Sleep Inn & Suites Stony Creek - Petersburg South

We were greeted by a lovely young lady at the front desk. Our beds were so comfortable. However the pool was not open at all. The lady that worked in the dining area was extremely rude to us with a greeting if “We are closing in 10 minutes. After that a guy came in with a child and she went right in the back and got him eggs, but never offered them to us. She was also very nasty to another man that came into the area as well. I treat all people the same and that definitely was not the case here. She gave us an attitude.

Room size was good. Room was clean. Small indoor pool was good for the kids. Glad they had a treadmill & exercise bike, because running outside didn't seem safe due to the road it was on.

Unfortunately, after i came to check into the property i was informed that the pool was Not available for use. So, i was disappointed and canceled my stay at this facility.

The service, breakfast, and room is terrific. The pool was very cloudy and undesirable looking. We chose not to use it.

The parking lot has plenty of spaces and is very well lite. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The color was very clean and nicely decorated. The smell and temperature of the room was excellent. The Jacuzzi was and added bonus that was not expected. Will stay in Sleep Inn's more often. Plus they have free buffet style breakfasts. Loved my visit here.

Outdated, could have been cleaner. Breakfast was pitiful and the eggs/sausage was gone within the 1st half hour and they did not put out more for 30 minutes or more. Chose.this hotel for its indoor swimming pool due to having a child with us, but the pool area was unkempt and we had to net bugs out of the pool for the child to swim. No bathroom in pool area. Would not stay here again. Staff was friendly upon check in.

Easy parking, clean, well lit room. Nice staff. We didn’t stay for breakfast but the price was right for a quick stay-over when you’re on the road.

Located right off of I95 next to a Hampton Inn and a Residence. There is a small Italian restaurant, two fast foods, a gas station and a Starbucks in the immediate area. The hotel is nice and a better value than the Hampton. All three hotels seem to offer similar amenities. The pool is indoor but very cold, the exercise room is very small and needs a fan to circulate the air if you do any workouts. No walking trails out the door or nearby. There is a washing machine and dryer for guests, it requires a credit card. I think vending machines are in the lobby area along with free coffee and tea. The breakfast is a standard “hot” breakfast most hotels seem to offer. I’ve seen better and I have seen worse. Overall it was an enjoyable one night stay worth the price.

Overall the experience wasn’t bad. The room and hotel were dated but mostly clean. In general things could use an update and some maintenance. The biggest stand out flaw was that we tried to take the kids swimming and there were literally frogs (varying from tadpole to frog) in the swimming pool. The breakfast was pretty standard, scrambled eggs, sausage and a waffle maker, next day scrambled eggs, sausage gravy. Continental options also. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I wouldn’t necessarily go walking around the neighborhood after dark but felt safe and slept well.

Bathroom in the room was super dirty. Hair still in the shower, soap residue on soap holders in the shower. Dried urine (???) in the back of the toilet. Couch in room had multiple stains or dried food on places. Linens and beds did seem clean and fresh.

Well they weren’t able to apply my aaa discount second I booked a double bed and when I went to the room it was a single bed and my six year old walked in and said the room was dirty. There were stains on the wall and the room did not smell clean or good at all. When I went down to change rooms the clerk was very nice and accommodating. The second had the two beds but the bathroom had mold in the ceiling and what looked like dirt/ rust in the middle of the tub. I get it it’s not a Hilton but there should be something when the rooms are inspected that they want to change.

Room was not clean. The tissue dispenser in the bathroom was rusted and had crude all over it. It was disgusting.

Right off of the highway and had a hot breakfast. Not a new property though. Showed its age and our tub had a gross big stain all around the inside.

The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Wish more places had such good customer service! When we pulled back the comforter on the bed the sheets had hair all over them. Long hair and pubic hair. It made my night uncomfortable. I did ask for new bedding. Showers and bathrooms have rust and a bit run down. Again, staff was very accommodating.

The room stinks like mildew - floor was wet around air conditioner - paper peeling in bathroom and mold was visible - everyone was very nice and room was clean as far as housekeeping - but the smell and dampness and mildew will keep us from staying - on our way home we’re staying at Fairfield inn next door because we cannot stay in this hotel again

Mattress was not firm. Everything else was good.

Beds were soft, shower was fantastic. Quiet and very conveniently located right off the highway.

Despite good ratings when I booked, the hotel seemed dated and worn. It appeared to be well cleaned, but the tub was clearly old, tired, and well worn. The bathroom's wallpaper was falling off. The shower barely had enough pressure to shower.

The staff were friendly and helpful but the property seems a bit in disrepair. We were told we could not have a first floor room because all the TV's were broken and, since we were traveling with a child, they wanted to give us a room that had a functioning tv. That said, our 2nd floor room tv was not working either. The ice machine on the first floor was not working and the staff stated that sometimes it did and sometimes it did not which made it seem like an ongoing problem. The only other ice machine was on the third floor on the opposite end of the hall from the elevator so you had some distance to go to get to it. The 3rd floor a/c was not working in the hallways so it was quite hot and stuffy up there. Our room was quite comfortable and decorated very well. My only issue with the room was that the tub and fixtures in the bathroom appeared dingy and old. Also, as mentioned, the TV did not work. The beds were comfortable and the ac was cold and the room was clean. The breakfast is stated as continental but they do have hot food options like waffles and something that would have been in a chafing warmer but on the day we were there, no hot food was available because the employee responsible was late and not there in time to have it ready.

The first room we were assigned had a defective door lock which would not let you reliably open the door with the card. When I complained they gave me a different room.

Only reason I did not give it a complete 5 star is the walls are so thin I could hear the people next door. One was snoring so loudly and the other was flip flopping on the bed so they could probably not fall asleep. In turn it took me a long time to be able to fall asleep!

Great Value, Location

The hotel is convenient to Interstate 95 with quick on/off access. Starbucks and some resturants are nearby. Hotel is clean although the building is aged.

This hotel was very easy on and off route 95. There were restaurants close by, including a nice Italian restaurant and a Starbucks. The place was clean and the staff we very friendly.

Good location easy off and on from I 95

I’m pleased when we stay here for the price it is clean , no bugs , a wee dated but so are most hotels on 95 ! Staff is so friendly ! Breakfast is simple and fresh !

It was a good price. But the shower was a bit grimy. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was cheese omelettes, bagels, and coffee/juice. Usually there is “some” meat like sausage or bacon but this facility didn’t have any.

Only problem I had was there was no coffee for breakfast. Didn’t find that out until after I checked out so I could return to my room to use the coffee pot provided. Since this is unusual you should tell guests that they must make their own coffee.

I overall gave the property an excellent rating. I will, however, mention a few things. There was noise from the hall and adjacent rooms that easily made it through the doors and walls. The hot breakfast had waffles, sausage and potatoes, but did not include an egg choice, which I would have preferred. The check in made me feel very welcome, and also provided recommended dining options. There were at least two dining options within walking distance and I found the Italian restaurant to be a very good choice. Overall, was very pleased with the stay.

Sausage patties, home fries and NO eggs = terrible breakfast.
