Fifth and Ocean

I didn’t like there was no ice machine, and only one trash can that was very little for more than a 1 day stay. The great thing about the property was the rooms were clean staff did accommodate me with the bottom floor, and everything was so close, shopping, food, and gift shops.

Parking was a big issue there came back two days in a row to no where to park ..

Newly renovated older property so everything is still new. The shower was excellent. I would stay here again. It worked for me but also I was put on the fourth floor and there is no elevator so that could be a challenge for some. Staff was super friendly and helpful when needed. For the price I paid it was excellent. Very close to everything along the strip in Myrtle beach

Place is a dump. It’s surrounded by high end hotels in the beach but this is a 1 star motel. Dirty, tight parking, not enough parking for every room so if you got back to your room after 6pm you’re out of luck! Front staff not friendly at all. No elevator so if you’re traveling with babies or older parents- this is not the place. It is at the end of the boardwalk so not far from Beach. Area a bit sketchy after hours. I wouldn’t stay here again for the price that I paid. Cheaper to stay at the grand hotels instead. Pool was dirty. Dirty diaper floating when we visited- disgusting

Location was good, Rooms were ok. staff was nonexistent. Pool hours were stated but not followed, Pool was occupied late into the night, well into the next morning. My wife got up one morning to go enjoy the pool before getting our day started, only to find it being cleaned and chem shocked due to the remnants of the night before. was very unfortunate.

Nice for the price but not alot of parking.

4th floor no elevator

Pros: Room was as pictured. Parking. Close to the beach. Close to eating options. Starbucks across the street. Walking distance to beach. Con: Leaky ceiling. Our room was on the bottom and we had a leaky ceiling. My husband spoke with front desk and they moved us right away. However, the room was on the 3rd floor and the internet connection was bad so it was difficult to watch tv. Other than that, they stay was okay for our trip.

Nice place and walkable area with beaches, boardwalk and restaurants/shopping spots, Family amusement park in couple minutes walk. Newly renovated rooms, but it looks like motel and we had roaches near our doors- but seems like there is a lot of them in that area overall, so looks like it’s normal. Kind of smells damp, but I think it's a great hotel for this money)

The woman that checked us in was very kind and personable! She answered all of our questions and quickly checked us in. The rooms could have been cleaner, specifically the bedding. The stairs to the upper floors were quite chipped. We didn’t use the pool because you're one block from the ocean! It was easily walkable to restaurants and bars nearby, along with the boardwalk. Ac worked great. For a motel it wasn’t bad. Parking was close to our room which was convenient. We enjoyed our stay.

We had an amazing experience, the lady up front and the cleaning staff were all super nice, room smelled so good when we walked in and was immaculate as far as cleanliness. One of my favorite rooms we've had when on vacations. they did a stellar job when renovated. I don't know what name it was before but it makes me happy to see that folks are buying, renovating, keeping the smaller mom and pop owned motels. I prefer this type over the high rise parking two blocks away and all that. Highly recommend this place.

Dirty, bugs, and power went out in the room for HOURS

My fiancé & I planned a last minute trip for my birthday and the 4th. Everything else was outrageous for 2 nights , so i chose this place and booked it. I started reading through reviews and to be completely honest I was scared afterwards and worried about the conditions would be. Upon arrival, I was extremely relieved. We arrived at 11:50 pm, and front desk was still available and they were extremely pleasant. We asked for a first or second floor room due to arriving so late, and they accommodated that. Our room was EXTREMELY clean from the floors to the bathroom and beds. Checked both queen beds, all the way down to the mattress and everything was clean. The floors were not dirty nor were the beds like others had said in their reviews. The beds are kind of low to the ground but they are SUPER comfortable. The bathroom is extremely nice and the tv worked good as well. Has a decent size mini fridge and microwave. Would definitely stay here again.

Room could have been cleaned more. Mattress did not have mattress pad. Towels needs to be throwed away.

I had a hole in my wall, bugs and blood stains in the bed as well as mold on the walls

Still waiting for my refund, there was a bullet hole in the wall looking in the room. Bed bugs and a disgusting smoke scent and mold all on the wall and floor. Never go here, worst hotel you can find in North America !

The property is in a perfect location. The oustide of the building is a little deceptive. The rooms are actually clean. However, the walls are super thin and you can hear everything. There is no house keeping. You have to walk to the office for new towels everyday.

No room service unless requested. Dirty floors, dirty towels. AC barely worked

The staff was helpful they allowed us to check in 3 hours early and opting for late check out was easy enough. The room itself was ok. The bed was soft the bathroom wasn’t too bad, there was no amenities like an iron or blow dryer. The WiFi sucked we ended having to use our hotspot the whole time. The doors to the rooms are paper thin we heard everything going on outside and the doors had lots of gapping in the frame. If you like to sleep in darkness I don’t recommend here, the don’t have any black out curtains so as soon as the sun came up the room was BRIGHT. For the price and location it wasn’t horrible just be aware you do not have any “views” of the beach.

The location of this property is fantastic, only one block off the beach and so many fun touristy places within walking distance. We chose not to rent a car and still had a wonderful trip. The rooms are recently remodeled and were very nice, the bathroom was amazing. The location is a bit loud, but given the proximity to the beach and being in the heart of the tourist area, we expected it. The worst noise issue is the people driving extremely loud cars, which is unavoidable and would be heard no matter where you stay. One note, the wifi password listed in the check in app is incorrect, we had to go to the front desk to ask and the employee was slightly annoyed, but their system is not updated so that's on them. My other concern was that this was a motel style location and they left all of the blinds open. Our room was on the ground floor and we closed the blinds for privacy, but that was a very clear indicator that people were staying in that room, which felt like a safety concern given that it was a very quiet time of year (labor day weekend). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but in the future would stay at a different hotel as we found many other options would have been in our price range had we done more research.

Hardwood floors, black and white themed furniture and deco, wide screen TV, comfortable beds, spacious room, large waterfall shower and located directly on Ocean Blvd. My new go-to place in Myrtle Beach.

Great spot near the boardwalk, staff was very nice. Only complaint is the room was bright in the morning for my liking. Overall great stay, would stay again.

While the location is great (1 block across the street from the beach afyer you walk around the larger resort), the room wuality and comfort level is poor. The bed sits very low to the ground with no box spring, making it very uncomfortably. The sheets did not feel clean or soft. The door has a 1 inch gap all aroujd, leaving it vulnerable to hear wvery single sound and see the bright light shine in at all times. You can hear the trash trucks and street cleaner trucks roll through in between 2 and 3 AM. Sounds like an airplane is landing outside the room. The bathroom is large and looks modern, but the shower has nowhere to place your toiletries or wash cloth. It also doesnt drain well, and leaves a back up of the water.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Fifth and Ocean Hotel in Myrtle Beach. Overall, it was a decent stay, but there are a few things worth noting for future guests. Location: The location is definitely a highlight. It’s conveniently situated just a short walk from the beach, which made getting to the water quick and easy. There are also shops and restaurants nearby, which was a plus. Room: The room itself was nicely decorated, clean, and stocked with plenty of towels, washcloths, and a blow dryer. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, and the space felt welcoming. However, noise was a significant downside. The walls are quite thin — we could hear loud bass from cars on the street and even people walking past our door. If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. Bathroom: The shower had great water pressure and got hot quickly, which we loved. That said, the drain isn’t centered in the middle of the shower floor, so water pooled and didn’t drain efficiently. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s something management might want to address. Parking: Parking is available but a bit tight, especially if you’re driving a larger vehicle. We managed just fine, but it did require some caution when pulling in and out of the lot. Amenities: The room only had one small trash can, which wasn’t quite enough for the duration of our stay. Luckily, we brought our own trash bag, which came in handy. For larger disposals, there are bigger trash bins located outside.

The tv in the room would not connect to the hotels wifi because of poor signal..could never get it connected the whole weekend, burned up all my hotspot data

New paint and updates doesn't cover up the fact that it's a very old hotel/motel. You have absolutely no privacy unless you close the blinds all day. The lights in the room worked half the time, due to faulty outlets. Wifi connection was weak to non-existent. Don't expect many amenities.

Wi-Fi wouldn’t work and neighbors were extremely loud

Although the rooms were renovated, you can clearly tell that the renovations were cheap and quickly done. The floors have noticeable waves, the drywall isn’t finished in some areas, the shower and door handles are cheap, you can literally hear everything from the room next to you, the rooms could be a little cleaner, but the location is great and the staff is as well. You literally get what you pay for!

The property was good base on the rate that i paid except that as soon as I got comfortable the electricity went out at 11:19pm and I had to do without electricity for the rest of my stay because they didn't have 24 hour service. I got up 5am to grab something from my car and the door lock and i had to stay outside until 9:03am when someone came

If rooms are ready early and the guest have arrived early for confirmation of arrival. They shouldn't have to wait until 4pm to check in. No one in off ice on check out waited for 25 minutes sign said be back in 5. Left key cards in room hoping I get my $100 back bc the room was left better than most im sure

The staff was beyond rude. I was locked out of my room and had to stay at the sister hotel, Grande beach resort and was told by the clerk I was a liar and that the clerk was there in fact she wasn’t. When asked about an accommodation she informed me to write an email. Afterwards clerk began to argue with me and called the cops. Would not recommend anyone to stay.

needed a 100$ deposit only on card, i was not given any warning about this ahead of time. took us 1hr to check in because of this

Expedia gave this hotel good reviews. But when we got there we found out the wifi didn't work. Thus the tv didnt work since it only worked with wifi. There was a lot of hair on the floor, wall damage etc. Lots of noise. And when we tried to resolve the wifi issue with the front desk they couldnt do anything since the manager never showed up. They had this i dont care attitude. We tried to get an early check out but nope they took all the money the 1st night and we just had to live with the issues for 3 days. We spent as much time outside since we didnt want to spend time in the hotel. Part of the experience is the hotel but this experience was not idea. Not even any housekeeping till we left. I Contacted Expedia since we chose this hotel because of their recommendation. 6 people from Expedia contacted the hotel all to no avail. I dont recommend this hotel. Expedia was also useless since they didnt abide by their policies. In the end they said there was nothing they could do and told us to take this up with our back. I wont be booking with them again. Book at ure own risk!!!

We liked that it was close to the ocean and boardwalk. .we didn’t like that It was noisy especially at night and had insufficient parking. The room was clean but didn’t have a small table or chairs and no lighting beside the bed. Bathroom was very nice.

Room was clean, check-in was easy to handle. Location is a good and bad -good because is close to the beach and within walking distance of a lot of attractions -bad because is close to everything so you can hear all the noise around you. Window shade still let a lot of light into the room -but overall good place for the price.

This hotel has excellent location, it's literally a walk across the street to the myrtle Beach and boardwalk. My husband(who was on way to get hip surgery) and i were able to walk to a nice bbq restaurant (swig and swine), but there are several food options within walking distance. The receptionist was very kind and considerate as well as informative to places to go and how to get there. Being at this hotel you don't have to worry about paying for parking to go to beach or boardwalk. the bed was only issue for us if was a bit low and harder than our comfort level but those are personal preferences and as i said needing hip surgery we tend to prefer a bit softer mattress. The price was very affordable with location or was actually on the cheap end.

This property is conveniently located to the beach, and the rate was reasonable considering it is June in Myrtle Beach. If you're staying on the third and fourth floors, there is a view of the ocean on the south side of the property. There is no view of the pool from that side of the hotel. There are restaurants within walking distance and a Starbuck's across the street. The property has been recently renovated and offers basic amenities (microwave, refrigerator and small coffee maker). In the bathroom, there are travel sized shampoo/conditioner and soap, which is a nice feature. Housekeeping missed a couple of things, such as trash under the bed and a covered up smoke detector. We alerted the staff to this and they were apologetic. The ice machine was not working, so we had to get ice from a nearby restaurant when we went to dinner. We inquired about early check in/late check out and were told there was an extra fee. I do think some additional TLC is in order, but overall it's an ok option for a short say.

On ocean blvd, literally in between everything. Loved the location. Nice hotel, good pricing. Will be back!

It is walking distance to almost everything including the beach!

Clean rooms, no bufgs of any kind. Staff is friendly and helpful. The internet is not the greatest, and there is NO elevator and no laundry facilities. It is a 5min walk to the laundromat and it is a very clean laundromat. Starbucks is right across the street and the beach is right across the street also. Walking distance to food, fun and shopping.

The location of the stay was super convenient, there was a Starbucks and lots of restaurants and stores all within easy reach. The beach was less than a two-minute walk away and right by the boardwalk, which made it really easy to enjoy. For a solo trip, this was affordable, simple, and exactly what I needed.

Picture was confusing and I thought this was the hotel on the beach but it’s across the street. Very friendly people, rooms were clean and it was easy to walk where we wanted. 4/5 I’d stay again.

Very nice property and very convenient to shopping and restaurants& attractions. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room is updated and very cozy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is great. It takes a minute or two to walk to the beach. Parking is free and they always had enough spots. They also had a nice little pool. The rooms were modern and nice, but a few fixtures were loose or didn’t slide properly even though everything looked updated. The first check in lady wasn’t the most welcoming, but the check out ladies were nice. There are restaurants and stores at a walking distance; Starbucks is right in front.

The dining options and it was walkable also the beach was right beside us. Something I didn’t like was the WiFi it was no internet.
