Holiday Inn Essen - City Centre

Facility does not have AC in all rooms and no restaurant although it advertises it does. Carpets are dirty and stained, curtains ripped. Towels extremely small and thin. They kept on lying saying restaurant will open the following day but never did and also lied about central AC which they don’t have. Bathroom and room smelled bad and floor in bathroom still showed iron stained from prior guest. Simply disgusting.

Prenotato per 2 notti. L’hotel è in centro, a lato della zona pedonale. Arrivo alle ore 19, parcheggio sotto l’hotel e scarico i bagagli. È una strada dove nei giorni feriali vi è la zona disco dalle 10 alle 19 per 2 ore, quindi vuol dire che fino alle ore 12 sono ok. Anche il giorno seguente troverò parcheggio di fronte all’hotel, in caso contrario andate dietro l’hotel, sono gratuiti. Volendo, si può mettere l’auto nel parcheggio loro per 14 Euro al giorno. Alla reception un’albanese di origine, Marsida Agushi, molto gentile, che dimostra di essere un’ottima dipendente risolvendomi un paio di problemi (capisce perfettamente l’italiano, risponde in inglese, meritava una citazione). La posizione dell’hotel è ottima, numerosi i locali dove si può mangiare, basta attraversare la strada: un grande centro commerciale e i numerosi ristoranti nella zona pedonale. La camera e il bagno sono puliti, ampi, manca l’aria condizionata ma c’è un ventilatore. Ottimo il Wi-fi. Materassi comodi, attacchi elettrici numerosi. Colazione ottima e variegata, sia nel salato che nel dolce. In sala, un giovane attento e bravissimo, H. Tagvoryan: cito un esempio tra tanti… a una bambina era caduta la pinza per lo speck, si è avvicinato e le ha detto che non doveva rimetterla al suo posto come stava facendo, ma che doveva essere cambiata con una pulita (la madre non si è accorta di nulla, Tagvoryan sì). Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo, un hotel che funziona bene, lo consiglio, non indugiate nella scelta

Hotel très agréables, personnel accueillant, chambre confortable et propre, petit dejeuner copieux et varié avec même la possibilité de faire des gaufres et des pancakes frais. Seul petit bémol : le parking comporte peu de places donc vius ne pourrez pas vous y garer si vous arriver tard. Le stationnement dans la rue est limité à deux heures (avec disque bleu) mais uniquement entre 10h et 18h, donc c'est une option qui reste facile si il y a de la place.

Arrived by car to find parking area was closed due to building work, no mention of this on website during booking, parking was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel ,very difficult to find a park, receptionist Eda was rude and patronising, our room was fine but had a loose toilet seat and bed was only prepared for one person not 2, Roberto in the lounge bar was very nice and the bruschetta was very tasty, breakfast was excellent but hotel was overpriced at almost 150 euro per night.

Tiefgarage viel zu klein, jeden Tag überfüllt. In der Nachbarschaft fast keine Parkplätze vorhanden. Die Strasse vorm Zimmer war eine Rennstrecke, keine Klimaanlage, am Abend immer noch zu warm und in der Nacht war das Öffnen des Fensters wegen des Lärms keine Option. Frühstück: unverschämte 22,-, als Gegenwert ein Frühstück wie in jedem anderen beliebigen 2-Sterne-Hotel

Clean room, matching the pictures and description. However in need of renovation - broken drawer, some cracks on the bathroom tiles etc. Nothing big enough to be upset about, but somewhat sub-par for a Holiday Inn. On the upside - amazing breakfast!

Die Bilder passen nicht zur Unterkunft! Hatten ein Raucherzimmer gebucht aber kein balkon, boden dreckig, auf den bett waren haare und Flecke!

Our recent stay at the Holiday Inn in Essen was very disappointing. The hotel desperately needs an upgrade. We booked a room for two but were given one set of amenities. When we asked about the second set, we were told it was in the closet. All we found was an extra blanket, which was useless in the 34-degree heat with no air conditioning. We needed another set of towels! Moreover, the bathroom trash can hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests and was filled with bloody tissues. This level of cleanliness is unacceptable. The staff noted our complaints at check-out, but that doesn't excuse the poor experience. We won't be staying here again. Next time, we'll find somewhere else.

We stayed here for the second time and everything is going worse this year : water temperature in the shower is unstable, towels are so worn so they have holes, walls are dirty, desinfection odor everywhere is terrible. Breakfast is good. So we won't come back.

The staff was quite average, below expectations and what it should be for a Marriott affiliate. Rooms were so disgusting, stinky and dirty.

Ich bekam ein RaucherZimmer obwohl ich extra NichtRaucher gebucht hatte. Aussage der Mitarbeiterin: In der untersten Kathegorie kann man RaucherZimmer bekommen wenn das Hotel voll ist. Habe dann ein Zimmer bekommen in dem die Heizung ausgefallen ist. Das dritte Zimmer war dann "ganz ok" obwohl es immernoch nicht Warm war. Ich hätte am liebsten Storniert, die Mitarbeiterin durfte dies aber nicht kostenfrei durchführen. Das Hotel ist Uralt, die Teppiche dreckig. War das letzte mal das ich dort übernachtet habe.

Hotel was in die Jahre gekommen ist. Ausstattungen 70 Jahre Style genauso der Teppich. Übergardinen am Rand eingerissen. Im Badezimmer Dreck in den Ecken. Wasserhahn defekt. An dem Tag Probleme mit dem Fernsehprogramm In der Lobby war eine Blaue Folie an der Decke wahrscheinlich ein Schaden der verdeckt wurde. Ich übernachte in regelmäßigen Abständen von 14 Tagen in NRW aber das Hotel schlägt alles im negativen Sinn.

Nice enough, very average. Is a bit tired decor and could do with a refresh, but that didnt really bother me - it was also cheap. Only minor issue was it happened to be 30 degrees in Essen and the hotel doesnt have air conditioning, so it was a bit warm overnight.

Etwas alt und in die Jahre gekommen, allerdings Modernisierung/ Renovierung ab Mai bereits angekündigt. Sauber, freundlich und geräumig. Das Bett war etwas weich und nicht perfekt, ansonsten das Zimmer aber top. Ein Highlight war definitiv das Frühstücksbuffet mit viel Auswahl, welches liebevoll bis elegant angerichtet war und sehr aufmerksamen Mitarbeitern, die ständig alles kontrolliert und aufgefüllt haben.

Our room was next to a door that split the hallway. This door made a lot of noise when it closed. We were woken up multiple times in the night because of people opening and closing the door. Needs something so that the door closes more slowly/quietly. Windows weren't well insulated so lot of noise from outside as well. Breakfast area was not big enough for the amount of people. Was chaotic. Would not stay here again.

The heating on the room was to intense (in all hotel actually). Even shutting the termostat there was still hot air incoming. I asked the reception to fixe it but they couldn't. I had to sleep with an open window earing the trafic. There was a water escape from the WC. A waste (and a noisy one). To expensive and unconfortable.

Bett war zu klein , trotz Doppelzimmer Buchung , Teppich im Zimmer wirkt sehr veraltet , Möbel alles andere als modern und Teilweise defekt. Frühstücksauswahl war in Ordnung

Bra läge om man vill åka tunnelbana till mässan. Bra frukost och restaurang. Börjar bli lite slitet i korridorerna men rummen är fina. Vi återvänder varje år.

Super nettes Personal.

I forbindelse med Essen Motorshow som vi har vært på de siste 20 årene så har Holiday Inn vært det foretrukne hotell. Men lite har endret seg på disse årene og det begynner dessverre å bli litt slitt. Men rommene er store og helt greie. Frokosten er litt dyr i forhold til hva man får, men den er midt på treet. Service fra betjeningen er topp og ligger fint plassert midt i sentrum av Essen.

An sich ein schönes Hotel, mit einigen „aber“! Leider war das Hotelzimmer für nur eine Person fertig gemacht, obwohl es vor mehreren Wochen für 2 Personen reserviert und auch schon bezahlt wurde. Uns wurde dann mitgeteilt das aus ökologischen Gründen immer nur für einen Gast alles hergerichtet wird, völliger Schwachsinn, meines Erachtens! Wir haben gebeten alles für 2 Gäste fertig zu machen, was uns dann auch zugesichert wurde, und sind außer Haus. In der Nacht, als wir zurück kamen war natürlich nichts fertig gemacht! Wir hatten Glück und es gab einen Nachtportier, der uns dann wenigstens 2 Handtücher gab! Ein weiteres Bett lag im Schrank! Leider gab es dann auch noch Probleme beim Frühstück, da unsere Zimmernummer bereits gestrichen war. Die Mitarbeiterin konnte nicht wirklich deutsch und wird versehentlich die falsche Nummer abgestrichen haben, nach kurzer Diskussion bekamen wir dann aber unser Frühstück. Als Tipp für Reisende mit Auto, es gibt eine Handvoll Parkplätze, welche NICHT zu reservieren gehen, wir mussten in der Nacht noch auf Parkplatzsuche gehen! Kurz um, den Mitarbeitern ist es völlig egal was Ihre Gäste für „Sorgen“ oder Anmerkungen haben! Es steht ihnen ins Gesicht geschrieben „hör auf zu Labern und geh einfach“! Sehr schade!

Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Lage ist sehr gut.

Hotel péssimo, desde o atendimento que me fez esperar por mais de uma hora para entregar o quarto que deveria estar limpo, mas não estava, ainda deve muito barulho pela manhã com pessoas do hotel invadindo o apartamento muito cedo alegando coisas diversas, mas nada de importante, interrompendo meu sono. Acredito que não deveria ser esse o padrão dos Holidays mas vejo que agora passou a ser um hotel sem estrelas.

Chose the hotel due to its location good to U-Bahn (U11) Berliner Platz. Hotel instead was fine and the breakfast was a splendid choice of dishes. Room was large albeit slightly dated but in general was very clean and comfortable. Would I stay again, yes.

Prima ligging niet ver van station centrum Doch iet of wat afgeleefd gordojnen stuk Vloer op verschillende plaatsen beschadigd . Deuren afgebroken . Gemeld en geen reactie. service voor nieuwe glazen kopjes ondermaats . Bij aankomst "4" maal moeten vragen om afstandsbediening tv ..Ontbijt is eenvoudig basic maar prima ok
