Great location. However the hotel does not live up to a 5 star hotel. The beds are super hard and squiky. Bed linnens and pillows not great quality. Very strange that the hotel have applied for a special license to permit smoking in their bar area. Breakfast was good, but not amazing.

Excelent hotel to use for a Riga visit - tight in the old town, so easy to get anywhere. Excellent breakfast. Nice room, very clean. All the staff were great, very friendly. Hotel has a very nice cocktail bar - although sitting inside with smokers takes some getting used to! Good extractor fans though.,

It’s a lovely property, and my room was the most spacious I’ve had on this two month trip. Breakfast is excellent, including various dishes, made to order by a chef. My only quibbles would be that it’s slightly cumbersome to get to rooms on the far side of the hotel, and the spa is pretty lame—just a sauna.

AC did not work in room. Parking is a 6 minute walk away in an unsecured lot. It was dumping rain when we arrived late at night with our bags so having to run through the streets was a less than ideal.

Her er tale om et rigtigt lækkert og centralt beliggende hotel. Meget imødekommende og servicemindet personlige. Behagelige værelser med bl.a. flere hovedpuder. Morgenmaden var rigtigt lækkert lige som rammerne for at spise den i. Enkelte kritik punkter er at deres Gym er lidt outdated og dampbad er lukket ned.

Great location in the old town just steps away from bars and restaurants but without any noise. Excellent breakfast with plenty of good quality food and wide selection. Best thing about the hotel was the cleanliness. Room was absolutely spotless

Outdated room and interior and not the vintage outdated type. The dirty carpet and bad shower type. The type that your clothes start stinking of fried food while you have breakfast. Definitely not a five star hotel. Even worse the service was terrible. We were placed in a room and next morning we were told we need to move to another room. We refused to move and the manager said he would call the police. We told him we would be happy to talk to the police. At that point he called someone and the problem was resolved.

Nice hotel, good design, toilet was bit smelly and needed some renovation( not a big deal though, I guess it was due to the age of the house itself). Service was really good, and so was breakfast. Bed was comfortable. And location was perfect in a cosy street. I recommend this hotel, however you get what you pay for. It was not a cheap option when we booked!

Wonderful in every way! (My partner would have wished for a bit larger gym, but) we are extremely pleased with the service, the excellent house keeping (twice a day!) and the location. We would love to revisit both marvellous Riga and this very priceworthy hotel.

Lovely hotel. Spacious & comfortable room. Great breakfast. Would have preferred a separate shower cubicle in place of a shower over the bath. Would also have been nice to have a separate sitting area in the hotel lobby, for relaxing and reading, etc. But these are minor quibbles in what was, overall, an excellent stay.

Blev uppgraderad till sviten, stort plus. Proffesionell personal, bra mottagande, fantastiskt fint hotell. Utmärkt frukost. Enda saken var sängen, som var hård. Kändes som de saknades en bäddmadrass. Men i övrigt exemplariskt, kommer gärna tillbaka!

We had a room on the 5th floor which was quite dark and we were constantly having issues with the TV that was either not working or switching off Other than that, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is very well located and the staff nice and friendly. Seasons, the gourmet restaurant is fabulous along with the bar next to it

My only complaint is that they put us in a second floor room that faced ongoing construction which started at 7 am. When I asked for another room, the hotel said it was fully booked.

A nice hotel that had really large rooms and great bed. Our room backed onto a road that had construction work happening, which started at 7.20am. The room was exceptionally hot as the AC is seasonal. A brilliant breakfast and fantastic staff who did everything to make the stay amazing.n

Vi have et superior værelse 3 nætter. Desværre på 5 sal, oppe under taget, med et lille vindue, og lille værelse. Slet ikke som på deres billede af værelset jeg bookede. Håndværkerne på huset overfor arbejdede og larmede også lørdag. Der var god service med frisk vand hver dag.

Excellent hotel. We booked an airport pick up which we had to change last minute due to missed connection flight. Contacted the hotel and this was sorted with no issues and driver was waiting for us. The hotel was lovely and all staff very polite, the lady the checked us in and out was very nice and informative about the local area. Our room was the cheapest option and suited us fine. Plenty of room and had coffee/tea making facilities. It had everything we needed for our stay. The location was very central and a 10 min walk to the House of the Blackheads. Everything was within walking distance. We booked a Segway tour with the company next door to the hotel to get a better idea of our bearings and to get an insight into the history of Riga which helped us aswell. Would definately highly recommend the Grand Palace Hotel to anyone wanting to visit Riga.

Excellent! We staying at this hotel every year and we couldn’t ask for anything more. Staff is most pleasing and professional. All services are excellent. Rules are very comfortable .Our favorite front desk, girl Jondzha is very knowledgeable with all activities and information about hotel services and town. Our favorite town, Riga and our favorite hotel to stay. We always feel very special there and it’s not only our opinion we bring our friends and everyone always stays very pleased. Thank you.!

What makes this hotel stand out is its very well trained, ultra friendly, helpful, and sharp staff. Adding to enjoyment to be greeted by your name upon arrival and during your interactions with the front desk attendants, is the comfort of its premises. I so very much recommend.

I have mixed reviews about the hotel. The pros are that it is a nice boutique hotel, breakfast is good nothing out if the ordinary but good. Centrally located with nice rooms (had the standard king room). However as part of the leading hotels of the world and a 5 star hotel I find it weird not to have a kettle or/and a coffee machine in the room. Even if it is a standard king room. 5 star hotels should at least have these amenities in all room categories. Staff lack of professionalism especially Roland whom does not even know breakfast times! Concierge not available and the ladies at reception do not go out if their way to book restaurants for you. On the other hand Mr Elvis and the lady at reception in the morning with black hair(forgot her name sorry-she is employee of the month) compensate for the lack of professionalism of the others. For a hotel like this service must be impeccable and staff who cannot provide this kind of service should be in the back office or should not work in the hospitality industry

Excellent hotel- they just get everything right, even dealing with problems. At one point we were miscommunicated breakfast time but the staff were so fantastic at dealing with the problem by ensuring that we were looked after that it not only wasn’t a problem - it was turned into a big positive. They take customer service very seriously. Excellent experience all round - other hotels could learn a lot. Great food. Lovely location. And very quiet l. All round well done !

The property was lovely and the staff really helpful. The breakfast is fabulous there. Within a block there is a fabulous pizza shop (as good as pizza in Naples) and a Michelin star restaurant Le Dome if you want. Walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. I highly recommend it.
