The hotel is adjacent to the main train station and DOM, so its location would be hard to beat. The breakfast buffet could be better, so a morning meal at the train station might be a better option. I also wish the hotel had a better wifi connection, an ice machine, and a laundry room where guests could do their own washing and drying. There is no laundromat in the immediate area.

This hotel is probably the closest one you can get to the Köln Hbf (Central Train Station). The room was small, but nice and about what I’d expect for the money. There is no lobby bar or good hang area, but the train station next door has a ton of dining options. The central city area is also super close as is the subway terminal. The gym existed, but was pretty bare bones with only a weight machine, a gazelle and a stationary bike. No free weights. Unfortunately for me, the sauna was out of order which was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. Overall, this place is a good value and great if you’re wanting to stay close to the train station.

Gutes Hotel. Hervorragende Lage, direkt am Hauptbahnhof, neben dem Musicaltheater. Altstadt und Rhein gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wir sind mit der Bahn gekommen und haben währednd unseres Aufenthaltes keine weiteren Verkehrsmittel benötigt. Das Hotelpersonal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Preis/Leistung stimmt. Eine Hotelbar gibt es leider nicht.

Prima, schone en goed-ingerichte kamer. Helaas was de lift stuk, ik had een kamer op de 2e verdieping en heb een loopbeperking, maak gebruik van een rollator ( en kon dus een tijdlang niet van mijn kamer af. Maar de rollator werd voor mij naar boven gedragen, en ook lukte het zelf langzaam de 4 trappen te klimmen. Gelukkig kwam er uiteindelijk toch een monteur en was mijn probleem opgelost. Dit hotel is beslist een aanbeveling waard!

Wir haben diese Unterkunft im Rahmen eines Konzertbesuchs gewählt und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Lage ist wirklich top. Man kommt zu Fuß zu den Hauptattraktionen in Köln gut hin und auch der Hauptbahnhof ist direkt nebenan. Um die Ecke ist auch eine Radstation,die wir ebenfalls besucht haben. Das Zimmer war im guten Zustand. Es waren ein paar Haare der Reinigungskraft im Bad vorzufinden,was schon ein wenig eklig war. Ansonsten hat das Zimmer alles was man braucht. Obwohl der Bahnhof direkt daneben ist, hört man den Zugverkehr nur ganz leise. Alles in allem würde ich das Hotel sehr empfehlen für Touristen, die die Stadt erkunden wollen.

The rooms are small - think dormitory small. They were reasonably clean but the carpet on the stairwell was gross. The lift: tiny and slow. The location, while near the station, is noisy with buses and drunks consistently disrupting any night’s sleep. To cap it off - the line receptionist locked the main doors while off ‘doing something’ so several guests couldn’t even get access for over 10 minutes. Over-priced as well. Avoid.

Lack of AC could be a dealbreaker but I'm happy overall and sure will come back. Staff is friendly and nice and the location is perfect. Since you can't sleep without open windows (no AC) this is not a hotel for everyone since the traffic is quite noisy.

Best location ever, across from the main train station e a walking distance from the main touristic attractions. The stunning cathedral was seen by my room window. It was magical. The bed was ok, but the blankets are way too small for adults. The shower was very good.

Location to train station and cathedral can't be beat. Both are just right out the door. But the temperature, oh my. So hot in the room. A fan was provided but little help. Rooms without a breeze need portable A/C. If it had been a room with a breeze then no A/C would have been ok. I haven't tried to sleep while sweating since I was a kid.

Ich habe selten so ein unfreundliches Personal an der Rezeption erlebt. Die Tourismussteuer war je nach Zimmer trotz gleicher Preise und Buchung am selben Tag unterschiedlich hoch. Es konnte keine ordentliche Erklärung dafür geliefert werden. Wenn man sich die Rechnung zuschicken lassen mõchte, soll es eine Woche!! dauern, bis man sie bekommt. Es war keine Kundenfreundlichkeit zu sehen...ich werde das Hotel sicher nicht noch einmal buchen.

What a great hotel amazing location next to the cathedral and train station. The staff was incredible and very welcoming. Side note when we checked out they held our luggage in a locked room so we could visit the Christmas Market again. Highly recommend.

Das Hotel liegt gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof, näher geht es fast nicht mehr. Das Personal ist super freundlich und kompetent. Abwertung gibt es hier aber für den letzten mürrischen Kontakt einer Mitarbeiterin zur Kölner Kulturabgabe, diese sei nicht vollständig bezahlt worden. Die Frage war grundsätzlich in Ordnung, jedoch hätte ich erwartet, dass ein paar freundlichere Worte kommen, das Hotel hatte das nicht korrekt verbucht (mein Beleg hatte ich zum Glück noch). Somit war das defintiv unser letzter Besuch dort. Dennoch nur gering abgewertet, die anderen Kolleginnen und Kollegen waren top!

The staff was WONDERFUL! Location is unbeatable if you’re going to see the Cathedral. The room was nice, clean and modern. The only gripe is that the housekeeper just walked in on me multiple times without knocking. Not a big deal, but make sure you put the little sign on your door handle!

Great location, steps away from the main station and right next to many late night food options. My check in process didn't go as smoothly with the cold front desk guy, but the situation was quickly resolved. Ich habe zwei Nächte im Kommerzhotel Köln in Zimmer 309 verbracht (72 € pro Nacht) und war rundum zufrieden. Das Frühstück habe ich zwar nicht genutzt, aber es lässt sich bequem vor Ort dazu buchen. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist das ausgesprochen nette und hilfsbereite Personal, das den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm macht. Die Lage des Hotels ist unschlagbar: nur ein Katzensprung zum Kölner Hauptbahnhof und mit der S-Bahn ist man in nur 2 Minuten beim Bahnhof Messe Deutz und von dort aus sind es ca. 10 Minuten per Fuß– ideal, wenn man für ein Event in der Stadt ist. Auch der Kölner Dom, die Einkaufsstraßen für einen Stadtbummel und schöne Spaziergänge am Rhein sind in Windeseile erreichbar. Fazit: Wer eine zentrale Unterkunft mit freundlichem Service sucht und vielleicht wegen eines Konzerts oder Events anreist, ist im Kommerzhotel Köln bestens aufgehoben.

Excellent room and superb breakfast choice. Good view of the station and the cathedral from the breakfast room. I wasn’t bothered by the traffic noise although I could hear it. However I was asked to pay €24 for breakfast and tourist tax. I don’t mind paying but this should be obvious when you book otherwise the price is artificially low.

Great hotel RIGHT outside the train station. Very convenient for exploring the city and also the train station has a lot of food options so a good central hub. Room was small but very clean and quiet and very functional. I would recommend for solo traveller's for sure. Good breakfast too.

Die unmittelbare Umgebung hinter dem Hauptbahnhof ist wenig attraktiv, dafür ist die Lage aber zentral und für An- und Abreise per Zug optimal. Wem es -wie mir- darauf ankommt, hat eine gute Wahl getroffen. - Gesonderte Erwähnung sollten das ausgezeichnete Frühstücksbuffet und das relativ große Zimmer mit Sitzecke finden.

Nice hotel, great location very friendly and informative staff. breakfast was not good but we arrived at 9:30 and breakfast ended at 10 so they were out of many items like boiled eggs fruit some cheeses croissants also scrambled eggs were cold and unappetizing. the lesson is to arrive early for breakfast
