The location of the hotel is perfect with private access to the Lagoon which was beautiful. There were some problems with the water drainage and lots of sounds of water in the pipes at all hours which was frustrating. The food that was included in the breakfast was mediocre. Overall great location and a very nice area, but facilities and food could be better.

Heeeerlijk! Prachtig hotel aan het meer, omringd door groen landschap. Pure rust. Super vriendelijk personeel en de kamers zijn super mooi. Gelegen net buiten het drukkere centrum wat ook perfect is. Slechts 5’ met auto. Gratis paddle boards ook ter beschikking.

What a dream stay. Everyone is SO nice. Our room, while rustic, was amazing. You can walk just a few feet away and overlook some of the most beautiful views in the word. Kayaks and paddle boarding are included. Breakfast was free every day and was delicious. The staff was so attentive. You cannot find service like this at the Four Seasons. The waiters and maintenance staff were so accommodating. One caveat and it has nothing to do with the hotel, we got bit by mosquitoes a lot in the room. I recommend you bring lots of bug spray and even a plug in to avoid it. The staff had a whole bottle of Off spray in their dining area which is a great idea. Can’t wait to go back!

La habitación aunque dice vista a la laguna, en realidad te tapa un árbol, y la escalera que da al muelle está muy resbalosa, recomiendo darle mantenimiento. En general la habitación limpia y cómoda, el servicio excelente!

Beautiful quiet spot on the banks of the lagoon. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food was great! Can’t wait for the bar to be up and running!

We had a wonderful time at Azulea Bacalar. We stayed in the best room they had but unfortunately a few things were not working well. Blackout drapes were not the right size so the windows were not all they way covered. Water pressure was not the best, the terrace was missing furniture with cushions. The hotel was overall clean, the staff was amazing, and the food was seriously sooo good. Quite the chef! Thank you to Miguel and everyone that took good care of us. They reimbursed us for one of the nights we didn't have water.Everyone was so attentive. Thank you for making our stay a wonderful one!!

We chose the Royal one. If that was the best / than its a real disappointment. Everything is old, the roof had holes, the smell in the bathroom was disgusting. The only good point- the restaurant- they have a real good chef.

El desayuno muy rico, tener agua a disposición, los espacios, diseño. Quizá falta limpieza en su lago estancado. Si tuve un tema de seguridad ya que entregaron mi habitación a otros huéspedes y estaba yo dentro de ella. Argumentaron que los huéspedes nuevos tomaron la llave máster (eso es aún más grave), pero aún así creo que debieron acompañarles y asignarles ellos la correcta. Falta marcar las llaves y una simple disculpa no arregla el mal momento, debieron hacerme sentir más cómoda o algo…

There were some problems with the water drainage and lots of sounds of water in the pipes at all hours which was frustrating. The food that was included in the breakfast was mediocre. What a dream stay. Everyone is SO nice. Our room, while rustic, was amazing. You can walk just a few feet away and overlook some of the most beautiful views in the word. Kayaks and paddle boarding are included. Breakfast was free every day and was delicious. The staff was so attentive. You cannot find service like this at the Four Seasons. The waiters and maintenance staff were so accommodating. One caveat and it has nothing to do with the hotel, we got bit by mosquitoes a lot in the room. I recommend you bring lots of bug spray and even a plug in to avoid it. The staff had a whole bottle of Off spray in their dining area which is a great idea. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time at Azulea Bacalar. We stayed in the best room they had but unfortunately a few things were not working well. Blackout drapes were not the right size so the windows were not all they way covered. Water pressure was not the best, the terrace was missing furniture with cushions. The hotel was overall clean, the staff was amazing, and the food was seriously sooo good. Quite the chef! Thank you to Miguel and everyone that took good care of us. They reimbursed us for one of the nights we didn't have water.Everyone was so attentive. Thank you for making our stay a wonderful one!!

We chose the Royal one. If that was the best / than its a real disappointment. Everything is old, the roof had holes, the smell in the bathroom was disgusting. The only good point- the restaurant- they have a real good chef.

El desayuno muy rico, tener agua a disposición, los espacios, diseño. Quizá falta limpieza en su lago estancado. Si tuve un tema de seguridad ya que entregaron mi habitación a otros huéspedes y estaba yo dentro de ella. Argumentaron que los huéspedes nuevos tomaron la llave máster (eso es aún más grave), pero aún así creo que debieron acompañarles y asignarles ellos la correcta. Falta marcar las llaves y una simple disculpa no arregla el mal momento, debieron hacerme sentir más cómoda o algo…

The staff are great here and make you feel like family. 5 stars. Food and drinks were great everything we ate was delicious.The bed was very comfortable. We had a great stay-no problems or complaints just some suggestions or wishes. As others have mentioned some lotions would be nice also robes. Tissues and washcloths too. Our rooms were very spacious (105&106) had beautiful views. They were so spacious we were tempted to bring the chairs in from the deck so we could sit up and read as it rained most of our stay.-there is room for 2nice chairs FYI
