Great old hotel in the middle of a lovely unspoilt village. Very good parking, lovely clean room, excellent service but above all, very dog friendly. A good English breakfast prepared us for our onward journey. Great place, will stay again.

What a lovely hotel! Really excellent customer service from all of the staff. I had requested a room with exposed timber beams, and on check in, the member of staff (sorry, I didn't catch your name) went out of his way to ensure that this was what we got. The room was lovely! Beautifully furnished with sumptuous fabrics, comfortable bed and sofa. There is plenty of parking which seemed very safe. The hotel is in the middle of the small village, so well located for exploring. Also easy to walk to the bus stop (10 minutes) to catch the bus in to Oxford. Tasty breakfast with options for cooked or cereals and the like - or both!

It was great - but one thing to improve is the visibility of the small step just outside room 2. I tripped on it twice. The bathroom is a bit tired, the shower head needs attention and the cracks in the basin indicate that a refresh is needed. It would have been good to have a radio in the room but the tea making facilties were good.

We stayed one night, very impressed with the service and staff on our arrival. We were given a chioce of rooms which we found very helpfull. The rooms are immaculate as they are newly decorated. Food in the restaurant was absolutely first class as was breakfast the following morning. Overall one of the best value places we have stayed in. We will definitely be going back.

Lovely room aith adequate wardrobe space and a huge shower room. Our room was very close to the kitchen vent which was quite noisy especially when we had to open the window. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff and great location in this beautiful village.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out that our room was a whole suite. It had a lot of character and was very comfortable. We had dinner & breakfast there and the standard of food for the evening meal was excellent along with the very good service.

This was a one night stop over only so hard to make fair judgements. But after an exhausting day the large comfortable bed and bedding were very welcome. Our room was noisy though from the adjoining room with the sound from the TV on from 7am when we were desperate for a lie in. We had no shower products in the bathroom and the flush on the toilet was dodgy. Breakfast was freshly cooked and adequate - just need to keep supplies topped up. There was no bread to toast at the buffet and we had to ask for it. All in all it was ok - not excellent as there is always something that can be improved.

The overall stay was lovely and the service from the whole was excellent, all very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us, we were a big group and the staff deserved a nice big table for us for breakfast. The only negative was our room was very tired, however the others that were staying all said the rooms were excellent

Das Hotel hat Charme, ein altes Haus, in welchem die Zimmer renoviert wurden. Das Personal wirkte leider nicht wirklich interessiert, egal ob am Empfang oder im Restaurant/Pub. Die Speisekarte online stimmt nicht mit jener im Restaurant/Pub zusammen. Dort gibt es lediglich eine kleine Karte, wo die meisten Gerichte nicht verfügbar waren. Wir sind dann in ein anderes Hotel zum Essen gegangen, welches ausgezeichnet war.

An excellent stay in an excellent location, made all the more special by the attentive nature of the staff, where nothing was too much trouble. From sorting out late night taxis, to extending checkout times for one member of our group, nothing seemed to be a problem. Comfy rooms and excellent breakfast, equals we would return in a heartbeat.

Great old hotel in the middle of a lovely unspoilt village. Very good parking, lovely clean room, excellent service but above all, very dog friendly. A good English breakfast prepared us for our onward journey. Great place, will stay again.

What a lovely hotel! Really excellent customer service from all of the staff. I had requested a room with exposed timber beams, and on check in, the member of staff (sorry, I didn't catch your name) went out of his way to ensure that this was what we got. The room was lovely! Beautifully furnished with sumptuous fabrics, comfortable bed and sofa. There is plenty of parking which seemed very safe. The hotel is in the middle of the small village, so well located for exploring. Also easy to walk to the bus stop (10 minutes) to catch the bus in to Oxford. Tasty breakfast with options for cooked or cereals and the like - or both!

This is a very unique quaint Hotel. Rooms are comfortable and modern in an old style original hotel. Food in restaurant fantastic. Walks are good from the Hotel to the river Thames and around town to the Abbey. Loved our stay here.

Very quiet traditional Inn with great breakfast. perfect for a working hotel as Breakfast was served at 7.00 to 9.00. Plenty of parking and a co op opposite that was open late for any forgotten items

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it! Location: Remote village although close to Oxford and other nearby towns, the actually place doesn’t have many amenities although does have a co op opposite! We really enjoyed the local short walks before we checked out. Staff: Staff were friendly and nice during our stay. Breakfast: Big breakfast and you get coffee/toast and cereal too so very filling! Room: We asked for a slightly accessible room due to me being pregnant. The room we were given was very big however very dark! And I think in hindsight I wouldn’t mind going to another room if it meant it was less old perhaps. The facilities and room was quite outdated but it was very quaint with wooden beams etc. our toilet got blocked and I did inform staff but it didn’t get resolved before we left. We could use the loo by reception at least in the morning.

This was our 2nd visit. The staff are helpful and friendly. The on-site parking is a bonus. Breakfast is delicious and the evening menu is very varied and the food excellent.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating, it’s a shame that check-in is so late at 4pm. The room was very nice, clean and tastefully decorated. We had dinner at the hotel, food was nice, quick service but quite expensive, as are the drinks, but I suppose the pricing is online with area. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would recommend.

Das Hotel hat Charme, ein altes Haus, in welchem die Zimmer renoviert wurden. Das Personal wirkte leider nicht wirklich interessiert, egal ob am Empfang oder im Restaurant/Pub. Die Speisekarte online stimmt nicht mit jener im Restaurant/Pub zusammen. Dort gibt es lediglich eine kleine Karte, wo die meisten Gerichte nicht verfügbar waren. Wir sind dann in ein anderes Hotel zum Essen gegangen, welches ausgezeichnet war.

Une chambre au final très chère (110£ sans petit déjeuner) au regard des prestations. Chambre toute petite, porte d’époque qui n’isole ni du bruit ni de la lumière. Lit très mou et matelas usé au centre donc peu confortable.

Breakfast was lovely - great offering both continental and cooked. Staff very welcoming and polite Location was perfect. Room could have done with a touch up as quite a few paint chips on the desk and walls.

Beautiful pub and village. The surrounding area was stunning. Staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Fantastic breakfasts and roast dinner!

A mixed bag, old building so bedroom & bathroom certainly not to modern standards! Evening meal was poor and expensive however the breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was very nice. All staff were very friendly.

The White Hart is a very comfortable fusion of "olde worlde" with modern comforts. Yes, it has a lot of low beams in the bar area, traditional ales on tap and even a well in the reception area. No, it doesn't have sawdust on the floor, and spitoons in the corners (thank goodness). You will have a very warm welcome from all the staff, a choice of two restaurant areas serving locally sourced produce cooked very well. The menu might be limited by some standards but the variety should cater for most tastes. Prices seem typical for what's on offer, and the portions are generous. As to wine choices, popular styles are available by the glass, less well known varietals by the bottle. Breakfasts were delicious - full English had outstanding quality items. I hate neon pink sausage and scrambled egg that you can bounce off the floor. No worries of that here! Our room was clean and spacious, and the decor was fresh and what might be called "memorable". The bathroom was outstanding - maybe the best of any establishment I've stayed in! Would we return? Most definitely. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us so well.
