Super 8 by Wyndham Myrtle Beach/Market Common Area

The outside of the building looked promising...and then I went in. The first thing that took me by surprise was that since I paid in cash (U.S. legal tender) I was required to give them a $100 deposit, also U.S. legal tender. Although I understand the concept, it would be nice to know that upfront on their site. Then, I get to the room...The ceiling was miscolored, either from a previous leak or mold, or both. The caulk around the tub had mold or mildew on it. The shower head would not move! There was no comforter on the bed, it felt more like a curtain. The hallway smelled better than the room. Went to check the pool out...don't believe the photo on their site, it was more the size of a hot tub. I did get my deposit back and the room was just (okay) for one night. I wouldn't stay more than one though. I myself will not be returning to this particular Super 8 in the future.

Check in was a little rough. Staff member was rude and kept talking over me and Interrupting my questions. After mamger got invovled, all was good. Besides that only complaint was more towels were needed, especially being we didnt get any for the pool. Front desk said they didnt have any. House keeper told us she was out.

Do not stay here elevator always broke the rooms have hidden video cameras and crawls spaces I have pictures and all to prove it I just stayed there last week... Management dont give names... Please do not waste your money staying there if u dont want your business out...

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The pool was clean

Liked the nice and clean hotel. The pool was kind of small and they kept no pool towels out by the pool. Breakfast was okay but mostly ding dongs and twinkies. No yogurt or waffle makers.

So the entire first floor needs to only be used for people that are living in this hotel and if any staff needs to stay the night, the noise level on the first floor is outrageous, and the people that are living in the hotel are seem to be put up on higher floors, so they won’t become a problem but putting guest on the first floor is a No loud noise the floor, where you can hear TVs running at 4am people talking on the phones Literally waking you up after your sleep is terrible. Do not if you are gonna stay at this hotel, absolutely do not stay on the first floor. This floor is separated from all the other floors you have to go get in the elevator to get to the other floors and that should have them move me on the first day.

It’s was ok but not one I’ll book to stay at again, i disliked the slow elevator, toilets never fully flush and appears it wants to overflow, bed cover felt like the curtains they used for the room’s window coverage, and last but not least some meth/ crack head, red neck came out with a attitude because people parked within a spot that wasn’t labeled none parking just 2 cones that looked like something that fell from a visitor’s pickup truck or work truck, his attitude will be the reason something happens to him but other than that it was conveniently close to the mall as well as beach.

We liked our room as it was a king size bed and had a desk, chair etc. Bathroom was a little smaller than I would prefer but did meet the needs. Only issue would be we were in room 119 right by the back door to the pool and by the laundry and we had a non smoking room, which was fine but the hallway smelled like smoke and I believe it’s because people were smoking by the laundry and they were definitely smoking outside I. The pool area, but that was outside. Coming back, I’d request a 2nd floor room I think or one away from laundry/pool area.

The elevator was broken.

The staff is always friendly. My kids love the pool.

This is one of the worst place to stay. The place smell like dog and cigarettes as you enter. The room was dirty and very filthy. If you have another option but some where else.

Bed bugs cigarette burns in the beds and sheets there was poop and pee all over the toilet no air conditioning

First room I was assigned was dirty. Bed was moldy and the other bed had fresh blood on sheets. I asked for a change. Got another room. Sheets were stained, no blankets on beds just a top sheet thing, dirt in corners and a piece of molding missing, various repairs to walls. People next door we loud, having sex so loud their own dog was barking at them. The plumbing whistled and I could hear someone upstairs peeing in their bathroom.

Rooms with black mold, smelled of smoke, uncleaned prior to check in. Staff understanding when asked for fill refund and not staying ther but unconcerned when told of black mold, stated we just paint over it

All vents were extremely dirty, dust everywhere, terrible smell, sheets felt greasy.

The oddly colored lobby (and room) is dark, dank and screams of old paint and darkened lighting. It reminds me more of a LaGuardia airport than a tourist beach hotel. In the room, my vinyl floor was incredibly dirty and sticky, so I wore socks the entire time. I asked for it to be wiped, but not sure it ever was. Ceiling has a layer of dust (photo) that is disturbing and impossible to miss. Wall by the trash can had stains running down (photo), and most of the floorboard had a thick layer of filfth, again impossible to miss. The ironing board, in plain site, had stains and dust (photo), an odd thing to place in plane view for when you first walk in. Sink immediately backed up and took several minutes to drain (photo). The shampoo bottle was empty when I arrived. I nicely asked for it to be replaced by housekeeping. It was not. I opened a towel, and it had a dark stain (photo). Most of the fixtures in the room are worn out, rusty or missing paint. There were too many strange spots in walls and fixtures to photograph, and frankly the entire room could use a new paint job. The hair dryer had so much dust and lint in the vent that it let off a burning smell when on. WiFi was very spotty. I ended up turning it off and using cellular. Morning “breakfast” was old bananas, cereal, and tea usual cheap, hotel coffee in tiny styrofoam cups. It stopped serving at 9am, earlier than is typical for a hotel.

My family of 4 stayed for 4 nights. The free breakfast needs some help as they only offered waffles, toast, cereal and apples. Considering the cost of the room, though, I was actually pleasantly surprised with our stay. Staff was friendly. We received clean towels every day. Room was clean. Would definitely stay again!

Room was clean

The room was not very clean at all and had many issues in the bathroom and throughout the room. Cannot believe that this is owned by Wyndam. We had no choice of another room or hotel due to how busy and booked the area was. So, we tolerated it for the time we spent in the room. We were visiting family in the area and did not stay in the room except to shower, sleep and rest between things.

The room was filthy, the floor hadn’t been cleaned for quite awhile.

Not a bad place. Thin walls and loud pets. But slept well and they had shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower.

My room was very comfortable and clean however the phone did not work and the TV service had to continually be reset. Staff was very helpful and friendly .....especially Natalie the front desk clerk! She was upbeat and full of smiles! A pleasure to be around and definitely a positive asset to this hotel! I will definitely use this hotel again.

Why book a room for one night if you're going to wake up and find no hot water?

When we arrived the hotel smelled of stale cigarette smoke, the attendant was grumpy and very short when asking any questions. The room was very small and none of the outlets were tight enough to hold a plug. Other than the floors being replaced and the mattresses this building hasn’t had any updates in decades. An ok place to spend a night but not any longer.

The room was fine. Nice space. No carpeting, but flooring. Interesting. But the HVAC was so loud we had to turn it off and just deal with the heat. Luckily, a cold front had come in. Also, the lamps plugged in right at the mattress. This could present a fire hazard but definitely made the lamps flicker when you moved on the bed. Pets are allowed so there was a dog down the hall barking for a bit. But he/she quit before too late. I slept fine, the bed was pretty comfortable. Overall, I’d give it a B- as the hotel has definitely seen its share of use.

I didn’t like my welcome. When I arrived at the property the person at the desk was asleep. Then she was very rude to me when I asked why we heard an alarm and the fire truck was outside. Not sure what her deal is , if u don’t like people u shouldn’t work with them. She is why I give the bad rating. Get rid of her and have 5 stars. We were worried and she blew us off even after coming down from our room to ask. Shame there has to be some one bad egg

Staff was never at the desk. I wasn’t able to be checked in until after I called several times while standing at the desk. The tv remote didn’t work and the smart tv wouldn’t connect to The WiFi. I couldn’t watch anything. Overall service was terrible and I’ve stayed in all different quality of stays ; hotels motels etc.

Everything was really good there except for the night time front desk person was very rude

When I arrived the tv sound wasn’t working. Staff got it to work. Then my toilet overflowed. I was told to plunge it myself. Then when it overflowed again, it was suggested I ask for another room now that more were available

It was a decent experience. You get what you pay for so it wasn’t a luxury experience but it was comfortable and convenient. The room was clean. The staff was helpful. Location was convenient.

The only positive thing i will say is the bed was comfy. Shower curtain and sheets had burn holes. Floor was sticky and nasty. Some of the hotel staff is rude to other staff right in front of customers. Lastly the so called breakfast is just cereal and some cakes.

It was okay they need to improve their breakfast. The shower knob fell off and the shower head was coming off the wall.

Floors disgusting and breakfast is a joke. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Convenient to nearby attractions like Myrtle beach, broadway downtown.., room is clean and best room service, we had some issues water blockage at sync, but front desk staff responded, Randy fixed the issue, staff is very friendly, but bit waiting time and queue at front desk. Breakfast also ok, fruits like apple, banana, and cereals corn flakes , cheerios, milk, cream bun rolls, chocolate muffins, juices apple, orange, coffee, timings are 5:30AM to 9AM.

It was an overnight stay. At one time there was yelling and door slamming down the hall but only for a few minutes. The breakfast really was a joke as they were almost out of muffins and only cereal. No eggs waffles of breakfast type foods. There was plenty of fresh apples and bananas however.

I was grateful for planning in advance and the rate was amazing for the time we stayed. The breakfast offered was just waffles and cereal and can improve for a better perk, there were several dogs on the floor with fleas and a lot of barking, not sure if the flea issue was addressed after checking out. The minor issues experienced was addressed immediately. Overall, for the price, I would book again. Thank you for your service and hospitality.

Bed was uncomfortable,No hot breakfast as stated ,coffee like water.

The room was clean , smelled very nice. The supposed continental breakfast was horrible. I have stayed at this location for several years now and the breakfast has always been pretty good . I'm not sure when the changes occurred but Twinkies for breakfast just isn't breakfast in my book. The rates are the same as beach front hotels. We were a little disappointed but the room was very clean , housekeeping is excellent!
