Our family enjoyed our weekend on Oak Island. American Dream fit our needs to a T! We were in town for a wedding, venue was 6 minutes away. Grocery stores and near by shops met all our needs. We took time to enjoy the fire pit for smores and the large deck during the evening as we had great weather. The large kitchen and open living area with dinging table was a huge selling point when booking. I kept the game room a secret, which the young and old all enjoyed. Would most certainly book this house again. Highly recommend!

The house was in a great location and easy access. The game room was a huge hit as well as a spacious dining table. The small pool was in need of attention and not usable. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the house.

This property was great. Short walk to the beach. Plenty of space for a family of 11. The toys and play room were great for the children. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach carts. We had brought some of our own but didn't need them at all. The pool seemed nice but we didn't use it. We would definitely stay here again.

The location is great. It’s a residential area of the island, so the beach is less crowded. You can quickly walk to the beach, pier, coffee shops, and shops. The area is quiet and nice. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. The house needs to be updated. The floors in particular were worn and separating or deteriorating. The upstairs master bedroom is in an addition/converted attic, and it is significantly hotter than the rest of the house. It’s manageable but should be considered if you’re planning to utilize it as a primary bedroom. We checked in on a Wednesday, and the trash was supposed to have been taken out on Tuesday. It was overflowing before we even put trash into it. Overall, we had a good time, but it wasn’t what we expected based on the listing.
