The hotel is almost in its own park with a small lake/very large pond. The staff are friendly and helpful (and not in a phony way either). I would stay here again.

Wonderful breakfast and gorgeous scenery

For the price this is top notch. Rooms were ample, clean and comfortable. The staff was so attentive and everyone was going above and beyond for the guests. ​Easily one of the best parts of the stay was the breakfast setup. It’s a total high-end spread with everything you could want, but the real stars are the fresh waffle makers (nothing beats that smell in the morning!) and a seriously impressive coffee bar. They have multiple syrup flavors on hand, so you can play barista and mix up the perfect latte to kickstart your day.

Arrived at property on Mother's Day, the desk clerk was very nice, sorry I didn't get her name. Checked in and went to the room, that's when the issues began- the room wasn't really cleaned, the trash can was full, a toothbrush on the floor. Back to desk and explained to the clerk, she changed my room- this room was clean. Other issues were the tub needs to be replaced- very dirty looking, room door handles were corroded and need replacing, possibly paint the rooms. The view of the lake was beautiful.

This hotel is slightly more expensive than most select-service hotels in the area - and it is worth it. We stopped overnight to break up a long road trip, deciding to spend a little more than normal, based on the great reviews and the mediocre-to-poor reviews for other hotels in the general area. We chose a room with two double beds, and ended up in a clean, comfortable and spacious suite with a full-sized refrigerator (helpful to have a real freezer for our cooler's ice packs). The room was nice and quiet. We didn't use it, but the pool area is pretty and well maintained. What really set this property apart, though, was the extreme friendliness of the staff. Everyone we encountered was smiling and went out of their way to say hello and ask how we were doing. Makeda at the front desk deserves a special shout out. It was late at night when we checked in and she was working a double. The next morning, early, she was just as pleasant and smiley as she had been the night before, sending us on our way with a "Have a blessed day!" Kindness seems to be in short supply these days - it was nice to be reminded how wonderful it can be. Highly recommend.
