Barceló Ixtapa - All Inclusive

Me gustó el lugar, que tiene fácil acceso a la playa, la plaza para los shows muy amplia y bien por el tejado, lo que no me agradó mucho que no se siente calefacción fuera de las habitaciones, es decir, pasillos, elevadores, restaurante donde es el desayuno y la cena se siente demasiado calor, al menos poner ventiladores, el resto todo excelente

Hotel was clean and staff friendly. Lack of umbrellas and none on the beach made it very hard to find shade.

El hotel Barceló nos dio un excelente servicio. Tienen buenas actividades en la alberca, gimnasio, la playa del hotel es accesible y con salvavidas, las áreas para desayuno y comida están bien ubicadas, pero el área de cena se siente un poco calurosa. Hay buena variedad de alimentos y también buena variedad de shows en las noches.

Property needs air conditioner in public areas/dining areas. Bathroom had a leak in the roof. Shower only had a half glass, water would exit the shower area and leak into the room. You had to be extra careful to not splash water everywhere. Air conditioner in room didn’t work well, was still somewhat warm inside the room. Night time shows were entertaining but need better fans/AC. Very limited options for dining. Similar foods every day. Could only do 1 “ special” dining reservation for every 3 days you stay at the hotel.

Pros. Beautiful beach. Pools Friendly staff and people. Clean. Nice rooms Quiet. Cons food at buffet was so so but breakfasts and Italian restaurant were good. Lack of written information such as room service menus and general facilities services. Had to scan q codes or look at Facebook photos for info. Jacuzzi would have been nice. Cab driver to airport tried to rip me off for $35 instead of posted $25. All in all a great r

WIFI was offline a lot and difficult to sign back in.

Beach lounge chair reservation system by placing a towel to reserve isn't ideal. people were arriving at 6;00 am to reserve a place in the shade.

Security was holding the bed pools for no reason

Beach & pool chairs were always taken even though they weren’t being used. Very difficult to find a place to sit. Was not informed when I booked that the all inclusive had different levels. I have stayed at another Barceló establishment in Cabo & that was not the case at that one. Not too many food options for children.

Simply a great getaway! Location Pool & beach & staff are wonderful! 4 time visiting. Only thing that could improve is check in information given regarding reservations several guest were confused including us that have been at different Barcelos! Staff was not too friendly at front desk. Possibly having an app to follow through the schedule. & change in the menu more variety for the buffet.

Se inundó la habitación el drenaje de la habitación sacó aguas negras en dos días consecutivos y supuestamente fueron a reparar y limpiar no fue así y mi familia no pudo entrar al baño durante horas

The food fruit smelled sour because there is no air conditioning. I had to let the people know that there was a fly in the yogurt. Little knats or mosquitoes where flying all over the fruit. The shower was clogged as well as the sink. The shampoo was rancid and there was mold under the shampoo dispenser. Mold around the sink. We had to request for more towels and toilet paper, etc.

More than dirty, it was old and unkept. No hot water, the food choices were the same everyday. The options were not great , the ice cream machine was always broken. The rooms were old beds, broken tile, the water in the bathroom sink would not drain, in the shower either. I feel we overpaid for what we got. Terrible place.

Property could use some updates. Our first room smelled like sewer. Unfortunately the only way we could move rooms was to pay an additional fee to upgrade.( we were already premium) It was an awful smell so we paid the added fee.I have never stayed at a resort that would require that. It was unacceptable in my opinion. I loved the area so when we return to Ixtapa we will stay elsewhere.

The service was excellent, the place was clean and kept up. I would go back in a heartbeat. People are very friendly and the shows are great. I would highly recommend

No se tiene variedad en la comida, siempre sirvieron los mismos platilllos, además el cuarto tenía una fuerte olor a drenaje lo cual se reportó. Las camas también ya están en mal estado

Muy limpia

Falta un poco de mantenimiento a las habitaciones y el internet wifi que ofrece Barceló es muy malo. La comida muy bien, el personal excelente, es muy amable.

Es un muy buen hotel... no me gusto que el frigobar de la habitacion no servia, en fin de semana se lleno el restaurant de la cena y nos mandaron a otro que no tenia variedad de comida, el internet es malisimo. Pero por todo lo demas esta perfecto

Very nice hotel love that you can just walk across the street. The entertainment and restaurants are very good. The hotel pools are nice swim up bar is wonderful. The rooms are nice. The beds are not queens they’re just full size but worked. Bathrooms are the only down fall about the room. Very small have to stand in the shower to open and close the door. I will be going back.

The mattress was lumpy the bed was not comfortable. Changed room and the mattress was still not comfortable and still had lumps. The water would not drain in the shower because the floor was uneven and the water wouldn’t get hot we took cold showers😟. This was one of the worst hotels that I stayed in on vacation and it’s a Barcelo????

Beautiful views, very pretty family suite. Shower was terrible, no curtain and whole bathroom floor would be soaked. Called maintenance five times to fix air conditioner in main area and was never fixed. Food was okay, not much variety. Servers and waiters very nice. Nice pools.

We had a great view of the ocean and saw beautiful sunsets everyday from our room. The staff is very attentive and friendly, food was great and the nightly entertainment was very enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and loved the minibar with water and soda refills daily. This is our second stay at a Barcelo hotel, the other being Huatulco and can't go wrong, we are planning our next Barcelo stay as we speak...thank you Barcelo.

Well they need to improve they rooms, there a little bit old and are mini bar was not working. We had to call them couple times to see if they could fix it. Until they bring us another one. The AC was not working properly but was cold enough to keep it. The staff form the restaurant very friendly and kindly. The receptionist they need to improve their costumer’s service.

The room was clean but dated. On our first morning the rooms had no electricity. That same morning the main coffee machines were down for 2 hours. Many upset guests. Food was subpar at best. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean.

The resort location on the beach was great, with a beautiful ocean view from our room, although a very tiny balcony. We enjoyed sitting on the beach under the palm trees & walking the beach. The restaurant/bar serving staff were great...friendly and efficient. Most of the food was good, with a variety of options. Some TLC is needed for the facility - our balcony door was loose and rattled every night. The shower head was very loose and a few times we had little water pressure. There were several cracked floor tiles & the bathroom door was delaminated at the bottom. The tables in the outdoor breakfast area were all very wobbly. The wifi is very spotty & we constantly had to log back in. Some in our group had to go to the front desk several times to regain their access. A friend in our group had a great deal of difficulty getting the front desk staff to sort out a double charge in her reservation. It took her 5 trips to the front desk & a request to speak to a manager before a resolution was finally made. She still did not receive the total refund she was owed, but was told she'd get a deep discount on her next visit. Poor customer service with that situation. Overall, a nice place, but not the 4.5 star rating we'd thought it was before going...more like a 3.5.

We came down on our honeymoon. We found the staff were very amazing. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. I would’ve given a full five star review but a couple things stood out to us that we found to lower our rating. 1. No one told us anything about the resorts many attractions when we arrived. They just signed us in and we were left to our own devices. My wife and I had to hunt down maps and figure out where everything was 2. The concierge times are unknown and not posted anywhere. We asked the front desk several times where the concierge was and they kept pointing to an empty office. We eventually found out they showed up at 9am (maybe) and stayed for an uk own period of time. 3. This resort uses a beach which the public uses as well. We were not informed of this at all. It didn’t damper our experience whatsoever but we found that we didn’t trust our things left j attended at all. 4. The bars are all staged times of open and closed. We had to figure it out our own way as there was no map or pamphlet explaining which bars were open when. Or restaurants The good things! The food on the Friday Mexican party was unreal. Best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The bartender at the smaller pool (had braces, can’t remember his name) was amazing and super friendly. Mr. Joy at the front desk helping with the bags was a delight! The Barceló team made up our bed with lots of roses in a heart shape for when we arrived. I found that to be an amazing and thoughtful gift! Thank you!

Front desk helpfulness could improve. Other than that service at the pool area and at restaurants were great and very helpful they gave us more info than the front desk

No good service

We had the impression that Barcelo was a 5 stars hotel. To begin with our experience on the day of arrival at the reception they had a security male ordering me what to do instead of offering help with the questions we had. We pay for the Premium Level and we expect such service. The lobby was a mess full of luggage all mixed up, the reason why we wanted to keep our belongings with us. However, I was yelled out by the security guard with orders instead of enlighting us on how to proceed with the registration and giving us peace of mind that he was there to take care of our belongings. The housekeeping personnel was amazing, always smiling and willing to go the extra mile to help. Food and Beverage: Bartenders, waiters, and waitresses were most of the time smiling and helpful at their capacity. As a Premium Level guest one night I ordered a cabernet sauvignon at the small night club and I was served a very disgusting kind of red wine. I had to go find the bar manager in order to get what I ordered :-| At one of our a la carte dinners, I ordered a filet mignon what a disappointment, this piece of meat almost break my molar, seems like they didn't remove the connective tissues on the tenderloin. The pool facilities were clean. However, the pool manager or supervisor needs to enforce the POOL RULES. They were many lounge chairs empty, but reserved with towels. Sometimes one towel reserving two or three lounges. Honestly, my family and I will not come back to this Barcelo.

Pésimo atención; cero criterio del personal íbamos toda la familia y no quisieron juntarnos mesas para la Comida, nos dieron la habitación en Villa y no en el hotel y no contaba con elevador, el aire acondicionado parecía que tenías una turbina del avión en el recámara. La villa era viejísima. Pésimo hotel, super elevado el precio sin nada de calidad.

El Sr Vladimir de Check in nos dio un pésimo servicio... Su actitud era pésima; contrate el premium y hasta que le dije es que me paso a atender en el salón premiun, iba con mi pareja y me asignaron una de dos camas, no me dieron habitación en piso premium y los chicos de barra de la alberca primero atendió a los extranjeros siendo que dos veces le comente que ya me tocaba... Es la primera vez que voy a ese hotel y la verdad me decepciono...

Desde la llegada con problemas, la avenida cerrada por el triatlón y no fueron para advertirlo, orientación vaga para ir a estacionamiento alterno, llegué con mis maletas cargando y el personal ni se inmutó. La comida regular, esperaba algo mejor por lo que pagué. Según tenía derecho a una cena a la carta, la cual fue imposible reservar por falta de cupo, no sé por qué la ofrecieron si no tienen la capacidad de cubrir la demanda. En otros hoteles hay meseros ofreciendo las bebidas en el área de alberca y lobby, aquí hubo que ir a buscarlas. Sus cocteles muy malos, la mejor elección fue el vino y la cerveza, que estuvieron mucho mejor. Para el snack, tenías que entrar al restaurante que lo daba y siempre estuvo lleno. No considero volver.

The property is well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ery safe feeling at hotel and across the street where they are very friendly and helpful also. Love going to Ixtapa!!! Barcelo is the best hotel so far!

The staff are amazing. The beachfront is amazing. Location to the golf course and shopping, is amazing. Our sliding door didn’t shut properly so we had a hard time keeping our A/C going. You had to get up really early to save chairs. And the buffet dinner was not good. We went out for dinner most nights. Breakfast and lunch were ok. Overall we will go back but this is no where near a 5 star resort. It’s more like a 3

Older property, great service, right on the beach.

Brand new pools, loved the pool water temperature, hotel is not luxurious, but very convenient in any sense, simple, but it has everything what is expected from all inclusive, easy and fast to get there from airport, shopping right behind the hotel with many small restaurants, feels very safe, room smells fresh and clean, beach is clean and swimmable with warm water. Relaxing , clean and convenient are the words.

We have stayed at Barcelo properties in the past and have always had a great experience. This particular property needs a bit of work, and it is showing its age. The beach is stunning and one of the best in Mexico. The food was a bit monotonous and below average compared to most resorts of this calibre. The staff were very pleasant, but most did not speak English very well, if at all. This did not affect the quality of our vacation, though. It is a great place if you are looking to relax poolside or walk on the beach. If you are looking for nightlife or shopping or really good food, you will be happier somewhere else.

Great beach, great pools. Variety of dining experiences was disappointing compared to other all-inclusive resorts I have stayed in in the past. Also, can’t explain why, but all three of us came down with “turista”. Could be because they reuse plastic drink cups.

We enjoyed everything about our stay except for the quality of the food and the alcoholic beverages included in the All-Inclusive. The variety of options from day to day were very limited and the food was rarely hot. We were very disappointed in the food and drink.

Beautiful location, clean facility and very courteous staff. Food options and quality was sometimes lacking. Friday evening fiesta was excellent.

I like that the hotel offers a daily night show for entertainment. I disliked the way they determine a la cart dining. We stayed 4 nights and were only offered 1 a la cart dining option as part of our package. If we wanted more, we would have to pay an additional fee.

The staff were great, the room was nice and clean upon arrival also were given our room around 2pm which was perfect. Good for family vacations and the drinks were okay. Food was good too but they don’t really change it much, so about the same food everyday. The good thing is they have a few restaurants

The buffet was a bit repetitive and became tiring. No cafe offerings in early mornings. Buffet opens at 7:00 and ideal for early risers. some staff very friendly others not so much. Night life/acitivities not ideal.

El servicio es excelente, lis bufete son variados y muy ricos, que lo q no nos pareció tan bueno son las cenas de especialidad, las raciones son muy pequeñas y ben el caso de lis cortes, pero parecen más bisteces. Los shows muy bien preparados y los bailarines lo hacen muy bien. Las bebidas en el bar muy azucaradas. La playa, y albercas muy limpias, y super lindas.
