is a tired hotel. I got “upgraded” to a junior suite, with a dark (mouldy smelling) bedroom and hallway - and a sitting area with sofas so filthy, none of us wanted to sit in them. Curtains and doors were in great need of cleaning also. Bedding was synthetic, and the pillows probably the worst I’ve ever experienced. But the most horrendous was the plastic mattress protector, which meant the bedsheet slid off, and sleeping on plastic is very unpleasant - your body cannot breathe, and the crackling noise with every movement was unsettling. Most unpleasant! However, the staff was friendly and helpful, the pool area was decent, and the breakfast buffet OK (though lukewarm water makes it difficult for teabags to dissolve properly). The hotel is conveniently located close to the excellent restaurants in the marina, and a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre, and does have lovely views from its seafacing balconies. But at that price one should have clean rooms and a decent bed with non-synthetic linen. I won’t recommend Vila Gale.

This is a lovely hotel, very close to the Marina and 10min walk to the beach and multiple restaurants. The sunbeds go very quickly but there is lots of grass area to relax on with towels provided by the hotel. The rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday. I recommend asking for floor 6 when booking so you don’t get disturbed by noise from the floor above.

Beautiful location and grounds with great sea views. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was pretty good. Let down by a lack of few services. No kettle or coffee machine in the room, no water provided after the first day and wifi was slow and unreliable. Also no iron in the room and not available to borrow from reception so only option is to use the hotel laundry/pressing service which is an extra cost.

Everything except one thing was perfect, short walk to Centro, clean pool and friendly staff. Very nice reception, bartenders and staff overall. Breakfast options were plentiful and abundant. The one issue would be the two twin beds put together to make a queen with very loose bed springs. My back was in pain by the time we checked out but everything else was perfect.

The location is excellent. Our 1 bedroom suite was spacious enough but had dated bergundy carpet and dilapidated fixtures. The carpet smelled and we had to open the sliders to air it out. The kids enjoyed the pool. The breakfast is incredible, with many choices. If the room was updated this would be 5 stars.

Hotel is in a great location with a lovely park to one side and the marina just 5 mins walk away. All of the staff were very friendly, polite and professional. Room was a good size with plentiful hot water and lots of storage space. Really good breakfast offering too. Can definitely recommend.

This is an old hotel! Our room looked like it was straight out of the 60s. We stayed all around Portugal for almost 3 weeks, staying in multiple places during our trip and this was our least favorite out of them all. It didn’t help that our room was right above the kids play area, and with young kids going to bed early, the teenagers that would play outside our too at night, kept our kids awake. The location was fantastic but I’m sure you can find other places to stay for similar rates, but better overall.

It’s a very handy hotel to stay in as everything is within walking distance and the views are lovely. The pool is very nice with lots of lounge chairs. Big buffet breakfast with lots of options. Our bedroom was on the 1st floor looking out on the car park which was disappointing so I would suggest asking for pool/sea view. It’s probably more expensive but would be worth it as it would make a big difference to your stay. Beds are comfy but pillows aren’t great. There is a small fridge in the room which is very handy. Only basic shampoo& shower gel combined so bring your own. We enjoyed our stay but definitely feel the location of our room made a difference to to our recommendation so it felt more 3 star than 4 star for us. We would stay again but would request the pool/sea view

We had a lovely stay. The check in and out was efficient and friendly. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly in the bar (Bruno & colleague) and the pool bar. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. The pool area is great, lots of space and whether it was because we were here in July no trouble getting a sun bed and no one seemed to rush to put their towels out early - a huge plus!! Good system with supplying beach towels too. Couple of minutes walk to the marina and approx 10 mins to lovely beach and the town, restaurants etc. Also easy journey to Lisbon by train.

I found the service to be inconsistant. For e.g., one person at registration was brash and unhelpful while another person later was very helpful. I requested a tea kettle three times but it never came. One day when I returned to my room at 2:30 it was not made-up so needed to request service, while other days it was made up promptly. Also, on different days I was left a different array of towels. But all in all, I had a very nice stay there.

We loved this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Having a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the ocean was so nice after being in the bigger cities for a week, and the hotel keeps flower boxes full of lantanas on each balcony. The pool area was beautiful and staff was very nice. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. It was perfectly situated - a short walk to most of the Cascais sights - Boca do Inferno in one direction and the lighthouse and historic houses and marina in the other. An easy walk into town. What a nice place - I would give this Vila Gale brand a try anywhere else in Portugal or Brazil.

Location is amazing with proximity to restaurants, town center, marina and beautiful scenic views. The hotel, although clean is dated, had no room service during 3 night stay, had to find staff to restock on toiletries which are no many, no iron in room. Water charges twice what they are in small shops, breakfast food not very good, saw some canned peaches and fruit salad at breakfast. Generally the staff was not at all friendly with the exception of maybe two restaurant workers. Next time I will find another hotel in that location.

O hotel tem uma localização excelente, a poucos metros de caminhada da marina de cascais. O quarto oferece conforto e silêncio para uma noite de sono, e possui uma boa piscina com espaço para crianças. Entretanto, para uma instalação que possui 4 estrelas, espera-se mais do que o mesmo que se encontra em todos, e em alguns casos nem o mínimo é oferecido. O quarto não possui um item que consideramos básico, que seria um sabonete, pelo menos para lavar as mãos. Havia um shampoo no banheiro, mas o banho é somente com água mesmo. Aliás, além do shampoo, o único "conforto" encontrado no banheiro foi uma touca de banho. Outro ponto que considerei muito fraco foi o café da manhã. Já estive em muitos hotéis três estrelas com café bem mais variado do que aquele que é oferecido nesse hotel. Para se dar um exemplo, os sucos oferecidos são aqueles que vêm em "caixas", de sabor extremamente desagradável. Meu filho ficou chorando porque não havia suco de laranja, apenas do "de caixa", que para ele não é suco. Tive que pedir um suco de laranja de verdade, cobrado "por fora", obviamente pagando o valor de uma saca de laranjas. O hotel talvez valha mais pela localização e relativo conforto, mas certamente irei procurar outras alternativas quando for a Cascais.

Staff are hotel’s greatest asset. Breakfast selection is excellent. Coffee is either stewed filter or from a Nescafé machine-not good enough. Bar serves a delicious white wine. Lunch menu is healthy and more-ish! You do need to use a QR code! Rooms are ok but bathrooms need more toiletries. Beds are comfy. Reception needs better organisation and more staff at peak check in, check out times. Staff were very helpful and looked after my wheelchair! It’s a good hotel and the pools are fine. When we were there the children were fairly quiet (!) Beach towels are well organised. Hotel is in walking distance of the Marina and the town.
