Oakdell Motel WATERFORD CT

I didn’t have high expectations for a “motel by the roadside” so you could say this place surpassed my expectations! VERY CLEAN and happy with the amenities provided such as mini fridge and microwave, perfect amount of towels, basic toiletries and extra roll of toilet paper under the sink. Motel under new management- can tell there were some recent room upgrades (fresh coat of paint, new flooring, and some of the bathroom fixtures) giving a bit of a facelift to an older property. Owner is very nice and you can tell she cares a lot about making the place as pleasant as she can, given what she had to work with. The only comment is there was a slight musty odor to our room due to lots of rain that wkd but went away once we turned the heat on- oh and secondly, that I would ask her to improve to some better pillows, as these were a bit dinky for my neck preference and made for slightly uncomfortable tv watching, ha- but the choice of cable channels were good enough though for a wkd and WiFi worked great otherwise. Picked this place due to its convenient location between Mohegan Sun and New London train line while being more affordable compared to the other options closer to the casinos (that frankly most didn’t look like a whole lot more value for the absurd prices they were charging)!

Clean rooms, accommodating staff, pet friendly.

Rooms were clean, front desk lady was nice, located in nice area. Some things are a bit outdated but very nice overall

It was very warm, but the bed was horribly uncomfortable!

The staff was great. Room was a bit dated though. Floors were very dirty.
