Best Western Owego Inn

Loved the river behind the hotel with the patio. Good buffet breakfast. Too much disposable plates and plastic. There is no plug on the treadmill to plug into an outlet?! Bathroom sink is too high, I didn’t like that it was not in the bathroom. The ventilation fan did not work in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with nice pillows.

Pleasant, helpful staff. Clean room. Parking lot well lit and convenient.

Clean and staff friendly. Need to repair the broken gym machines.

Very Dark yet flood lights off. Phone, stove and Fridge (kept leaching water) don't work well or not at all. Hallways smelled dank even w/fragrant. H2O fountain in exercise room doesn't work Hall bathroom was filthy so was Guest Laundry. Exercise room didnt close at 10pm and both tv's stayed On. Luggage carts aren't conducive to bubble grid out front. Back area (on river was cluttered with trash and rocks under the piles of leaves everywhere beg for accident. No shower chair provided as requested & although maintenance guy told me he's come fix my stove so I could cook the food I purchased when first arrived seeing it, that too didn't occur- Beware- test b4 you believe the pictures. Lobby & Eating Area are nice/clean too but bring your cleaning and sanitizing supplies. Don't mind its old- Old things last if taken care of - thats Not at this location! Some don't mind dirty & dank! BW is a franchise, individually owned. Some invest in upkeep to last, others just collect what they can then sell- You decide!

Nice overnight stay for the money. Fast food close by and Owego restaurants about 4-5 miles away. Breakfast adequate. Did not use indoor pool or fitness facility but both looked well maintained. Staff very helpful answering questions.

The bed was very comfortable. The shower was dirty with mildew stains and had terrible water pressure. They only gave us one towel each for a 3 day stay. The downstairs lobby bathroom was disgusting, clearly was not cleaned at all during our stay. Each night there were 3 guys sitting outside the lobby doors pounding cases of Corona and throwing the bottlecaps all over the parking lot. Absolutely not a good value for the price and will definitely not stay here again.

This facility was an absolute dump…. Grungy towels, mold all around the bathroom, had to use my shoulder to open and close the door to the room, wanted to use the laundry but one of the washers was broke and they were disgustingly dirty and no fan in the bathroom.

Real nice counter people, clean, unreal water pressure in the shower, nice breakfast, fitness center needs just little fixing, but well worth the money.

The property is located just off a major thoroughfare. The security around the hotel's parking lot is nonexistant.

Bathroom was very dirty. You can see that housekeeping was horrible. Bedsheets were wrinkled and untidy. The place was decorated poorly. Carpets were old. Toilet paper roll was a leftover roll from before and there was not even an extra new roll. Toilet bowl was also very dirty. White towels were yellow! Extremely unsatisfied with the standard.

We got there at 3pm which was check in time but our rooms weren't ready until after 5. They said one of their dryers broke.down. I took a shower and had luke warm water, reported it. when I grabed a towel to dry off the towel was already wet. We asked for some compensation at checkout and they would do nothing. The room was not clean and the shower floor was blak. they

The bathroom was not clean. The mirrors in room looked like a greasy towel was used to clean it. Lamp and side tables were dusty. Linens and bed were clean. Room looked like it was empty for a while and all that was done was putting new bedding and towels in room. Would not stay here again. The receptionist was very nice though.

On the Saturday morning that I stayed, the breakfast was very sparse and not refilled. As far as cleanliness, in the bathroom, the bathroom floor needed to be mopped, and there was black mold on the ceiling near the bathtub

Carpets felt wet, room smelled musky, cobwebs in corners, stains on sheets, ratteling air conditioner kept me up most the night, hair in bathtub. Only decent thing about stay was quick check in and decent warm breakfast.

The worst hotel experience I have had in my life. The bathroom mirror was COVERED in toothpaste splatter, the faucet as well, there was absolutely no hand soap in the bathroom, the sink in the kitchen area was beyond gross, the floors were so dirty that after taking a shower I had a brown footprints walking through the bathroom, the handles of all doors were riddled with handprints, I could go on forever. After going down and talking to the front desk, he tried to move us to THREE different rooms, all of which had the exact same cleanliness concerns. We were told that we had to clean our own room because there was no cleaning staff on. We were literally given cleaning supplies and rags and had to go back to our hotel room after working all day and literally clean our own room. Management offered no resolution other than to take $50 off of our stay and offered to give me points that I could use toward another visit. The points were never deposited into my account, and when calling to follow up three days later the manager accused us of stealing a pillow and said that she refused to deposit points due to this. I ended up having to call corporate to file an official complaint because I am absolutely disgusted at this entire experience and the lack of concern from management regarding the cleanliness of their hotel. Not to mention we were advertised a breakfast buffet and ended up getting nothing but a continental breakfast that you would find at any other hotel. DO NOT BOOK!!!!!

We have stayed there several times. Always clean and friendly.

Our room was super dusty. The bathroom was dusty and super old The shampoo holders were broken and there was no body soap in the bottle. The front desk had no extra blankets.

The bathroom was beyond dirty. The shower had mildew and the bottom of the shower was disgusting

Nice location on the river. Shower floor could use replacing. Not bad value for price

It was so so. The room had a musty smell. And it appeared to me needing some updating.

We had to rent two rooms and despite booking about 2 weeks in advance we couldn’t even be placed on the same floor. The beds were smaller than the standard double/queen that we were expecting. At 11pm my family in one room experienced a large amount of water from the bathroom ceiling, ruining hygiene products, toothbrushes, etc. and her phone didn’t work to call the main desk with sleeping kids in the room. We enjoy having breakfast at hotels to save some money on meals out while traveling but this morning all the serving dishes for hot options were empty and we had to wait between 10-15 minutes for someone to come check and refill them.

Almost a great place to stay, we reserved a big room with a couch. Room was very big, but you could not see the tv from couch! They were on same wall, so we turned the very heavy sofa bed to see the tv, but the carpet was very dirty under the sofa! As big as the room was, the bathroom was small with a small sink counter that you could hardly put a travel kit on! Sometimes I wonder who designs rooms like this! Apparently they don’t stay in them. All that said we will book again, the breakfast and coffee were great!

The purpose for the stay was to work and I could not get logged into their internet while there. The staff on duty tried to help and referred me to an outside party that stated the problem was they had not paid their bill. The TV kept freezing up and resetting itself during my 2 hour stay and the manager that was call very rude in attempting to help me with my internet problem. I left the hotel and asked for a refund and at first they stated that I had to go through the 3rd party to get a refund and then was told that I would not be receiving a refund from them nor the 3rd party. They stated that the internet problem was on my end, but before I left I heard another guest complaining about not being able to get on the internet. I went to a hotel down the street and was able to get on the internet there. I would like to request a refund if at all possible. Thanks for your consideration!

The stay was great. Had a little trouble getting the temperature to regulate. The fridge didn’t seem to work noting stayed cold in it. Also the door had to be pushed really hard to open and close. The breakfast was awesome.

Tub did not drain properly, filled up while showering. Front desk was grouchy. Overall look was slapped together - numbers taped to wall crooked or falling off, stair way was filthy

The room was not the cleanest. I cleaned and wiped down all surfaces with lysol wipes. The temperatures outside was in the upper 90's. I set the thermostat in our room to 70 each day and each day we would return to our room and it would be hotter and the thermostat would show 88 or above although it was set on 70. It would take the room 4 to 5 hours to cool down to the temp set on the thermostat. I asked the staff and after numerous complaints was told that the thermostat has a motion detect sensor and if there was no movement in the room, it was turned off. So, while we were thinking we were going to return to a room that was a cool 70 degrees, we returned to a room that had no a/c all day and was slow to cool down. On Wednesday, 06/25, we returned to the room and waited until almost 2 am for the room to cool down to 74 degrees. It was a horrible stay. We had the room booked from 06/22 to 06/30, we were told we had to ask for housekeeping otherwise they wouldn't service the room. My husband and I took out the trash and cleaned our room each day.

Old hotel with kenmore apliances since 70 or 80s, rust and mold, dingy looking, double beds are full beds and not queen so hard for two adults to sleep in one bed. Breackfast was ok. Beds were pretty comfortable.

Checking in and out was fast.

Always an excellent staff

We used Expedia to reserve a room to stay in Binghamton university area. The first trip went well because the hotel was not greedy and agreed to terminate the second day reservation without any penalty. We expected the same from the Best Western Hotel that we reserved recently. We were surprised to find out that the Best Western is greedy and refused to refund for canceling the reservation for the second day. We did notify the front office staff who checked in. So, we gave the hotel 24 hours of advance notice. However, Barbara, the Assistant General Manager, refused to refund the full rent for the second day. She did agree to refund a partial amount deducting a fine for canceling the second day after the intervention of the Expedia staff. The Expedia failed to notify us of this second day termination policy. It is also unavailable at the time of reservation. When we reported the problem to Expedia, the first representative did negotiate a partial refund, but the second representative simply said that there was nothing that she could do as the hotel decided everything! The bottom line is that the Expedia gets commission for directing customers to a hotel but failed its obligation to provide customers with necessary information about policies of a hotel.

Convenient to the highway. polite staff.

It was conveniently located off the highway while we were driving from NYC to Niagara. Needed good sleep and breakfast although I’m not a fan of the powdery dehydrated eggs. (Am a little spoiled by Holiday Inn Express eggs). Room was decent for a night stay.

we got a room with a river view, and we went barely a mile up the road for a wonderful dinner at MJ's Bar and Restaurant -- great place to stop for the night!

considering the occupancy rate when we were there, the quietness in and around our room was very good. the breakfast menu is excellent. Not just continental fare like much of your competition. Front desk staff and all other in-house support staff were great. Only thing we found that needs attention (room 202) and maybe others was the shower curtain. There's only one panel to the curtain which needs to remain inside the tub, but there's usually a second panel that goes outside the tub. the combination of the two does a much better job of keeping water from going outside the tub and getting the floor wet. I've seen the two panel setup work very well at other installations that we've stayed at.

The room was quiet and the price was decent. There were a couple little housekeeping quirks, such as an empty rug tape package being left on the desk and a rogue pretzel stick on the floor by the bed, but overall a pretty clean room. The breakfast room was large and was nicely decorated for fall, with plenty of hot breakfast options.

The Continental breakfast could be stocked better and with alittle more variety. Only one type of muffin, scrambled eggs were very overcooked and you couldn't scrape them out of the pan

It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and well appreciated. Staff was friendly.

Front desk was kind and helpful first night. From there things went downhill. There was trash in the sleeper sofa. Windows were dirty, dead flies on the windowsill. Floors clearly hadn’t been vacuumed. The breakfast in the morning also left much to be desired. Out of coffee, milk, and the juice dispenser would only produce water. Morning manager was less than receptive to feedback.

I like the river view in the back & seating. Enjoyed the breakfast especially the country gravy. Staff was helpful.
