The location was great - we loved the view and the yard had a great fire pit with plenty of chairs and lots of firewood. The dock was in good condition and pleasant to fish off of. If we forgot anything the town of Pine City was less than a 10 min. drive. The cabin was spacious on the main level. A great room with a big tv and fireplace was comforting on a cold rainy day. Two bedrooms are on the main level, each with their own full bathroom. One has a King size bed, the other has 2 Queen size beds. This level also has a 3rd full bathroom. The upstairs has 2 smaller bedrooms that are kind of cramped with bunk beds. There is no bathroom on this level. There were lots of board games and puzzles and even darts to play inside. Outside there were 2 kayaks, a volleyball net, corn hole, horseshoe pits, badminton racquets and birdies, a volleyball and a variety of life jackets. The beds and bedding were very comfortable! And the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and dishes - we only missed having a coffee grinder so into town we went to get ground coffee. The place is appropriately named as there was a Blue Heron sitting on the dock the morning of our departure.

Great place for our group to stay. Loved the beautiful setting, views, and the nature. Nice outdoor spots. The living room and adjacent dining table were perfect for our gathering. We had a utility issue that was not the fault of the owner, and he handled it quickly and professionally. We were pleased all around.

There were 3 major issues with our stay.1.) Safety of walking up the steps to the house, they were solid ice. I did notify property owner and he had someone come out in the morning to put down salt, but they did not take care of clearing the ice. That evening there was snow that covered the icy steps and we walked in the snow instead of using steps for our own safety. This should have all been taken care of BEFORE we arrived on Friday night.2. Mice Infestation - we saw several tracing of mice and one dead in the washer. There were mouse dropping in all of the sink cupboards and on the dish rack.3. Overall cleanliness of the place. There facial wipes on the floor of a bedroom when we arrived, the drawers/cabinets are cluttered and we washed all utensils before we used them. The place has potential, just needs some detailed cleaning and organization of closets, cabinets, drawers etc.
