I arrived after a long day with 3 kids in the car. They were really excited to swim in the indoor pool. But when we checked in and asked about the pool hours the guy told me it was closed. I picked this hotel because it had the indoor pool. And an email about it being closed would have been nice.

The desk person was wonderful. Great smile, very personable, and helped with several issues we had with the room. Check in was fast and efficient. The hotel is undergoing renovations, so the pool and hot tub area was closed. The hallways had small construction debris, especially in the staircase. The room was clean and well stocked for coffee. We had no TV remote, and the one they brought up didn’t control the TV. Quickly corrected at the desk by programming the remote properly. The shower had not been cleaned well (water spot residue), and the open design causes water to get on the floors. Our soap and shampoo/conditioners were all used - again, it was quickly remedied by the front desk clerk. Breakfast was good - advertised as continental, but also had scrambled eggs and sausage with waffles, too. A little slow on keeping things full, but not bad. The breakfast area was too small especially with a full house. Overall, the stay was good but the price not. Charging full price when half your amenities are unavailable (and NOT mentioned on sales websites) makes the stay over-priced.

The first room that we got was dirty. The toilet was dirty and the shower was dirty and the floor needed to be vacuumed and it wasn't dusted. Went to the front desk and the gentleman there was wonderful found us a nice clean room. That made her stay much better and he was wonderful.

We stayed here under different ownership , which was not great. However, the new owners have improved this by 100%. Everything is super clean, new, updated. No more yucky carpet! Room was super clean and comfy mattress with enclosed protector, clean bedding, new bathroom that was spotless. The windows are new and secure. The pool has also been updated. It's saltwater, has towels and complimentary pool noodles, swim rings, beach balls and water wings for children. It had wide steps in but not ADA. The staff were friendly and gave us lots of fresh chocolate chip cookies. We visit SLV often and we will only be stsying here from now on.

Staying by the side door is extremely noisy. Interior door needs a softer close. Hot tub was down for the 5 days I was there. I grabbed a milk from the breakfast refrigerator and it was spoiled. Showers have no pressure and no door, so it stays cold, even if you warm it up. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The desk staff at the Baymont was very friendly and helpful during our stay, however there were a few issues that should be addressed. 1. The room fridge turns off when you turn off the light switch at the door. This makes no sense and we had a bunch of food (and our lunch plans) spoiled. 2. We were in one of the renovated rooms but there was no cold water in our sink and the beds all have metal bottoms which are weirdly loud. We accidentally kicked them several times and heard other rooms doing the same. 3. One of the coffee makers in the dining area didn’t work, but we were told they weren’t replacing it until they used up the supply of coffee pods that fit it. Again…that makes no sense. The coffee came out cold and I had to toss it anyway.

Beds were a tad squeaky. If you sleep still dont worry about it. Also we dont like the sink outside the bathroom. Some hotels still have this. Other then that the hotel was very nice. Oh get your own ice becuase they have it refilled and they run out.

On arrival learned we did not have a first floor room and there was no elevator, suite was on second floor all the way to the end- moved a Suburbans worth of stuff to the room (was in the 90's and at high altitude for us sea level people) Wife went to flip a dirty cushion on the couch to reveal a bloody, body fluid filled cushion. called the desk and they said they would provide another room, down the stairs, back up the stairs all the way on the end of the other upper level. I stated I didn't want to move all of my items that far and they said , so sorry and that was all they could do- not that they would assist etc. I then stated I would would just cancel. Staff after about 30 minutes of me moving stuff back to car stated that they were going to charge me for the first night. I eventually spoke with the Manager who stated that they were in fact going to charge the first night because they offered a room to us. She stated her staff would have helped move our stuff even though they did not offer to assist. Manager also stated she would contact Expedia so I didn't have to. 3 weeks later I contacted Expedia and at least got the other charges removed. was very dirty with rear door propped open with Pine cones. Zero stars

We went to Monte Vista to see the Sandhill Crane migration which is quite remarkable. The Sandhill Inn is six miles from the wildlife refuge, so convenience was key. The Inn is clean and functional. The pool was closed for the season which is odd for an indoor facility, but I'm sure staffing accounts for that. The place is fine and much less expensive than nearby Alamosa. We would stay there again without hesitation. Breakfast was okay and hit the spot after sunrise bird watching.

I’ve stayed before & went back, expecting a similar experience. I think they are under new management since my last stay. Room was clean & staff was nice. But I was expecting a hot breakfast & there was only cereal, toast or bagel, and a waffle maker. Serving trays for eggs & meat were empty. Also the heater in the room was quite noisy. Would probably try a different place next time.
