Hotel Coral Reef

Pros: Fantastic AC Great pool The offer aloe vera if you get burnt Great location Cons: Transphobic receptionist. (Just one, everyone else seemed very nice. I'm not trans, this person just felt the need to tell me.) Coffee maker infested with bugs. Room in need of repair, generally clean though. *Parking lot will flood if there's a lot of rain, make sure you park as far away from the front desk as possible.

Nice location by the beach and bike trail

I have traveled to Kauai and have stayed over the years to the Coral Reef. The staff are excellent and the gem of this hotel! The management of the property has been neglected. The elevator was broken, the laundry facility was unavailable, the room smoke detector was covered with a garbage bag, the VCR was missing the control. Once we were able to get another control to work with the vcr, the movie we were going to watch was not in the case. Whoever is managing this facility needs to do there job!

Beach view is unobstructed and fantastic. The staff is very friendly. The shower dripped continuously, the elevator stopped working during our stay, and the toilet handle needed some jiggling.

The hotel is decent but definitely needs some repairs. The location and pool are both great, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful. We were able to borrow some bikes for free to use around town which was nice. They also had some movies you could borrow which would have been nice if we had a remote to use the dvd player. We also couldn’t get the tv to work and the handle on the toilet was broken. The place seems to be held together with thumbtacks and tape but it is still a pleasant stay. If you keep the windows open beware of roosters crowing early in the morning, as they do all over the island.
