We 3 nights away and wanted somewhere with a pool and breakfast. This place looked nice and at £92 a night seemed fairly cheap. The pool was an extra £5pp per day and it was in the T&Cs of the booking (Nobody reads the T&Cs), we just felt as if we were being ripped off. The problem with having a cheap price point was that it attracts some of the wrong kind of people and there were two lads sat in the second reception area (below the snooker table (that was ripped and had no rests)), who put the TV on too loud, sat with no shirts on and smoking in the doorway. The manager and staff member who dealt with me when I was complaining about the charge for the pool were not rude, but not helpful or polite. The breakfast was OK. The food on our arrival night was expensive and the portions were small and quality was OK. We stayed during the heatwave and their was no aircon and despite the room having a fan and we took our own, but the room was just too hot all night. The surrounding area was picturesque, but lacked amenities. Overall, we wouldn't stay here again.

I didn’t like the fact that I have to pay £5 to is the pool and gym facilities and an extra £3 for towel. That is ridiculous when it’s clearly advertised as part of the hotel facilities. If that isn’t part of the hotel why say you have pool and all that. It’s absurd charging extras to use those facilities when you’re clearly spending the night or 2 at the hotel.

We went for a relaxing break with a rare evening away from our children. The room was pleasant with a nice view of the lawn. The bed was very comfortable. The room came with a brand new coffee machine. On arrival we noticed a lot of dogs at the hotel, which whilst a little unusual, wasn’t of concern. At midnight a dog started barking and this carried on throughout the night until 4.30 am, the barking then continued from 7.30. Neither of us managed more than two hours sleep. I’m not sure if the purpose of a hotel if it’s impossible to sleep there. The next morning we took ourselves to the spa. The Jacuzzi and the steam room were out of action. No one mentioned this at the spa reception. It left just a pool and a small sauna. It’s a real shame. This hotel holds special memories for us as a couple and it’s in a lovely area, with good restaurants and pleasant walks. It completely ruined our plans and evening of relaxation.

Lovely hotel and grounds. Booked in for 2 nights breakfast included. Wide range of breakfast including fruit juice. Hotel did look understaffed at a busy period. Nice decor, rooms could do with a bit of maintaining. Window latch broke toilet roll holder broke. Spacious room though. Went to use swimming pool etc had to pay 4 quid each for using them. Never had that before when stopping at hotel with leisure facilities always been free to use unless you require a treatment you obviously paid for those.

Were not warned to enter car details into their system. After i asked if still required as had put them on check in form, i was casually told 'probably best if I didnt want a ticket. Also did not offer directions to room (over 200 in hotel with no obvious signage from reception). Just felt they weren't interested in guests. Room ok, but tired. TV remote batteries either flat or remote warn out. No bath mat so had to step out onto damp floor. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, space was too small for numbers of people, with queuing to get in. Had to squeeze through two rows of tables to get to food/drinks and kitchen and only wide enough for 1 person so having to wait for for other guests and staff clearing tables, with constant jepardy of getting something down your back. Choice of fresh fruit/yogurt very limited, croissants either stale or not properly cooked as very chewy. Cooked food was quite nice.

Beautiful hotel, Acres of Beautiful grounds, lovely pool and gymnasium. Located perfectly, just 5 minute walk into market bosworth. Highly recommend a stay here.

This place has gone downhill I’ve stayed many times over the last 10 years. No house keeping , can’t use the spa for free anymore and a whopping £49 a week to use the internet/ this will be my last stay here.

We booked this as a spa weekend in the description makes it sound like you pay for extra services but no you have to pay to use the pool too, hotel is very rundown also look to be some no paying guest staying there too.

Reception was adequate and the room was a good size with a large bathroom but a little “tired”. Enjoyed the spa ( pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and gym for £4 pn) and breakfast was good.

First room was filthy, we were then told to pack our bags and go to reception to hand in the key before we could be issued the key to our replacement room. Was far from impressed when after carrying our bags down 2 flights of stairs only to carry them straight back up the 2 flights of stairs again because we were given the room right next door to the one we had just left. Also had to repeatedly ask over a 2 hour period for the dressing gowns that were clearly advertised as being in our executive room but were nowhere to be seen. I also think 2 pillows 2ft apart on a superking bed a little bit inadequate.

Upon arrival there was a lack of parking spaces available. We had to park and walk to the hotel from down the road. Considering the size of the hotel which has 200 rooms, there was clearly not enough spaces for guests. When entering our room we noticed it was not particularly clean, the floor had crumbs on it which we felt on our feet. Some areas were a little dusty also. We wanted to have a bath but there were hairs in the tub and on the walls. In addition to a couple of bugs on the bath tub floor. There was also, mould around the baths surrounding sills and on the taps. Rust can be seen on the shower curtain rail. We didn’t have a bath because of this. There was makeup marks on the towels. When we wanted to watch tv all we could see was a service and signal message on the middle of the screen and that’s all we could see for the entire time it was on. We attempted to call reception on the phone provided in the room but all we heard were beeps. We were annoyed by this and instead of going to the hotel restaurant and bar to eat we left to go elsewhere because we could only imagine what the state of the kitchen would be in if the room was that unclean. On the day of checking out we again attempted to complain or explain our issues but there were no staff to be found anywhere around the hotel, including the reception. We wanted to use the spa which was the sole reason for visiting the hotel but we felt like it could be unclean also so we didn’t bother.

Bed was un comfy, woman on reception nearly gave me a heart attack when she said it wasnt paid for and that i had to make a payment there and then… until she realised she was mistaken. Breakfast… 5 mouth fulls of food… everything had a twang too it. Scrambled eggs were awful. Room was clean. Very noisy on as guests above moving around… awful floor boards. Hotel its self was clean and nice.

The hotel desperately in need of the renovation and updating of the rooms. Moved rooms 3 times within days, faulty radiators, poor water pressure, cracks and dents on the side of the bath, faulty sliding wardrobe door, stains on the bathroom floor! The list goes on!

Beautiful building, some nice communal area, our room was clean but needed attention. Shower so small husband 6”2 was unable to stand under the shower head. Hotel far too busy to cope with people for breakfast and food at tea time was average

The room was cold. Was told by reception the heating came in at 6pm.it didn't. The bed was hard. The pillows were also hard and too thick so you got a crick in your neck. There were hairs on the tiles in the bathroom which was also very dusty. The extractor fan fan didn't work and there were only a couple of pkug sockets. The plus side was the a tassimo machine and a fridge in the room.

Expensive for what it is. Cheap flimsy plastic glasses in room. Bathroom extractor and TV not working on first night. Reported faults to reception next morning. Came back at night extractor still not working, TV had only 1 channel, with no update from staff/reception. 3 night stay, room would not be serviced. Could not book anything to the room, evening meal required a trip to reception to buy a voucher, glass of wine with the meal required me to get up from the table, go to the bar and pay by card (no cash accepted and could not charge to room) before returning to my meal with the drink. Anything you wanted you had to go and sort it out yourself, all staff seemed unwilling to do anything to help you. Had a better stay in a Premier Inn last weekend. At least they gave you a proper glass in the room. Plus I was staying in a so called Executive Room, normal rooms could only be worse.

The basement family room was dysfunctional with the TV placed in an odd position not suitable for any of the beds. Also the floors boards above were very creaky and sounded like a herd of buffalo were in the room, affecting my sleep.
The basement family room was dysfunctional with the TV placed in an odd position not suitable for any of the beds. Also the floors boards above were very creaky and sounded like a herd of buffalo were in the room, affecting my sleep.

Although reflected by the price, my room and bathroom were tired, the mattress had no springs left, the floorboards from the room above were noisy. Dinner was a school dining room buffet, basic but edible. The night I got was at the bottom end of the price range for this hotel, I wouldn’t willingly pay more…

Excellent Hotel for a passing traveller like myself. Very comfy room. Only minor downside is that free wifi is only available in communal areas and couldnt even get phone reception in my room. Wou;ld use again without any doubt.

Room was nice altho a little dated and only one plug socket? Two twin beds pushed together which wasn't very comfortable, a regular double bed would have been better. Hotel itself is beautiful, as are the grounds. Paid for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was adequate but don't waste your time with the dinner, it was inedible, I dont know what they were thinking with that food. And you also have to pay to use the pool, the only hotel I've stayed in that charges you to use the pool. Overall if I wanted a quiet night away and the price was right I would stay again, however, I wouldn't pay for the food, just the room.

Were not warned to enter car details into their system. After i asked if still required as had put them on check in form, i was casually told 'probably best if I didnt want a ticket. Also did not offer directions to room (over 200 in hotel with no obvious signage from reception). Just felt they weren't interested in guests. Room ok, but tired. TV remote batteries either flat or remote warn out. No bath mat so had to step out onto damp floor. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, space was too small for numbers of people, with queuing to get in. Had to squeeze through two rows of tables to get to food/drinks and kitchen and only wide enough for 1 person so having to wait for for other guests and staff clearing tables, with constant jepardy of getting something down your back. Choice of fresh fruit/yogurt very limited, croissants either stale or not properly cooked as very chewy. Cooked food was quite nice.

There was a constant noise from machinery, like air conditioning. Not exactly sure what was causing the noise, however it kept us awake all night. It got to 4am and we decided to leave and come home early.

It is an impressive building which must have been grand in its day. The rooms are very dated, only double, not kingsize beds, bathrooms small with a cheap but servicable shower over the bath. The room was too warm for us, which made for a poor sleep. The hotel is very noisy with every footfall and creaky floors, heard clearly in our room.

It took nearly 11/2 hrs to check in due to staff shortages. More staff should be trained to deputise in such circumstances. Having said the lady looking after the queue was excellent and should be highly commended for her service. The parking was appalling. I went round and round in circles for over 30 minutes.

Were woken at 04:30 by banging from other guests slamming doors and then kept awake by the continous noise. We went to reception where the staff member said, quote "What do you expect me to do about it?" - a phrase which should never be used in customer service. Bed was uncomfortable. Ceilings were too low in the bathroom. I was too tall for the shower and I'm only 5ft 3". Advertised on the website as 2 restaurants and a bar. 1 restaurant (only open on Friday and Saturday evenings) was closed even though we stayed on a Friday evening. The other restaurant had a poor menu and the bar was all taped off. A temporary bar was open where we waited 10 minutes for someone to come behind the bar and serve us. Location was the only nice thing for us but if you don't like small, quiet villages then it's not for you. Will not be staying again.

Second time here. The building and grounds are fantastic! Customer service is lacking severely. If you are looking for a relax and reset it’s ok but be prepared to have to pre book a time for breakfast which is annoying. At breakfast be prepared to hear the challenges from the staff with how busy they are. I personally can’t sleep without 2 pillows and asked for some more at reception. I didn’t think this was a problem as the person on reception had no guests to attend to and was not doing anything…. 2 hours later… no extra pillows so I went ask again to find her wiping reception. Again I was told they would be brought to the room and I did explain I was tired and wanted to sleep but couldn’t without extra pillows. My partner then called to ask what the issue was to be told people needed checking in and they were very busy and we needed to just wait. They never arrived so I had a really poor sleep. But for the location I wouldn’t bother again to stay there as the staff clearly don’t care.

Beautiful place, great staff only happy to help, huge thanks to the catering team whom assisted with a dietry need, the place is well maintained although could definitely do with a lick of paint a bit of maintenance in places and a spruice up in places but that did not have any affect on the stunning place i for one will be booking once again when in the vacinity again

Staff were so helpful. Jackson ( I think), was excellent to highlight one of many. Nothing was too much trouble.he followed up on any query. Made sure we were comfortable in the heat, had plenty refreshments liaised with the chef the theme of excellent service is a common theme for the hotel. The hotel is historical. Well looked after beautiful grounds and proximity to local food options. I didn’t use the restaurant as I explored the neighbourhood with friends. The spa could be better explained especially lockers and changing but it was very well kept and again staff were helpful. Pool was lovely next time I will try the gym too. Thanks for a wonderful stay

The best part of my whole experience was Alison the receptionist. She was warm, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable and personable. It’s one of the best chats I’ve encountered while staying in a hotel. I travel a lot for work. You don’t get many people like her around these days. I’m not sure how much she is paid but can flat out tell you it’s not enough. She is a valuable member of staff and you should do all you can to keep her. Everything else was mediocre but made better by this experience. Many thanks

Expensive for what it is. Cheap flimsy plastic glasses in room. Bathroom extractor and TV not working on first night. Reported faults to reception next morning. Came back at night extractor still not working, TV had only 1 channel, with no update from staff/reception. 3 night stay, room would not be serviced. Could not book anything to the room, evening meal required a trip to reception to buy a voucher, glass of wine with the meal required me to get up from the table, go to the bar and pay by card (no cash accepted and could not charge to room) before returning to my meal with the drink. Anything you wanted you had to go and sort it out yourself, all staff seemed unwilling to do anything to help you. Had a better stay in a Premier Inn last weekend. At least they gave you a proper glass in the room. Plus I was staying in a so called Executive Room, normal rooms could only be worse.

two night stay on a business trip so looked for a good value hotel and got a very good deal for 2 nights in a very impressive building. Bosworth Hall was pretty amazing - huge 18 Century country house with some beautiful public rooms and lots of historic features. It was a pity it was dark when i got there as i would have liked to have a look round in daylight and the grounds looked interesting and the building is very impressive. Lots of parking outside and in a very handy location for Leicester, Hinckley, etc. My room was fairly basic with a comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, a couple of chairs, desk, kettle, TV etc - all the basics you expect. My room was downstairs and a little chilly but the upper rooms and corridors seemed to be a lot warmer, that said, I was perfectly comfortable. Early start so did not bother with breakfast but it looked ok. Ate in the bar in the evening and was very happy with my meal - well cooked and tasty. Overall a very impressive hotel - would like to have a short break there with my wife.

Breakfast cooked for 100 people at same time but only 10 in the restaurant and selection of fruit was poor. Went into town to eat second day!! Had to pay additional for anything including the gym and was not allowed a tab so had a seperate receipt for every transaction including drinks. Room was not made up in a 2 night stay. Atmosphere overall very negative on a tired building with poor food so not good value for money at £129 a night.

A grand building that once inside has obviously seen better days. Decor and restaurant dated. Evening meal very poor, dried out steak pie, lukewarm soup and school dinner sponge for desert. Breakfast suffered same fate, food out for ages under lamps, everything dried up. No one appeared to be maintaining the buffet.

TV remote batteries either flat or remote warn out. No bath mat so had to step out onto damp floor. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, space was too small for numbers of people, with queuing to get in. Had to squeeze through two rows of tables to get to food/drinks and kitchen and only wide enough for 1 person so having to wait for for other guests and staff clearing tables, with constant jepardy of getting something down your back. Choice of fresh fruit/yogurt very limited, croissants either stale or not properly cooked as very chewy. Cooked food was quite nice.

We could not eat anything at the restaurant as no food was labelled and we have food allergies. We contacted the hotel before our stay, so this should not have been a problem. Nut roast sitting in the same tray as roast beef and gravy for example. Very poor, we had to eat elsewhere!!

I was worried as per other reviews. I have worked in hotels, pubs and catering for 25 years so I understand how these things can be. The staff were young,all friendly but I would say just need a bit more experience and training, the building and accommodation are all a bit tired, but I think that is reflected by the price, you cant have it both ways unfortunately. The food included was a buffet style, I think they can do better, while it was nice and not to bad value, just needed to be a bit hotter and labels on what dishes were. Buffer style serving is always difficult to keep piping hot. It needs stirring and refreshing often. I spoke to the chef very friendly and the beef stew was really good. I suspect the food is not freshly made but frozen brake bothers. Not bad but could easily be better. The hotel grounds themselves are beautiful. The room was ok. Not all modern, no AC, but this is an old building and again the price point I still say is value for money. The bar was nice the pint I had was £6. Wi-Fi in rooms require a fee but free everywhere else. There was a pool table and a snooker table. I would stay again.

Beautiful building, some nice communal area, our room was clean but needed attention. Shower so small husband 6”2 was unable to stand under the shower head. Hotel far too busy to cope with people for breakfast and food at tea time was average

Room was good for the price. 10 minute walk into the lovely village of Market Bosworth, although there is an even quicker way via the church. £5 per day to use the spa and gym, good value. Booked a table in the restaurant for 7.30pm on Sunday evening. Assumed it was in Cromptons restaurant. Got there at 7.20pm, it was all locked up. Walked round to Jennys, they were expecting us, we were told that we could sit at any table for 2. Hadn't realised/been informed this would be buffet service. Lots of food no longer available despite us having booked. Partner complained to reception. A young man came and took photos of the servery. The meal was disappointing.

Leisure centre was excellent lovely pool staff and facilities very good we booked half board this turned our to be a very same buffet there were no labels on any food to say what was contained in dishes, and only two meat options and one veggie option in the hot food, and this was with chips or rice All of this was luke warm and was self service and for such a nice building is a very poor option. for an location with such lovely grounds the basement room we were allocated had a crap view We could hear footsteps on the floor above very clear and the noise of the water flushing from rooms above kept us awake, along with all the banging doors. the bed was not comfortable at all

The room has 2 plugs that are shared with the appliances, so you have to unplug to charge or work on a laptop. There are lights next to the bed but nowhere to plug them in. What is the point of a light where there are no plugs. The room was overbearingly hot with a fan that is damaged to the point the electrical bits are exposed. No toilet brush! Bed and pillows were comfortable. The check in staff are not friendly at all. The restaurant food was well below average. Bar staff are friendly. £5 to use the pool even as a guest and £2 for a towel, that is just insane.

For a hotel that promises so much, Bosworth Hall Hotel delivered so little. The rooms were of poor quality, with any modifications/decor completed on the cheap. Sadly the facilities were equally below expectations. The Spa, which is charged at a premium, (despite being advertised as a Hotel and Spa), had seen better days, the sauna was not working and the hot tub was completely unmanaged and uncomfortably full of foam. An additional health & safety note for the hot tub is the lack of steps to get in. We witnessed couples struggling to enter and exit without causing injury to themselves. It was good to hire the 'new' bikes, however, these had not been fully set up and I had to assist the staff with securing the handlebars etc. Arrival at breakfast was an experience, resulting in the staff asking us to clear and prepare our own table as they were setting up dinner on another area of the room - this was 45 minutes before breakfast was due to finish. We then watched other guests having to do the same whilst we eat. I feel like I could go on, however, I am sure that you have enough information here to make a decision. 100% NOT value for money - spend elsewhere is my advice. Good luck
