As I began contacting Expedia to resolve the issue, he appeared visibly impatient, occasionally sighing audibly during the process. After more than half an hour of investigation, Expedia confirmed that the reservation was indeed in the hotel's system, which was experiencing a technical glitch. Despite this delay and the fact that the issue was on the hotel's side, the receptionist did not offer an apology. This was a disappointing experience, and I hope it can be addressed to improve the guest experience in the future.
