This is cheap, but a good hotel which locates good place. However, service and devices are very poor. For example, no mini-bar and refrigerator in the room, but, space for mini-bar existed. Perhaps, due to expsensive electricity bill . I asked to provide ice，but, staff simply said "NO". Very bad service.

the hotel gym and pool were closed for years. My room was big, but had water drops from ceiling leakage issues. The hotel needs proper refurbishment everywhere!

We stayed at Merdaka for 7 nights and the stay was alright. The first 2 nights was given the road facing room and the windows were not sound proof. Complained about it and the staff was accommodating and changed my room. The hotel is a very old one and not very well maintained. The sheets had stains and bathrooms were old and moldy. The only positive is the staff there are very helpful and polite.
