We had a one night stay at the Savoy which was perfectly adequate for this short stay. We were able to get a parking spot on site ( the amount of parking available is fairly limited), and the room we were allocated was of a good size and appeared to have been redecorated fairly recently. It was clean and had a good mix of furniture. The bed could have been better as the mattress sagged towards the sides and the pillows were rather hard and uncomfortable. Despite this, the cost of the stay was very reasonable , so we would be prepared to stay there again for a similar short stay.

My stay at the Savoy Hotel in Blackpool was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived, my room had clearly not been cleaned. The bed was unmade, there were empty beer cans left behind, and wet bath towels were still in the bathtub. I immediately went to reception to report the issue and was told that there were only two staff members working for the entire weekend. While I understand that staffing shortages can happen, guests should not be given rooms that have not been prepared. The problems didn’t end there. The bed sheets were stained, and I had to request that they be replaced. The lift and the hotel corridors were also dirty, giving the impression that cleanliness was not a priority throughout the property. Breakfast was equally disappointing. The sausages were so overcooked they were as hard as a rock, and the eggs were almost completely tasteless. It was one of the poorest hotel breakfasts I have experienced. I asked for a refund because I had been given an unprepared room, but I was simply told that I would have to contact the website through which I made the booking. I found this response unhelpful and lacking in customer service. Overall, this was the worst hotel experience I have had in all my years of travelling. I cannot recommend the Savoy Hotel based on my experience, and I hope management takes immediate action to improve cleanliness, housekeeping standards, food quality, and customer service.
