I stayed at this hotel for three nights in early March as I was in Mexico for a wedding. My original room was on the ground floor adjacent to the outdoor dining area. As the west facing wall is sheer glass, the room is completely visible to the outside when the drapes are open. Restaurant patrons were sitting directly outside my room, such that everyone could look inside and I had no privacy. When I raised this concern with the staff, she informed me they were fully booked. I tried to settle into the room and realized there was no way that I could stay shuttered inside this room, attempting to have some semblance of privacy. I then went to the front desk to inform her I could not stay longer than one night as a female solo traveller I felt on display in this room. She then showed me to the second floor, which was a dramatic improvement and an absolutely beautiful room. (Despite being “full”) The hotel pools and beachfront location are stunning. However, during the day it is a beach club such that from 11 AM to 7 PM dance music blares over the speakers and the grounds are full of beach club members. There is no escaping the music and there is no possibility of relaxing whatsoever. I am plant-based and had limited options on the restaurant menu although I did enjoy the items I was able to have. Staff were also very lovely. The view of the sunset is unbelievable however, if you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy the beach, this is not where you want to.

Totem Beach Club is gorgeous . Very trendy vibe . Many places to sit and watch the ocean . Easy to walk to activities and the center . I give it a lower rating because of the room. There was no bathroom in the room and no sink . Which can be very difficult at night especially for older people and little ones . The room didn’t have a writing desk. No coffee maker - the restaurant doesn’t open until 11:am. No tissue . It is about 15-20 minutes walking to the center for coffee and breakfast .Doable of course . I wish this Beach club the best of luck on their projects . If there was these amenities in the room I would book here again.

Lei los comentarios previos y me daba miedo fueran cierto, tanto los de Facebook cómo los de Google y de esta página. A mí me encantó el hotel, la atención al cliente 10/10. Tuve un detalle un día antes de hacer check in, tuve infección en mi ojo y me prohibieron alberca. El personal se porto tan amable con mi reserva y seguimiento para reagendar otra fecha. En todo momento su atención fue excelente y respuesta. El olor de la habitación delicioso, el café y el baño increíble. No entiendo porque tiene baja calificación. Las albercas limpias,la comida muy deliciosa y la playa increíble. Único detalle algunas moscas pero es algo que al haber mariscos las atrae. Definitivamente regreso y lo recomendaré.

I recently spent three days at this hotel while travelling in Mexico for a wedding in late February. When I first arrived, the staff took me to my room, which was on the ground level and situated amongst several tables. Numerous people were sitting at the tables directly outside the room. The rooms face the ocean and are sheer glass such that when the curtains are open, the rooms are completely visible. When I raised this with the staff, they informed me they were fully booked, and there was no option for me to stay elsewhere. As I had driven so far that day and had prepaid for my room I felt that I had limited options and attempted to settle into my room. I then went to the front desk and informed them that I could not stay the two nights at which time she showed me to the room on the second floor (after she said me that they were fully booked). The second room was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the sunset two beautiful beds and a lovely bathroom. The hotel has only 4 rooms available but is a beach club during the day such that members of the beach club use the pool and facilities. Dance music blares all day long from 11-7 and totally takes away from the experience of this beautiful place. I am plant-based and there was limited options on the restaurant menu although what I had was lovely. This is a beautiful place however, if you’re looking for a quiet beach front getaway, you might want to consider going somewhere else

The property is beautiful, the staff lovely, food delicious and the rooms clean and comfortable. The issue is the Expedia description seems misleading. When I booked the room it said 3 king beds. There was 1 king bed and 1 twin when we arrived. I had tried to contact the property several times to clarify this with no answer. The bathrooms and showers are shared with the beach club, but are very clean. I wish the booking showed photos of the shared facilities because it may deter guests without. I would most definitely stay here again.

La experiencia fue terrible, las habitaciones son carísimas y el aire acondicionado no funcionaba, la regadera estaba inundada,el inodoro parecía un sauna. Tuve que pedir la devolución de mi hospedaje.

Es un quiero y no puedo. Habitación doble pero una de las dos tiene que salir al exterior para ir al baño. Signos de humedad. Baño sin alicatar. Limpieza muy limitada en general.

El mejor Beach Club de Celestún. La comida y limpieza son perfectas. El personal es excelente, en especial Paty y Luseli fueron muy amables y disponibles. Completamente recomendado.

Our stay at Totem Beach Club was a mix of stunning location and disappointing rest. The setting is absolutely beautiful — right on the beach with breathtaking sunsets. We were welcomed with a delicious non-alcoholic drink, which was a lovely touch. Our ground-floor ocean view room was spacious and had a refrigerator. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The shower was practically on top of the toilet, which felt poorly designed. During the night, there was constant noise from someone very close to our room watching something on their phone for hours. It wasn’t another guest, which made it even more frustrating. On top of that, bright lights from the pool and street stayed on all night, and there were no proper blackout curtains. The room was filled with light, making it almost impossible to sleep. We wanted to extend our stay but were glad the hotel was fully booked. After such a sleepless night, we realized this was not acceptable — especially for the price. The location is beautiful, but if you want guests to truly rest, this needs improvement.

We wanted to extend our stay but were glad the hotel was fully booked. After such a sleepless night, we realized this was not acceptable — especially for the price. The location is beautiful, but if you want guests to truly rest, this needs improvement.

Totem Beach Club is gorgeous . Very trendy vibe . Many places to sit and watch the ocean . Easy to walk to activities and the center . I give it a lower rating because of the room. There was no bathroom in the room and no sink . Which can be very difficult at night especially for older people and little ones . The room didn’t have a writing desk. No coffee maker - the restaurant doesn’t open until 11:am. No tissue . It is about 15-20 minutes walking to the center for coffee and breakfast .Doable of course . I wish this Beach club the best of luck on their projects . If there was these amenities in the room I would book here again.

The property is beautiful, the staff lovely, food delicious and the rooms clean and comfortable. The issue is the Expedia description seems misleading. When I booked the room it said 3 king beds. There was 1 king bed and 1 twin when we arrived. I had tried to contact the property several times to clarify this with no answer. The bathrooms and showers are shared with the beach club, but are very clean. I wish the booking showed photos of the shared facilities because it may deter guests without. I would most definitely stay here again.

I recently spent three days at this hotel while travelling in Mexico for a wedding in late February. When I first arrived, the staff took me to my room, which was on the ground level and situated amongst several tables. Numerous people were sitting at the tables directly outside the room. The rooms face the ocean and are sheer glass such that when the curtains are open, the rooms are completely visible. When I raised this with the staff, they informed me they were fully booked, and there was no option for me to stay elsewhere. As I had driven so far that day and had prepaid for my room I felt that I had limited options and attempted to settle into my room. I then went to the front desk and informed them that I could not stay the two nights at which time she showed me to the room on the second floor (after she said me that they were fully booked). The second room was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the sunset two beautiful beds and a lovely bathroom. The hotel has only 4 rooms available but is a beach club during the day such that members of the beach club use the pool and facilities. Dance music blares all day long from 11-7 and totally takes away from the experience of this beautiful place. I am plant-based and there was limited options on the restaurant menu although what I had was lovely. This is a beautiful place however, if you’re looking for a quiet beach front getaway, you might want to consider going somewhere else

Está muy bien el hotel, pero el cuarto carece de contactos junto a la cama para cargar celular y reloj. El estacionamiento no tiene vigilancia y está a varios metros de la instalación.

As the west facing wall is sheer glass, the room is completely visible to the outside when the drapes are open. Restaurant patrons were sitting directly outside my room, such that everyone could look inside and I had no privacy. When I raised this concern with the staff, she informed me they were fully booked. I tried to settle into the room and realized there was no way that I could stay shuttered inside this room, attempting to have some semblance of privacy. I then went to the front desk to inform her I could not stay longer than one night as a female solo traveller I felt on display in this room. She then showed me to the second floor, which was a dramatic improvement and an absolutely beautiful room. (Despite being “full”) The hotel pools and beachfront location are stunning. However, during the day it is a beach club such that from 11 AM to 7 PM dance music blares over the speakers and the grounds are full of beach club members. There is no escaping the music and there is no possibility of relaxing whatsoever. I am plant-based and had limited options on the restaurant menu although I did enjoy the items I was able to have. Staff were also very lovely. The view of the sunset is unbelievable however, if you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy the beach, this is not where you want to.

Lei los comentarios previos y me daba miedo fueran cierto, tanto los de Facebook cómo los de Google y de esta página. A mí me encantó el hotel, la atención al cliente 10/10. Tuve un detalle un día antes de hacer check in, tuve infección en mi ojo y me prohibieron alberca. El personal se porto tan amable con mi reserva y seguimiento para reagendar otra fecha. En todo momento su atención fue excelente y respuesta. El olor de la habitación delicioso, el café y el baño increíble. No entiendo porque tiene baja calificación. Las albercas limpias,la comida muy deliciosa y la playa increíble. Único detalle algunas moscas pero es algo que al haber mariscos las atrae. Definitivamente regreso y lo recomendaré.

Our stay at Totem Beach Club was a mix of stunning location and disappointing rest. The setting is absolutely beautiful — right on the beach with breathtaking sunsets. We were welcomed with a delicious non-alcoholic drink, which was a lovely touch. Our ground-floor ocean view room was spacious and had a refrigerator. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The shower was practically on top of the toilet, which felt poorly designed. During the night, there was constant noise from someone very close to our room watching something on their phone for hours. It wasn’t another guest, which made it even more frustrating. On top of that, bright lights from the pool and street stayed on all night, and there were no proper blackout curtains. The room was filled with light, making it almost impossible to sleep. I stayed at this hotel for three nights in early March as I was in Mexico for a wedding. My original room was on the ground floor adjacent to the outdoor dining area. As the west facing wall is sheer glass, the room is completely visible to the outside when the drapes are open. Restaurant patrons were sitting directly outside my room, such that everyone could look inside and I had no privacy. When I raised this concern with the staff, she informed me they were fully booked. I tried to settle into the room and realized there was no way that I could stay shuttered inside this room, attempting to have some semblance of privacy. I then went to the front desk to inform her I could not stay longer than one night as a female solo traveller I felt on display in this room. Totem Beach Club is gorgeous . Very trendy vibe . Many places to sit and watch the ocean . Easy to walk to activities and the center . I give it a lower rating because of the room. There was no bathroom in the room and no sink . Which can be very difficult at night especially for older people and little ones . The room didn’t have a writing desk. No coffee maker - the restaurant doesn’t open until 11:am. No tissue . It is about 15-20 minutes walking to the center for coffee and breakfast .Doable of course . I wish this Beach club the best of luck on their projects . If there was these amenities in the room I would book here again.

Lei los comentarios previos y me daba miedo fueran cierto, tanto los de Facebook cómo los de Google y de esta página. A mí me encantó el hotel, la atención al cliente 10/10. Tuve un detalle un día antes de hacer check in, tuve infección en mi ojo y me prohibieron alberca. El personal se porto tan amable con mi reserva y seguimiento para reagendar otra fecha. En todo momento su atención fue excelente y respuesta. El olor de la habitación delicioso, el café y el baño increíble. No entiendo porque tiene baja calificación. Las albercas limpias,la comida muy deliciosa y la playa increíble. Único detalle algunas moscas pero es algo que al haber mariscos las atrae. Definitivamente regreso y lo recomendaré.

I recently spent three days at this hotel while travelling in Mexico for a wedding in late February. When I first arrived, the staff took me to my room, which was on the ground level and situated amongst several tables. Numerous people were sitting at the tables directly outside the room. The rooms face the ocean and are sheer glass such that when the curtains are open, the rooms are completely visible. When I raised this with the staff, they informed me they were fully booked, and there was no option for me to stay elsewhere. As I had driven so far that day and had prepaid for my room I felt that I had limited options and attempted to settle into my room. I then went to the front desk and informed them that I could not stay the two nights at which time she showed me to the room on the second floor (after she said me that they were fully booked). The second room was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the sunset two beautiful beds and a lovely bathroom. The hotel has only 4 rooms available but is a beach club during the day such that members of the beach club use the pool and facilities. Dance music blares all day long from 11-7 and totally takes away from the experience of this beautiful place. I am plant-based and there was limited options on the restaurant menu although what I had was lovely. This is a beautiful place however, if you’re looking for a quiet beach front getaway, you might want to consider going somewhere else

El mejor hotel de Celestun, recorrimos todas las playas caminando y es el hospedaje frente al mar con mas amenidades. Si te hospedas entre semana vas a sentir que estar en una isla desierta, son pocas habitaciones. El fin de semana llega gente pagando el daypass para usar instalaciones de alberca y playa y es mas ruidoso y la magia de sentirte en la soledad.

Perfect and beautiful view of sunset, right on the water, ocean view, clean and comfy stay, massage was great, only thing is the parking is not on the property and is out on the open. But a place to surely stay and experience quite and peaceful moment.

Positives: The staff is great; the private beach is lovely; the pools are terrific; the room was a nice, open layout; and the bed was really comfortable. Negatives: The water in the shower is salty - it dries out your hair immediately (even more than the pools & ocean do); You have to close out the check with the bar each day - they will not allow you to charge to the room and pay at the end of the trip (literally had a bartender knock on the room door at 9:30pm my first night telling me I had to pay the bill for 3 drinks from earlier in the day) - & for some reason you can't tip on the tab, so you also need cash; There is no water dispenser & the front desk and bar run on limited hours (nobody there from about 10pm-7am or so) - so if you run out of water you're dehydrated until the next day; The drinks are extremely expensive - for example, there is only 1 (okay-ish) Sauvignon Blanc available and the bottle costs about $75 USD; There is a coffee maker in the room (uses Nespresso original line) but you have to buy the pods from the front desk, and get a coffee cup/sugar/milk from the bar; No toothpaste (as stated) in the event that you run out; and The Tapir Suite does not have a patio or balcony, as advertised. There were a few other no-so-great things, but these are important issues for guests to know.
