Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Buckhead Area

No parking due to the next-door bar. People were using the hotel parking lot, therefore was no parking at night.

Front desk was so helpful. Elevator was out. So we were given rooms on the first floor. Rooms were clean. Only complaint I have was loud music coming from a venue next door. But there’s nothing that could’ve been done.

The staff was friendly ! Bathroom was a little dirty upon arriving but the biggest issue was no hot water for a shower and very little water pressure .

The parking lot is terrible. The spaces are too narrow.

Too many night clubs to share parking with. Nightmare

No automatic doors into lobby. no protein or Gluten Free selections for breakfast. no proper closet in bedroom.

THE WATER IN SHOWER AND BATHROOM SINK WAS JUST SHORT OF LUKE WARM. TOLD THE FRONT DESK SEVERAL TIMES BUT NO CHANGE

The room and common areas were clean but the common areas often smelled like marijuana. There is a strip club across from the hotel so if you stay on that side of the hotel you will be greeted with bright lights and noise late at night. The wheelchair ramp is located far from the handicap parking as well as the front door and the automatic door openers do not work. It was a smoke free hotel but that was false. Many guest were smoking close to the property and in the room as we saw guest using vapes and we were even greeted with one guest rolling up a joint in the side of the building the day we checked in. No ironing board or iron in the room so I had to go to the lobby to ask for it. The housekeeping staff would not replenish the two little toiletries the hotel gave and the little bar of soap barely survived my family of 3. There was also a large group of teens staying at the property. As a courtesy to other guest, the hotel should really condense these groups to one area of the facility to avoid noise complaints from other guest. Lastly, breakfast ends at 9:30 and I was still fixing a plate when the staff came in behind me and starting grabbing the food to take it away. It was incredibly rude. I had to ask the staff to stop so I could grab a few more items.

There was no ice, obvious plumbing problems, the lobby bathroom was closed. The elevator’s inspection was expired and the elevator was clunky.

It was so much bad smell inside the property and has the water drainage issue and issued cards were not working.

Pulled up and got out and the smell of weed was horrible, and when I walked in the hotel, that’s exactly where it was coming from. It was over powering in the halls and even in the rooms. The shower and sink both had hair in it. Also, The Pink Pony is right beside (take that as a good thing or a bad), just throwing that out there for people who were unaware they’re open until 2am.

It was a nice and clean property

I appreciated the friendly service of the staff. However, I had a very difficult time during my five-day stay because the room was filled with cigarette smoke, even though I understood that all rooms were supposed to be non-smoking. In addition, the bed mattress and covers were not very clean, with noticeable stains, including what seemed to be blood stains and other unclear marks. Still, I would say that overall it wasn’t too bad for the price.

Despite not keeping food in my room, I had to kill a roach after my first night. The key cards only worked the first day, then I had to have them recharged twice and replaced before I could get one of them to work. The room was humid and smelled musty no matter how long I ran the bathroom vent or kept the AC on. The halls were not humid or musty.

We stayed for one night and it was okay. Probably wouldn't pick if we were staying for longer. Property & rooms were clean. The front attendant who checked us in wasn’t very friendly (maybe he was having a rough day) but the morning attendant was. There isn't a coffee maker in the room. (not a huge inconvenience, just something I think people should know) The biggest inconvenience was the noise. You can hear EVERYTHING from the street, parking lot, neighboring rooms, people in the hallway, etc. The noise made it difficult to sleep.

For the area and ease to highways, I would recommend this property. The property itself is clean and safe. My room was smaller than expected but that is not an issue. But, for being such a small room and the 40° temps outside, I had to have the air conditioner on 64° all night. The fan in bath made a horrible noise and to beat it all, the smoke alarm started beeping ar 5am!!! I didn't sleep for the reat of the morning.

The room is small and very stuffy/humid but clean. I had to have the a/c on constantly because the room heated up quickly. Breakfast times were limited but regardless the food isn’t that great. My door key stopped working after one night so I had to replace it which was a quick fix. Considering the price, you get what you pay for honestly and we only were really there to sleep so it was functional enough.

Room was fine, no issues (TV is undersized though) The check-in staff were horrible, to both of us (we checked in separately). At 3 am, the two folks came out from the back and didn’t like how I explained that the previous person has checked in and I just needed a key. I had put my license down on the counter first thing, as I always do at check-in. But this time the female asks me for me name, then gets cranky when I point at my license. She gives corporate speak about “we just need to confirm your statement” or something like that. Huh? I say fine, it’s 3 am, just do whatever you need to do. The male repeats the corporate speak. He then puts my card key on the counter and walks away. No words, no smile, no eye contact. Just heads to the back like I’d interrupted his plans. This was so unexpected because I’d previously called the hotel to make sure I had a room with 2 beds, to give the name of my friend and to confirm she could arrive first. And THAT woman was the nicest, most helpful person ever. My friend similarly had issues when checking in 11 hours earlier, so different person, different shift, same attitude. On a side note, breakfast area could be upgraded—only hot option was pancakes, less than what I usually see with “breakfast included” places.

My stay was great. The only complaints I have is that there was no key card accessible reader outside of the hotel doors for a guess to gain access into the building after 10pm and there was no microwave inside the guest room.

Hotel was in a very good area, I felt safe, the staff was very polite. The room was ok, A/C was intermitently working, Internet WiFi not working in the rooms that were far the isle, I couldn’t get any signal in my room. Everything else was fine and clean

Room was very small. Very little bathroom storage space. Tiny closet, no microwave or coffee maker in room.

Hotel staff was very friendly but the area around the hotel is average at best. Like other comments about this hotel, the walls are thin so you will need to turn on the AC/Heater fan to block some of the noise from next door.

As soon as I walked in the door and said hello to the front desk worker , she immediately stopped me and told me that “ i’m sorry to tell you this, but there are any rooms ready yet. We are shortstaffed and our housekeepers work really hard.” She was dismissive and rude. It was almost 6:00 PM. I told her that is unacceptable and has nothing to do with me. I have been traveling all day and I am tired. She immediately started arguing with me. It was not a good experience at all. She was very unprofessional and ghetto! I don’t know who is hiring these people, but this hotel is a complete nightmare!

Great service an very friendly

I have cancer and have a certified Emotional Support Animal. My ESA was noted in the original reservations and discussed upon check-in. I was assigned a room which smelled horrible but I was exhausted and I got room spray the next day. I was in the room assigned me for three nights and walked my dog out the main entrance in front of the managers office and registration several times a day each day without incident. I extended my stay with a new reservation but they kept me in the same room. On my 4th day there, I was told that I had to move rooms because guests with ESAs had to be in rooms with hardwood and not carpet. When I pointed out i was assigned the room at check-in after she acknowledged the ESA cert info in original reservation, I was told the GM (who did not come out of her office to speak to me directly) said "He either moves or checks out." I wasn't offered help or a refund. I checked out early regardless and when I was leaving I talked with the "Guest Services Manager" about what happened and her response, "Have a nice day." Not only was it unacceptable, not only did they not take any responsibility for putting me in this situation but it was emotionally and physically very taxing. If you have something to say to someone -- especially if you are bullying a guest -- don't hide behind your office door. And come say it to my face.

I’m glad I went. I read the reviews and was a little iffy. My stay was great the price was good and my room was great. The service was good. Everyone was nice. I read that the front desk ladies were rude. Absolutely not true. I think you get what you give. They were very nice and overall I would give them a 9 out of 10. I will go back.

I came to Atlanta to Attend a conference at the State Farm Arena. The sales manager and front desk were so helpful when I asked about public transportation. I was able to save money by using the Marta bus and train. Yes, I would use them again, especially for the cost and location. The only downside was their coffee machine broke and as a coffee drinker, it came as a slight surprise. However, the sales manager went to purchase coffee for the hotel to provide a temporary solution. Thank you.

We were woken up at 8am because the maids were talking loud in the break room by our room. It sounded like they were screaming at each other. We were locked out our room at 740pm and waited for 15min for the man at the front desk to come back. We told him how long we had been waiting and he said I had to do something, and never apologized. He was in the meeting room, which was one of the doors I knocked on. When we left our room at 810pm. He was sitting down on his phone never acknowledging the person standing there.The breakfast was horrible, they only had 2 small carts which it was inconvenient because it poured down raining and it was a far walk from the curb. This was the worst stay ever. We will not be returning.

We had 4 people and got 6 towels total for 4 nights. It was a fight to even get those. Sketchy people, fighting loudly in rooms. It was awful. Had to get our own tv working the cable was unplugged. Front desk room staff were rude. Double charged my credit card. Save yourself the hassle

Staff was nice. Hotel is clean! This is my second time staying here. Don’t let the cheap price fool you! This place is great! They have popcorn and breakfast! Close to city center too! We requested pillows and towels and multiple staff answered the call quickly! Hotel is across the parking lot from a restaurant. Walking distance to Roc South soul food and a smoke shop! Close to Lenox! We will be back!

Great location

The property has 2 strip clubs next to it and shady characters hanging out in the parking lot. My wife and son felt unsafe. We ended up not staying as a result and staying somewhere else. Not a good experience.

We had to be near Emory University for several appointments over 2 days and this was in a decent distance from there. Plenty of grocery, gas, restaurants and shopping all around. Beds were very comfortable.

Absolutely fine, clean and comfy. As other reviews mentioned, there are nightclubs on both sides, but our room faced the Pink Pony and I couldn't hear anything. Bright lights in the parking lot made me worry less about leaving all our bags in the car. Thumbs up.

The hotel price, staff, and location were all good.

Close to Children’s Hospital, clean and safe

It did exactly what I need and was exactly what it advertised but the area is very tight, not a lot of parking, I caught a contact buzz walking through the parking to the front door. It wasn\'t unsafe, but it was a bit "shady" on the exterior.

Our stay was quite adequate for our needs. Room was clean, breakfast was a good start for the day. We liked the lemon water available all day. The parking lot was well lit all night long which was comforting. Hotel is located 10 mins from Buckhead and there are many businesses in the hotel area. Only unfavorable comment is if you use the iron in the room check it before using it. Ours had some blackish residue on it and even after testing it on the iron cover it still transferred to my husband's white shirt. I took it to the staff and they were going to clean it off, but didn't offer a new iron.

Very Nice and convenient off of I 85.

It was decent for the price. It was convenient to Emory Hospital and the Children’s Hospital. I requested daily service due to the length of time I would be there and it was provided almost daily. I did see two roaches on my second day. I did not see any others. The breakfast was only cereal, oatmeal, bagels or toast and it had a machine that made tiny pancakes. The parking is free but is limited. I can’t say much about the front desk personnel other than the one time I called. Unfortunately I needed to extend my stay. I tried calling to let them know and to check that the booking had been received the person was rude. When I didn’t check out, the same person called to ask if I had left and they would pack my belongs left in the room.

Nice breakfast

We absolutely adored our stay here for 2 main reasons. First, the actual room was SO clean and tidy and that brings me to my next reason THE STAFF! WOW, so helpful, informative, and it truly felt like you were taken care of. Our housekeeping person Blanca was so attentive and checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. The front desk staff went above and beyond on requests and ensured we had a delightful time. (Also the complimentary breakfast was great).

Hotel was not located near Night clubs. Was not notified in advance there would be an extra $75 hold on card encase of damages. Be fair warned they shutdown breakfast promptly at 930am starting with the drinks.

The service is good. Breakfast has all varieties of food. Coffee all day. Cookies in the afternoon. Front desk is very accommodating.

The internet was slow and spasmodic. The continental breakfast was a joke: no selection, bargain-basement cereals, the worst coffee ever and a machine that let folks "watch your pancakes as they cook" which were also terrible. Would not cost a lot more to make it a pleasant experience for guests.

Pros- Very affordable, nice staff, mostly clean, area appeared safe, there’s also a strip club across the street if you’re into that kind of thing. Breakfast bar was also great Cons- The tub was stained a slight tint of brown so it probably wasn’t AS clean as it could’ve been, and you can hear your neighbors doors close as if it were your own (it’s loud) Overall, 7/10, great, affordable place to stay in Atlanta.
