If you want amazing views this is the place to stay. We had a small balcony overlooking the gorge. Downside is there is no air con & it was very hot. They provided us with a fan when we requested one. We had dinner on both nights we stayed & the food is excellent. We had reserved a table for our first night when we booked this hotel so we had the best table on the terrace. Amazing views. If you want a terrace table reserve as the terrace is quite small. They gave us the same table the following evening. We had breakfast on the first morning which was not very good. No meat/cheese vegetable laid out. A girl eventually brought out some plates of cling film covered ham & cheese. Some hard boiled eggs that looked like they had been in the fridge for a few days. There were some pastries & fruit. We were the only people at breakfast

Underbart litet hotel. Vi hade rum med utsikt mot Dalen. Trevlig personal och sköna sängar. Ett extra plus var restaurangen på hotellet som visade sig vara en gourmet restaurang. Fantastisk mat och gott vin. Hotellet är klassat med två stjärnor men jag skulle vilja sätta fyra! Två beror nog mest på att det bitvis är lågt i tak, mycket trappor och ingen hiss. Rekommenderar varmt detta hotellet. Enda minus var frukosten som inte serverade varm mat.

This was a very charming place with a lot of history. The views are stunning. It was very quiet and the staff were very friendly. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were very good. Highly recommend this place!

A hostel with lots of ancient charm and a fantastic view. We got a great deal (799kr). The breakfast was very good for 10 euros. The only negatives were the lack of water in the morning due to a problem that day, and the very small TV.

Really nice small hotel located in Cuenca's historic center just steps from the Cathedral. Great view of the mountains, the Parador and the canyon below. Enjoyed the room with old wooden beams and rustic look. The tasty onsite breakfast for a fee was a bonus since there aren't that many options nearby in winter.

Convenient location in a beautiful, old building with so much character. My room was clean, comfortable, spacious and provided great views. The breakfast was good and good value. The staff was very friendly, even schedule a taxi for me to get back to train station. Would certainly stay here again if ever in this charming town

We did enjoy our stay here. It was close to the sights. Our room was clean and comfortable. The two downsides were the constant music next door ( close restaurant) not the fault of the hotel and the WiFi would not stay on. They were very helpful when we needed it.

Personal amable y bastante limpio , pero aunque sea un lugar antiguo está bastante deteriorado y poco cuidado y las habitaciones no tienen persiana ni cortinas opacas, asi que amanece y a despertarse! Por otro lado se escucha todo del resto de habitaciones y pasillos, demasiados ruidos (conversaciones, grifos, cisternas...) La ubicación excelente

El hotel situado en todo el casco antiguo de cuenca, muy cerca de la catedral!!!. Es una de las casas colgantes, con unas vistas muy bonitas. El hotel es antiguo pero está muy bien conservado, muy acogedor y limpio. En cuanto al personal, todos muy amables y serviciales. Por decir algo que no es tan positivo, el tema del parking, que está retirado del hotel (público) y si lo quieres más cerca, tienen un convenio con un parking privado donde te hacen un pequeño descuento!!. En general todo genial, lo recomiendo 100% y el día que volvamos aquí (porque volveremos a Cuenca), repetiremos en este establecimiento.

Rigtigt hyggeligt lille hotel med fantastisk udsigt. Vi havde en terrasse med vinblade, hvilke var rigtigt flot og meget flot udsigt. Alt fungerede fint. Virkeligt flot velbevaret gammelt hus. Selvom der ikke var Air-con var værelset dejligt svalt, sikkert pga de tykke mure. Det var endda i juli måned.

Excelente ubicación. Las vistas desde el balcón son espectaculares y es un lugar acogedor. El desayuno es básico pero funciona muy bien antes de salir a conocer. Aún sin aire acondicionado y en un fin de semana caluroso, abrir la ventana durante la noche fue suficiente. El servicio es muy bueno y el estado de las instalaciones también.

I had a nice stay here (3 nights). My room was clean and I particularly enjoyed the balcony and mountain view. It was nice to be able to sit outside and relax. The location is great: just a few minutes walk from Plaza Mayor and a relatively short walk up to the area where you can see some great views The bus from the AVE train station (Estación de Cuenca-Fernando Zóbel) is easy to use and very convenient (it drops off/picks up at Plaza Mayor). There are also buses from the new or lower town that drop you off at Plaza Mayor, so if you walk down the hill to the town and don't feel like walking back up, you can catch a bus back up (L1 or L2 comes every 15 minutes). My only complaint would be the pillows...they weren't very comfortable for me (way too high and firm, even when sleeping on my side). Despite this, I really enjoyed my stay and I would definitely stay here again!

Hemos pasado un fin de semana muy agradable en la posada San José. Es tranquila, el personal amable y atento y en general es un sitio al que volveremos si tenemos la suerte de poder ir a Cuenca de nuevo. Las vistas desde la habitación, un lujo. Es perfecto.

We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Posada San Jose. The views of Cuenca from our room and from the dining room were priceless and so beautiful! The staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. You step outside of the hotel and you are within walking distance of all of the lovely sites of the historic center of Cuenca. I loved the "old way" of leaving your big room key at the front desk.

Beautiful location, a block from the cathedral but still in this nice quaint alley, the rooms are cozy with amazing views of the canyon and Old Town. Great service, truly recommend this stay, specially off-season you can enjoy it all.

Excelente ubicación. Las vistas desde el balcón son espectaculares y es un lugar acogedor. El desayuno es básico pero funciona muy bien antes de salir a conocer. Aún sin aire acondicionado y en un fin de semana caluroso, abrir la ventana durante la noche fue suficiente. El servicio es muy bueno y el estado de las instalaciones también.

We did enjoy our stay here. It was close to the sights. Our room was clean and comfortable. The two downsides were the constant music next door ( close restaurant) not the fault of the hotel and the WiFi would not stay on. They were very helpful when we needed it.

Lovely old business. Helpful staff. Our room had a terrace with the most amazing views of the gorge. Lots of walking options and trails. Lot of bars and restaurants in the old town. It is steep so good exercise for the legs! Alternatively there is a bus and a tourist train from the cathedral square. Will def return.

Really nice small hotel located in Cuenca's historic center just steps from the Cathedral. Great view of the mountains, the Parador and the canyon below. Enjoyed the room with old wooden beams and rustic look. The tasty onsite breakfast for a fee was a bonus since there aren't that many options nearby in winter.

This hotel is right on top of everything that a history buff would want to see in Cuenca. We looked out our window and we were on the hanging houses. The walkability is amazing. The staff are excellent.

Wonderful historic hotel with amazing views (from room and restaurant) and fantastic restaurant. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Cuenca!

If you want amazing views this is the place to stay. We had a small balcony overlooking the gorge. Downside is there is no air con & it was very hot. They provided us with a fan when we requested one. We had dinner on both nights we stayed & the food is excellent. We had reserved a table for our first night when we booked this hotel so we had the best table on the terrace. Amazing views. If you want a terrace table reserve as the terrace is quite small. They gave us the same table the following evening. We had breakfast on the first morning which was not very good. No meat/cheese vegetable laid out. A girl eventually brought out some plates of cling film covered ham & cheese. Some hard boiled eggs that looked like they had been in the fridge for a few days. There were some pastries & fruit. We were the only people at breakfast

Underbart litet hotel. Vi hade rum med utsikt mot Dalen. Trevlig personal och sköna sängar. Ett extra plus var restaurangen på hotellet som visade sig vara en gourmet restaurang. Fantastisk mat och gott vin. Hotellet är klassat med två stjärnor men jag skulle vilja sätta fyra! Två beror nog mest på att det bitvis är lågt i tak, mycket trappor och ingen hiss. Rekommenderar varmt detta hotellet. Enda minus var frukosten som inte serverade varm mat.

This was a very charming place with a lot of history. The views are stunning. It was very quiet and the staff were very friendly. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were very good. Highly recommend this place!

The hotel is in a great location and nice and quirky. However I thought our room was going to have a mountain room, but whilst clean and comfortable it felt more like a dungeon. Room 25, as we went to sleep there was fairly loud music outside and we had no view whatsoever. The room was dated and in need of a refurb. We ate in the restaurant and the view was great and staff great too. I’d stay again but request a different room.
