Rooms and tv were dated, but clean…aside from the opened Dr.Pepper left behind in our fridge. Also didn’t realize until we got to the property that the pool isn’t open until June, which was the whole reason we chose this property with 2 young kids over the Motel 6 across the back lot for $30/night. Breakfast during the week was also a little disappointing after reading all the reviews about a really good breakfast buffet…we got a nutrigrain bar and cup of fruit in a paper bag. But as far as the rooms, location and the staff, all were top notch.

This is a great older hotel with a lot of character. I personally love the older hotels that are maintained well like this one. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The hotel has acquit parking. Not something I usually say about the newer styles.

The staff was very kind and helpful- especially our lovely late night check-in clerk. It was nice to have a pool that actually had a deep end. Unfortunately the pool didn't open until later in the morning. The internet wasn't fast.

There is no elevator! Ask for a room on the main floor if you don’t want to carry your stuff up a steep flight of stairs. Also, rooms smell musty.

This was a different, quaint and comfortable place for this traveler. The staff was super. The atached pub had excellent food, the included hot breakfast buffet was fantastic! The room was clean and comfortable, the shower pressure was awesome... might be too strong for others. The AC unit/dehumidifier were a little loud, but I still crashed for the night..

Check in was great. Room 200 was nice and big, but the bathroom sink was not clean. It had toothpaste spit in it, (very gross), also the coffee pot was not cleaned of coffee grounds. Made you kind of wonder how clean the rest of the room was. This could be a nice place with proper cleaning.

Overall, good stay. There was a decent size spider in the bed sheets that had to be killed. There was also large fairly large spider on the wall of the hall going from the lobby to the room that had to be killed.

This place has a lot of character to it! I loved the rustic feel to it. Beds were a little uncomfortable, the sink in the bathroom wouldn’t go down. The room had a musty smell to it. The floors were wet and damp I had to wear shoes every time I got up or had to go to the bathroom. The front desk staff were really friendly! Breakfast in a bag was a really good idea for people that don’t like getting up early. Overall a okay hotel for the area. They were doing construction in other rooms during early morning hours so that was a little irritating being in a room across the hall. They had a dehumidifier in the bedroom as well.

Nice older hotel. No elevator.. stairs only so park light or plan multiple trips up and down the stairs. The room we booked we were unable to enter because the entire door lock was not working. Waited in the hallway with maintenance for about 20 mins while he worked on it before asking for another room. In the new room, the air conditioner worked about 1/2 the time (just blew out room temp air set at 68) tv was going out so it was very dim. Water pressure was good but the temperatures changed every few seconds from hot and cold without touching it. Pool was very nice. Breakfast was good, but the employee taking drink orders was very rude. She told my 16 year old “come on hurry up and make a decision”.

Looks like a large older hotel with some renovation. Room clean.Linens clean. Had dehumidifier in room that cut on and off through night. Temperature regulation was difficult and heat/ air conditioning cut on and off frequently and it’s loud. A/C fanned air directly toward bed. Thus alternating between too warm and too cold. Pack breakfast was a joke. Oatmeal to warm up with hot water in room. Tiny packet of peach’s and a cracker. Didn’t eat any of it. Wish I had stayed elsewhere.

Foam mattress was HOT to sleep on. Never could get the TV to work. Had requested a quiet room, but was given the first one on the front hallway. Breakfast was only fair. A couple of curtain hooks had come off the rod at the window. Toilet tissue was uber thin. The room was very clean, which was nice.

The AC worked perfectly. No USB ports anywhere in the room. That could be updated. Breakfast included. It tastes okay. Nothing spectacular. HOWEVER, unable to bring back to your room and eat privately without having to pay extra. Ridiculous. There’s got to be a way that they can offer guests the ability to bring food to their room without having to charge. The “wait staff” was extremely unpleasant. At check out, the receptionist was on a personal phone call and tried to check me out at the same time. Kind of off-putting to have to listen to someone’s personal call. Very unprofessiona.

Loved everything about our stay with the exception of checkout. I got a text at 8am asking us when we were checking out 🙄 Checkout is at 11am. At 10:30 am, my husband came back to the room to get me after loading the truck and the key card for our room had already been deactivated. He couldnt get back in the building or the room. The lady at the front desk acted like she was aggravated when my husband went to the front desk to ask why his key card was deactivated already. The lady at check in was lovely, but our checkout experience was definitely not.

Front desk gets a 5 star. Management gets a zero for customer service. Came into town for a doctor appointment for my sick wife. Manager on duty would not allow a late check out in a huge empty hotel for my sick wife. Disappointed. Will not be back for future appointments. Across street is super8 and quality inn.

This hotel is old and in need of renovation. The room we had was dark and depressing. Primary color scheme was "brown!" Clerks were apathetic; barely greeting us when we arrived and not smiling. Obviously not a great place to work. The only staff that were smiling and helpful were the cleaning staff. Would never recommend or stay here again.

I had a great stay here & would definitely stay here again. It's a good solid hotel, just obviously not new. Their big advantage at this property is their staff. They were Johnny on the spot with any problem, question or recommendation. Especially a lady named Karen.

I was travelling for business and had a conference in Winston-Salem. The location of this hotel was right off of the highway, which made my commute lovely. Across from the parking lot, is a long shopping plaza which lead to another shopping plaza. Food and shopping were convenient. The hotel does not offer a continental breakfast, but I enjoyed getting a breakfast bag on my out to the conference day. The staff was excellent, friendly, polite, and willing to help. The hotel is old and needs some upgrades, but overall it was a pleasant stay.

Great quality for the price, excellent hot breakfast buffet on the weekend, close to many restaurants and grocery stores and right off the highway. There was a prom the first night of our stay and I worried it would be noisy, but it really was not at all.

There wasn't any breakfast to speak of. There is a breakfast buffet available on weekends only at a cost of $7.95/person and separate charge for a beverage. On weekdays they have a breakfast bag of high carb contents. Both my wife and I didn't bother with the breakfast bags either of the two days we spent at the facility due to diabetic concerns.
