The Lodge at Flat Rock

The main reason for booking this property was for my grandson to have a pool to play in while on vacation. The pool was not usable as it was not clean. The staff at the hotel was very friendly, but the condition of the property was quite below my expectations.

This property has been very well kept. Super clean, zero issues, nice pool, and an amazing backyard/waterfall/firepit area. I’ll be back for sure.

I highly recommend! The pools and outside seating areas are absolutely wonderful! The staff is friendly, all areas were very clean and it was a better breakfast than at other hotels we've stayed at in a while. Be aware: the double beds are NOT queen size!! They are a small full size. It did not stop us from enjoying our stay, it was great!

The room had a small kitchenette with a good sized refrigerator. The room was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. We also loved the amenities with multiple fire pits/conversation areas and an outdoor fireplace. There was also an indoor heated pool. The property was cozy and well maintained. We will definitely be back!

First thing, just like all of the other reviews state, the employees are top notch and treat you like no other hotel I have stayed at does. All smiles and politeness. The breakfast was good enough for being free, no complaints but don’t expect the best breakfast you’ve ever had. The room was clean and well stocked with complimentary goodies that get restocked daily if you choose to have your room cleaned. The indoor pool was fun for my daughter and is constantly being restocked with fresh towels, a few drawbacks are that it was extremely loud and hot. They keep it warm to accommodate guests getting out of the pool so the a/c doesn’t freeze them as they get out of the pool. So if you’re planning on just sitting poolside and not getting in be prepared to get hot. The property is beautiful and has plenty of seating and they have grills available for use. Overall 5/5 stars, you will not be disappointed in booking your stay here. This is my 3rd trip to the area, I have stayed in an Airbnb mountain house in Fletcher with great views, and downtown Asheville at the IGH hotel in the penthouse and both of those didn’t come close to this establishment.

I love staying at the Lodge. I come out here frequently for MrMaple open houses and the staff is always friendly. The rooms are nice, pool is nice and warm, and the courtyard is a wonderful touch.

The property was absolutely wonderful! The staff was also very wonderful and very friendly and courteous! The only problem I have is that I am 62 years old and have never smoked. When my wife and I went out the front door to go eat, we encountered two people smoking in front of the door. Also when we tried to go out back around the waterfall we couldn’t enjoy that either because of smoking. We want to come back and stay again if you can correct the smoking problem. If you can make a designated smoking area and not all of the outside area. Thanks

Nice hotel, well kept. Workout room is too small but the indoor pool is very nice.

My wife and I only stayed one night but the staff was really friendly and the property amenities were great. We used the small indoor pool and the surrounding property was neatly kept. We just regret the walking trail being closed at the time.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean and excellent staff and service.

There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling. Water poured down on our heads while we were in the shower. It was not safe to walk around that area. I informed the front desk and the young man was willing to change our room. However it was very late and my wife was in bed and she was too tired to want to move. So we just slept in the bed and were very careful not to slip and fall in the bathroom. My wife has videos of the bathroom ceiling if you are interested. John Domino delivers

Indifferent desk clerk, dirty carpet

We stayed one night in the room #222 (King suite) in this beautiful Lodge and we liked a lot spacious and nice lobby area, beautiful backyard with a small waterfall hidden among trees, surrounding territory, and our spacious King suite with comfortable furniture. We noticed small problem in the bathroom: in one place on the ceiling above the tub paint was peeling away revealing black spot (I'm afraid it was black mold). We told about this problem to the hotel worker and stressed that it must be repaired.

Stayed at this facility on 2 different occasions. Both have been excellent experiences. Staff is friendly and make sure stay is pleasant. place is super clean, and feel safe

The words can not express the atmosphere of this cozy hotel. 5 star cleanliness.

We were upgraded to king suite at no charge which gave us lots of room to relax. Very nice touches in the room like snacks, chocolate and a personalized welcome letter. Very pretty outside area but unfortunately we couldn’t explore the nature trail because a bear cub was recently spotted.

Lodge is nicely furnished but dark and dated. My room smelled of cigars and woodsmoke (?)which means someone broke the rules but housekeeping should have communicated this to the front desk and they could have kept the room out of the rental cycle and treated the smell. Some rolled towels were obviously left in the room from previous guests but someone had wiped dirty hands on them. Ugh.

The staff was great, the place was comfortable but pretty outdated. The breakfast was ok.

Hotel gives a home vibe , clean but is very dated. Staff is excellent and friendly! Bed was too hard for me and pillows need to be replaced Small flat and hard, could not sleep because of the pillows. The breakfast was like old people food. I couldn’t eat anything, it turned me off. Some health concerns were hard boiled eggs not covered. Coffee Luke warm / it was nice but unfortunately, I wouldn’t return. Would prefer something newer.

The lodge is lovely with a beautiful lobby including a large stone fireplace. There are several outdoor seating areas including one with a fireplace and fire pit. The room was spotless, bed and pillows comfortable, complimentary snacks including chocolates on the pillows waiting for us. Staff is pleasant and attentive. Would definitely stay there again.

Fairly nice 2 room suite. Lacking in some maintenance, the front door would not close and latch we had to do it manually and hard. The bathroom door did not latch. Kitchen was ok but only one fork two spoons and one knife. Internet connection was horrible. Could connect for a few minutes only and then would get kicked out. Couldn't get any work done and was basically worthless. Pool was nice, patios were nice, good breakfast. Sadly the TV in the dining room was not on anything nuetral but on Fox news. Sad - so I ate outside once that started. South or not - still not smart.

The room was spacious and nice

Bed was comfortable and room was nice and clean. We booked this room because it had a kitchen we could make breakfast. Kitchen was very poorly stocked. Dishes were a mismatched and didn't make any sense. 2 plates some mismatched silverware, cups and glasses. 2 pans but no skillet, knive, cutting board, dish towel, dishrag, dish soap, paper towels. Small electric countertop stove was alright expect one burner would not stay hot and the other was very hard to turn on. My husband was finally strong enough to turn on the one burner that would stay on. If you are just looking for a clean comfortable room it is good... definitely not good if you want a kitchen.

This place was absolutely fabulous, we loved the atmosphere and the staff and owner Scott was super attentive to all our needs. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone and will make definitely be back.

I was greeted by Taylor and she was probably the nicest front desk person I have ever had help me, she greeted me warmly and answered all my questions about the local food and just took her time to assist me and make me feel like a person and not just a room number

The staff was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and we felt very welcomed. We definitely will be staying there again when in town.

The service and small luxuries are always top notch at the Lodge. The people are always incredible.

The Lodge at Flat Rock was truly amazing. The staff gets a five star rating from us. We are from Texas where customer service is starting to decline, so it was truly a delight to be well taken care of at The Lodge. The day we were to check out I called the front desk and spoke to Scott about a later check out and he was so accommodating and knew my name! Very impressed with everything The Lodge at Flat Rock had to offer. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here!

Staff was VERY friendly and helpful! Loved the chocolates on our bed at check-in; was given an upgrade to a suite which we loved. Our whole experience at The Lodge was completely enjoyable. THANK YOU!

It's not often you stay at a hotel where the staff makes you feel so welcome and so appreciated. The Lodge at Flat Rock does that like no other place I've stayed before. You feel like you're visiting family, not a hotel. Personable staff that care, on top of a beautifully appointed and maintained establishment make The Lodge the place to stay when you're in Western North Carolina.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas were warm and inviting. The room was clean and well organized. I enjoyed my time at The Lodge at Flat Rock and am looking forward to another stay with them in the future.

Excellent accommodations and proximity to downtown Hendersonville. The grounds are immaculate and the staff is wonderful. Already planning to return next year.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Hope we get back to the area and this will definitely be the place we stay. Easy access to the interstate. Close to Hendersonville, not far from Asheville.

I've stayed here 3 times in the last year and haven't had a bad experience yet. It's conveniently next to a few restaurants and downtown Hendersonville. It's also really close to mrmaple.com open houses.

Very courteous staff upon check in. Clean room and promised amenities. However, facility not remote and instead next to a highway interchange.

Immediately upon check in we were advised that my service dog was not allowed in the outdoor area for relaxation basically because you couldn't get to it without going through the grassy courtyard that we were not able to access. I was told to try going through the pool area but every time I try that the doors were locked. We really chose the hotel and had our plans around the fact that we could just sit out in the evenings in front of the fireplace or at a fire pit Just relax and the cooler weather have wine and have our dog relax with us but we were not able to do so. I also mention it to the lady at check in and I got the feeling that she was possibly an owner or co-owner for some reason and suggested that that would probably be something that they would want to put on their website and make sure people were aware of that. That was our whole reason for booking air and we were very disappointed about that to say the least. Rooms were clean beds were comfortable staff was professional. Breakfast and the coffee both were absolutely nothing to write home about. I've had better at a comfort inn suites. Also something else we thought about while we were there with all these things that we're not as we expected the thiefer night was well above what would be expected for what we received. We really thought we were going to a top notch hotel.

From the moment we walked it, Scott, made it so much fun. Never had such a welcoming that made us laugh, what a great way to start our stay. Room was wonderful, clean and comfortable. Location was great, close to the orchards, which the reason for our visit. Breakfast was ok, could have been hotter. The pool was absolutely wonderful; the temperature was perfect. The waterfall in the back brings it all together, just beautiful. Hope everyone enjoyed the Asian pears....

Great place! Very friendly staff! In the area for work and will continue to stay there! Love how they have full kitchens so I don’t have to eat out all the time, comfy beds, free WiFi, large breakfast selections… list just goes on. Highly recommend!

Breakfast better than most hotels.

The Lodge is a good place to stay. It is a bit outdated but staff are great and accommodations are good for the price. Breakfast is better than some other hotels in the same level. I'd recommend it to others.
