This is an old fashioned hotel. The internet is free but unsecured and slow. The listing for this property stated that guests would have “access” to a pool at a neighboring property. This is misleading. The “neighboring property “ is the local public pool that literally every human has “access” to. The hotel has no special deal with them. When I questioned the desk clerk about this he got snippy and suggested that I go swim in the river if I wanted to swim for free. The public pool wanted $44 total for myself, my wife and my toddler to swim for an hour. Needless to say we had a disappointed 3 year old. Also, the property is in terrible condition. I realize that it is an old “historic “ property but old and historic doesn’t have to be dilapidated. This property is.

hotels.com listed as having a pool when I reserved. There is not a pool. The advertisements are misleading. This hotel operates as a hostel and long term/temporary housing, shelter vibes. There was an orange needle cap on the hall floor. The bed was new and good water pressure, the only good things I have to say about this place. It’s incredibly dated, has multiple weird mildew/mold type smells throughout. Carpet is likely as old as the building itself, there were signs telling the residents of the hostel they are not allowed to use cooking devices in their rooms for risk of fire. Check in took a bit and my daughter was so sad to learn there wasn’t a pool, when I booked I had filtered to ONLY look at hotels with pools and confirmed at that time in the amenities that this hotel had one, upon check in I asked and was told no. Staff asked where I saw that because I was the second person this week to ask. I didn’t feel like the room door was secure and barricaded it for our one night stay, I was traveling alone with my daughter and just had a weird feeling like this wasn’t a safe place for us to be. Some of the other (what I assume were long term guests) only further upset my nerves, my daughter and I explored each floor of the hotel since it’s an old/historic building, my daughter looked through drawers in common areas and found a sharp wooden thing and she literally said “mom, are they gonna kill us?” I assured her no. Totally ripped off. I paid $160+ but rate today was $95.

Due to it being a very old and historic property, this place won't be for everyone. If you don't mind the charm and quirks of an old building, you will enjoy this stay. My only complaint is that there was not a coffee maker in the room but they had fresh coffee available in the lobby. The staff were very nice and helpful. It's situated in a cool area surrounded by shops in a nice little town.

This is a very old property. Rooms were very dated but clean and comfortable. Elevator was broken so we had to lug luggage up the stairs. Excellent loction to stay at if you are in town for a play at the theater which is just around the corner. Several restaurants nearby.

I am very confused at all of the 10 ratings. Look through and find the terrible ones and that will tell you. It looks like it has been abandoned and not used in decades. Carpet and furniture from the 1950’s strained and dirty. Parts of ceilings falling down and poorly patched. I mean we were truly shocked. The sheets and mismatched towels seemed clean but that was it. Missing parts of tub and sink. Truly one of the worst hotels I have ever seen and I am not picky. All of the 10 reviews have to be fake.

Extraordinarily run down property. Peeling paint on the ceilings. Bathtub with no stopper. Breakfast provided turned out to be a $4.50 voucher at a dive down the block. Front desk staff did not care that there was a bat flying around the 2nd floor hallway. What a poor value for the money

Very clean room and friendly staff. Nice fireplace in the lobby and vouchers to help pay for breakfast at restaurants next door. That being said we had the two connecting rooms and they were very small and dated. Unfortunately you could also hear the noise from the bar across the street but it got better once they closed (I recommend asking for an interior room) Beds were ok but not great for comfort. Also when we booked we weren’t aware that the Two rooms were connected by the bathroom, which made for an awkward night. Also the only room amenities were a refrigerator in one room and a chair in the other.

This is a older hotel. Close to many activities, food, train, etc... Needs Improvement: Enamel on bathroom tub peeling, bathroom door sticks so that adults have a hard time getting out, chairs are thread bare, blood on bed cover.

Very old property. Bathroom shower was just a curtain and drain on the tile floor. No room darkening shades so room fully light at sun up. No one cleaned room during our two night stay despite signs in bathroom advising on where to put towels if we wanted clean ones. Overall Clean and nice staff but would not stay here again.

This is a very old hotel. Pipes running throughout the room. The floor in the room was so slanted, you felt like you were going to topple over. Comfortable and leveled bed. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great location! great service! Room is clean and nice. We really had a good time there. The facility might be a little bit old but it is perfect ofr vintage style lovers. Downside: it is close to rail road. And tain will horning in 2am, 4am... There is no thick curtain in the room so if you are restrict to sleeping env.

This is a quality motel right in the heart of downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable but a bit old fashioned. No vent in the bathroom so everything got very wet from the steam. Not as many modern conveniences as you find in other places, but still very charming.

You definitely get what you pay for. This place was good enough for a quick one night stay before a ski trip, but DO NOT stay here in a street facing room if there is snow in the forecast. As it is an old building, the walls are very thin and there was a plow in front of our window from 2-4 am which kept us awake. Not the hotel’s fault, but it definitely ruined our experience. The place is quaint, the front desk staff was a bit rude, but overall it was a cheap bed to sleep in.

The hotel is an historic gem. As such, the building has aged. There are no level floors, the bed is on a slant, but the worst is the steam heat. When that came on at 10:30pm, the noise drove us out of the hotel.

Worst mattress X two. There were 4 of us staying in two rooms. Mu toom was 100. I loved the old feel to the hotel. I didn't mind the slopping floors. I did mind the mattress that felt like box springs. When I mentioned this while checking out, I was told they had just been replaced. My sister mentioned this also to the staff unbeknownst to me and was told the same thing. If sleep is important to you, look elsewhere.

Great old hotel vibe. Definitely not your cookie cutter hotel. Easily can feel like you are transported to a diffrent time. Rooms with high ceilings, exposed pipes, beautiful old wallpaper, creaky floors, grand staircase. Room was very clean. Bed very comfortable. Checkin was easy, excellent, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Complementary coffee,tea and hot chocolate in lobby. Great food nearby. Walkable distance to train station. Will definitely stay there again!

Historic hotel, so some things are to be expected. However, the elevator was out of order. The bed was so very uncomfortable. Shower drain did not work efficiently, so I was standing in almost 2" of cold water. The biggest issue we had was that upon arriving I requested a late checkout, and was told that was no problem. The next morning my wife received a rude call from the front desk asking her why she wasn't checked out yet. Historic hotel, so some things are to be expected. However, the elevator was out of order. The bed was so very uncomfortable. Shower drain did not work efficiently, so I was standing in almost 2" of cold water. The biggest issue we had was that upon arriving I requested a late checkout, and was told that was no problem. The next morning my wife received a rude call from the front desk asking her why she wasn't checked out yet. Property is obviously old which not as big of a deal. Pillows and bed are pretty hard. Elderly guy at front desk was pretty rude not just to us but to other guests as well.

Historic hotel! Awesome corner king room. Yes, trains go by regularly but we had no problems with the "toot toooot" bc of the RR tracks nearby. Non-smoking so theres a cute court yard out back you can go if needed, parking is there too... very convenient to Dartmouth Hitchcock also. For the price well worth it!

The gentleman at the front desk was delightful, helpful, and a joy to be greeted by at the end of a long journey of traveling and day with my kids at Dartmouth. The room was cozy and warm and the bed comfy. The town of White River Junction was quaint and quiet with lovely restaurants. Who knew I'd get a voucher for breakfast at the lovely cafes on the block?! :) I will definitely be back.

Very clean room and friendly staff. Nice fireplace in the lobby and vouchers to help pay for breakfast at restaurants next door. That being said we had the two connecting rooms and they were very small and dated. Unfortunately you could also hear the noise from the bar across the street but it got better once they closed (I recommend asking for an interior room) Beds were ok but not great for comfort. Also when we booked we weren’t aware that the Two rooms were connected by the bathroom, which made for an awkward night. Also the only room amenities were a refrigerator in one room and a chair in the other.

Enjoyed staying in this historical hotel, a nice change from a chain. Staff were very helpful. The breakfast offering is a smoothie bar attached to the lobby, but she offered waffles and chia pudding as well as overnight oats which were great.

Due to it being a very old and historic property, this place won't be for everyone. If you don't mind the charm and quirks of an old building, you will enjoy this stay. My only complaint is that there was not a coffee maker in the room but they had fresh coffee available in the lobby. The staff were very nice and helpful. It's situated in a cool area surrounded by shops in a nice little town.

The hotel staff are all very very friendly. I like them a lot! The building is an old apartment building, not an excellent property, but pretty well managed. My suggestion to guest here is to not have breakfast in the downstair smoothie place. The smoothie is made out of some pre-mixed powder and did not strike us to be healthy or tasty. And it is expensive. I like the Turkish restaurant on the corner - forgot its name - though also pretty expensive. it seems nothing around the area is priced reasonably, the difference is quality.

Here's the thing about the Coolidge. Its old. They don't hide that. However, the rooms are clean, the staff is nice, you can walk to dinner and sweet art galleries. I was very happy with my stay. If you like sterile hotels this isn't the place for you. If you like hotels with some character and fantastic staff definitely give it a try!

I have mixed feelings. The website pictures looked great, comfy and sorta romantic. I paid for a suite (180+ a night x 2). We knew the hotel was old but at least spend a little for cleaning, paint, clean carpet, rain leaks and maybe larger smart TV. The king bed bent in the middle and was not comfortable. I felt I way overpaid but we chalk it up to “the experience.” The good: excellent location, great staff, nostalgic, lobby/hallway decor is precious and the little cafe attached is cool.
