Super 8 by Wyndham McHenry Fox Lake Area

I have traveled all over the world and I have never experienced anything like this! 1st the smell of dirty old carpet, smoke and mildew hits you in the hallway, unfortunately we were on a road trip needing to get a few hours of sleep shower and change that did happen! We were just sitting on tge bed watching tv and we started to notice stains on blanket , we pulled the sheets back and was in shock! At first we thought it was just dirty and that the room was missed by house keeping so I requested clean linen only to find out that it was also stained I was only given a fitted and flat sheet, not pillowcases and or clean blankets, after requesting all of the above the replacement sheets were also stained and so worn that they were see through in certain areas the bathroom was also dirty The jets on the “Jacuzzi tub” that we paid a $40 up charge for, were filthy and disgusting didn’t even want to stand in it to shower, was offered a 2nd room the bedding was stained in that room also, the smell there is also bad, couldn’t stay there, we were on a road trip and ended up sleeping in the car that’s how disgusting this place was seeing and smelling how bad it was made me start to itch! We checked in at midnight and was gone by 1am! This place needs to close and have a complete overhaul. I was literally astounded that there were cars in the parking lot, I have no idea how anyone could sleep in there!

I had to get a refund for a misrepresented listing at that location. Less the $9 insurance cost that Hotels.com offered for $4.50...didn't know they charged me a mysterious $4.50 extra until the transaction was complete. Hotels.com is NOT a service I would EVER use again. It was an issue going thru a bunch of calls before I was finally able to talk to a live person.

Wasn’t able to cancel

The room was fine.However I stayed for a week and housekeeping never came to clean or replenish anything. I even had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper. Also no coffee pot in my room.

Room dirty, towels dirty, reeked of smoke in air and bedding. Worst room ever. I had to leave.
