I went there expecting to play with my son in the pool, but it is under renovation. The staff said it was our fault because it is on the website, but it is not even clear where it is written. Furthermore, the way they explained the situation was very unpleasant. At least the main pool is under renovation, so until that is done, I would prefer another hotel. Breakfast is excellent. The hotel is large and there is a buggy pickup service, but it takes at least 15 minutes for it to come even if you call it. The beach is wide and very beautiful. Also very close to every room.

An absolutely beautifully set spa resort, right on the beach front and so near all the local amenities. We had 2 rooms connected to eachother with balconies overlooking one out of the two lakes the property has. The rooms are set as wooden chalets with all the facilities you would have in a moden style hotel. The property has beautiful grounds which makes walking around the grounds a joy. Rooms were cleaned regularly with a change of towels and water bottles top-up. We had a choice of American breakfast or asian style breakfast both set in 2 separate restaurants on the property with plenty of different choices from omelettes, breads, pastries, pancakes, waffles, fresh juices, fresh fruits, local dishes and much much more with a large spread of variety. The area the property is set is amazing, with water sports set at the beach jet skiing, parasailing, banana boat and more. There were different restaurants, bars, shopping and lots of different things to do. Me and my partner had afew different treatments at the spa with very professional staff and a beautiful atmosphere. There are 2 pools whoch have the kids pool play area with slides and water features. We had an amazing time at this property and would definitely return and recommend to others.

Nice complex with well tendered gardens and nice rooms. Pool area was undergoing restoration. So compromised experience. Also meant some of the restaurants with views were closed. Second pool was large and enjoyable. Breakfast was also manic. Plenty of sunbeds around. Beach pool bar was small but nice. Beach was white sand and relatively empty. Main public beach was fun in the evenings. Best bars were on the beach. No worthwhile bars along the main strip. Local restaurant quality wasn’t great. More street fare. Chinese food restaurants were better quality and cleanliness than the Malay ones. Unnecessary amount of jet skis for hire on the public beach. No paddleboards or kayaks for gentler enjoyment. Nighttime fire shows on the beach (free) were great. Booked “Island view” resort accommodation. Room overlooked the beach. View was terrible. Changed up to sea view. They have placed a 200m long 2m dia sandbag along the seashore edge on the island view stretch of shore to stop the sand washing away. An eyesore and you can’t go in the sea. No commentary on this in the brochure. A real disappointment. Resort was like stepping back in time. Cabs were great. “Grab” taxis everywhere. Get one from the airport only £5. Grab to cable car also cheap and lots available for return journey. Cab office at airport was super-expensive and charged £25 for the 10-minute ride.

Pelagi resort is an excellent choice for Langkawi. The position in front of the beach and the proximity to Cenang’s activities.Room, pools, gym and general communal areas are great. Staff is impeccable- polite and efficient. Food is very good but not amazing though although breakfast buffet is extensive in variety. Definitely we would come back should we visit Langkawi again.

Our stay at Pelangi Resort was fantastic! The room was exceptionally clean and had a wonderfully relaxing vibe. The resort is conveniently located right next to the beach, which made it easy for my kids and me to enjoy swimming and unwind by the pool. We also appreciated their 24-hour buggy service—it was super convenient and made getting around the resort effortless. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time!

Been a Pelangi 3x now. With the new pool and newly renovated rooms, simply perfect. Glad they have a tennis court although the court needs resurfacing / washing. Last year I brought 8 of my family. Tgey love it. Will be back again.

We had a wonderful six days stay at the Pelangi resort. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. Two restaurants for breakfast. Good variety of different Malay and western cuisine. Pools are nice. Gym is fairly new and the view is fabulous. Endless white sand beach is perfect for sun set walk. Very close to all other restaurants outside of the resort. Highly recommended.

Overall a good stay. The location, pool, facilities at the resort, room (after the change) and staff at the front desk and coffee shop were great. Beach access is a big positive. Couple of things which were big let downs - 1. Our first room had red ants. We had to make multiple requests to change the room. This should have been given utmost priority especially as we were with a toddler but it took the staff a video and pictures of the room and multiple requests for them to act. Not sure if this is to do with the staff or the internal policies. 2. Some of the staff members at the Asian restaurant really need to be trained. They are rude, unprofessional and totally unaware of how to behave with the customers. Thank god for the other staff members who compensated for the other lot. Yousuf and a lady (forgeting her name) at this place were awesome - smiling and ready to help as and when required.

Vi ankom kl 14 og værelset var ikke klar, men ok for check in er kl 15. Vi blev tilbudt en lille kold klud og lidt væske. Da klokken var 15.10 måtte vi selv henvende os vedr. værelset. Vi havde bestilt overnatning for 1 nat og fik et værelse på første sal med udsigt til en dam. Værelset og bad var en fin størrelse med sofa og lille spisebord. Sengen er stor, men uden videre fjedre, så den er hård. Der er postevand på værelset uden beregning og et køleskab med et lille og dyrt udvalg af øvrige drikkevarer. Information er ikke let tilgængelig, som på andre hoteller. Der er ikke en samlet information på værelset, så vi brugte noget tid på at finde ud af om der var wifi, check ud tider, spa menu, åbningstider i restaurant o.s.v. Der er plads til forbedringer og personalet kunne godt oppe sig på service. Jeg tænker, at der er plads til nye tanker omkring poolområde. Det er fint, at man har tilkald af service på liggestole, men når der ikke hænger et menukort med noget man kan vælge, så er det lidt ligegyldigt. Der kunne optimeres på mersalg. En anden optimering kunne være at lave den ene pool til adults only. Det ville helt sikkert trække flere voksne til. Der er pool plads nok til børnefamilier. Stranden er dårlig og intet alternativ. Alt ovenstående er ikke årsagen til de få stjerner. Det er hovedsageligt rengøringen. Det var beskidt af gammelt snavs. Receptionen reagerede kun med et sorrry. Vi havde trods alt betalt 2200 dkk for værelset, så noget kunne de have gjort.

1st day of arrival it rained in the middle of the night. We woke up and saw the table with our items on were all wet because there was a leak in the roof. Contact front desk and the Duty Manager said they will do something about it, but it never rained as heavily again throughout our stay so we wouldn't know if it got fixed (or the DM actually held the rain back). 3rd day of stay, after the gym session and breakfast, headed back for a shower and found there's no water. Same, contacted front desk... and then we got water... albeit started off brown till clear water was received. Took about an hour. There's also no shelter path from the carpark (we rented a car) to the main lobby, so 1st 2 days we got soaked trying to get back to the room when it rained. Other than that... We only had breakfast included so it was pretty normal, both the asian and western options, and each and some of the other... But lack of control meant other guests could walk in on their own, and we have several times where people would sit at our table even after we had left our drinks and food on it to show there's people sitting. And of cos we understand guests cannot be controlled where they'll push their prams and use the same hands to grab the food without using the tongs or spatulas... Shower space is large with bathtub, and the changing area is attached to the shower area which is a nice touch.

Pelangi was a great stay. The amenities eg the pool was fantastic. I didn’t enjoy the food that much and I also thought that some of the areas needed some maintenance. I had to be asked to be moved to a different room as my air conditioning wasn’t working. A lot of the walls were patched up. My shower kept turning off sometimes. It would also be good to offer more daily free events. Yoga is only done twice a week. As a guest you pay a lot of money to stay here and the value isn’t as great as places in Bali

Our room in block 6 was at the back of the back of the main road, fairly noisy at times. Refurbished rooms are an improvement, however the TV was very old and the grainy picture was hard to watch. No facewashers and no towel rails in the bathroom.

Pelangi Resort consists of a beautiful main building and several buildings with one or more hotel rooms in them. Ours had 8. We stayed at the first (top) floor with a view of the lake and standing on the balcony, which was spacious, we could see the sea and beach between the other buildings. Staff were very friendly and forthcoming. The place is clean. There are three restaurants. Due to our family's preferences we chose to eat the most at the grill - with Western food. The cooks aren't too schooled in this, so don't expect the highest quality. The Asian restaurant was far better but a bit too spicy for our untrained tastebuds. The pools are very nice and fun for kids. The private beach is beautiful. We absolutely loved staying here.

Overall, the stay was great. However, there are some key points that were not mentioned to us before booking. One is that there is very loud and inconvenient renovations happening in the heart of the resort which made the stay quite uncomfortable since the lobby and the breakfast was facing directly at it. And second which matters quite a bit was that there was an ant problem near the kettle and light switch area which was resolved eventually but it took some time to get the staff to come and exterminate the problem, over 1.5 hrs to be exact. Last but not least, the walls and floors are paper thin. This applies to everywhere around the resort including breakfast time. You hear every creek and cough and sneeze, as well as animals barking and screaming in the middle of the night. As well as planes flying on top of your room. I know this is beyond the resorts capacity to fix, but they could’ve invested in thicker walls. Overall, good.

For starters, it is a fantastic family-friendly resort and from the moment you drive through the entrance you can immediately tell why it is considered a 5-star hotel. The ambience, the look and the atmosphere are all top-notch. The rooms and grounds are spotless. We stayed in a king bed room and it was huge and very well designed. Plenty of space of our belongings and more! The pool area is perfect for both kids and adults and we loved they had a mini kid's waterpark in the kids pool! The dining options are excellent and caters for every need. The staff deliver exceptional customer service, making our stay feel special. Its beachfront location and close proximity to the international airport make it incredibly convenient. Overall we felt like we were on an amazing holiday. Highly recommend!

Beautiful sea view room. Great location within walking distance to the town. 15 minutes from the airport which we were concerned at first about as we hardly noticed the planes flying over. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that we arrived at midday and check in is at 3pm however the hotel should note the flight times and perhaps prioritise the rooms for their arrivals. We did have chase if our room was ready after 3pm so it was a long time to be sitting around in the heat. This would not detract us from using the hotel again as we fully enjoyed our stay.

The service was extremely horrdenous. I was there from late December to New Year's, fully intending to celebrate my new year's eve there. We were given 2 super singles that formed a "Queen Sized bed" even when we specifically requested for a Queen Sized Bed in our booking only to be told in the end that they had none left when they could have made it clear to us that there were none in the first place and we would have explicitly cancelled. Extremely unprofressional, the New Year's Gala Dinner was also extremely poorly executed, with dark scallops that had the taste of sand and iron in them. I would absolutely not frequent this property again. The facilities might look nice but the attention to detail by the staff overshadows everything else.

Fantastic stay. Staff have excellent customer service skills, we were greeted with a personalised check in, welcome drink, no queuing. All staff, without exception, from the start to the end of our stay, were friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely overlooking one of the lakes, comfy bed and Rituals toiletries, with bathtub and wet room, and a generous sized balcony to enjoy the view with a tea or a coffee in the morning. The property is immaculately maintained, beautiful gardens and clean, like-new swimming pools. The food was also faultless- European or Asian options in the two restaurants do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and (really good, espresso Cimbali machines) coffee available anytime. I would stay with them again. The only downside is the nearby local beach (Cenang) is not clean or pretty, but for a 20’ ride you can go anywhere in the island - Tanjung Rhu is stunning. Recommended!

Dinner menus were limited, portion size was small and very little vegetables on most meals. Breakfast was very good Service response to requests were slow. It took more than an1.5 hours and two phone calls to get a replacement cup when a cleaner removed one. A request for a larger cup was rejected without adequate reason. Staff were very friendly.

Actually Everything was good but when I check out, unhappy things happened. We called a buggy to pick up our luggage for check out . On the way to the reception, I have conversation with the driver . He told me that usually the western people won’t order buggy coz they prefer to walk but he said Asian usually will order buggy because they want to give him lots of work . I think this is unprofessional at all . This is not a right way to talk to your customer . I’ve book 3 room for my family and of course we have lots of luggage. This hotel include buggy service and what is the problem if we order buggy when we need it . Also , Every time we order buggy, we tip them . After hearing what he said, I was so angry . He definitely ruin our day .

The Goodies: property location was within walking distance to the main Cenang central. 2 great swimming pools to cater for all visitors. Ground staff and buggies were very helpful. The Bad: Our check in experience wasn't the best. We emailed the property couple of weeks in advance to let them know about our early arrival and they aknowledged the request with the possibility for early check in. When we arrived at 11am, they informed us that it can't be any earlier that 12pm. However 2pm came and we asked again, then 3pm came and no sign of room avaibility. That was the most inconvenient check in in our entire travellling experience. You would think they would prioritize the room since the check out is at 12pm. Overall, good place to stay with lot of facilities, but be mindful that this place doesn't know to prioritize!!

Check-in was a total joke. We sat there for an hour (after check-in time) waiting for them to sort passports and paperwork and had to chase constantly. Even when it got done the guy then said we have an issues with your room so it will take 5 minutes. 1 hour later still nothing so went to speak to manager who said room not cleaned yet so need to wait - I kicked up a fuss and manager came out and assigned a room straight away so turn off right from start. Room was fine - a little dated. Hotel is far too big but we knew that before so that’s on us. Breakfast was pretty good I would choose the hotel next door - Casa del Mar (it was already fully booked for our dates but definitely stay there instead - better location too).

We had a great 5 night stay. Our room was had an island view with balcony where we could sit and watch the sunset. We used the large cascade pool (the other pool was more for families) which was great. Breakfast was very good with lots of options and two locations to choose from. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is a short taxi/Grab ride to the airport and it was easy to walk into town either along the beach or the road.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen, obwohl man anmerken muss, dass der Westteil des Hotels an unansehlichen Wellenbrechern und Sandsäcken liegt. Der Ostteil hat einen schönen Strand und liegt weit genug vom Trubel entfernt- je weiter man nach Osten geht, desto schrecklicher wird der Strand mit 40 Jetskis, Parasailing, Bananaboattours und lauten bars. Ab Januar gibt es giftige Quallen in der trüben Bucht. Im Hotel ist internationales Publikum mit einem Übergewicht an ebensolchen Russen…schöne Zimmer - zt direkt am Strand. Essenngut, aber teuer.

Overall it was a really lovely place to stay. Couple of things - the check in is ridiculous. We waited over an hour and a half to get our room. I can see they wanted to take you in comfort in a golf buggy to your room but it wasn't needed and I would rather go to my room and luggage arrive later. In fact the site of fit and well people requesting buggies to be transported around the site was a big surprise to me. They all appeared to have legs - maybe I'm just not lazy. The only other thing was the service - super friendly and everyone seemed to want to help but on occasion was ruined by inefficiency. An example was a lovely meal we had that the starter we were going to have arrived with the main course - it detracted from food cooked by a chef that was clearly very good. Overall would definitely recommend coming as the bits mentioned did not ruin the holiday at all.

Beautiful sea view room. Great location within walking distance to the town. 15 minutes from the airport which we were concerned at first about as we hardly noticed the planes flying over. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that we arrived at midday and check in is at 3pm however the hotel should note the flight times and perhaps prioritise the rooms for their arrivals. We did have chase if our room was ready after 3pm so it was a long time to be sitting around in the heat. This would not detract us from using the hotel again as we fully enjoyed our stay.

Pelangi was a great stay. The amenities eg the pool was fantastic. I didn’t enjoy the food that much and I also thought that some of the areas needed some maintenance. I had to be asked to be moved to a different room as my air conditioning wasn’t working. A lot of the walls were patched up. My shower kept turning off sometimes. It would also be good to offer more daily free events. Yoga is only done twice a week. As a guest you pay a lot of money to stay here and the value isn’t as great as places in Bali

Tycker inte linoleumgolv i rummen hör hemma på ett 5 stjärnigt hotell, förbättra språkkunskaperna hos personalen, förbättra frukosten samt utveckla servicen. Gym, spa, poolerna, a la carte restaurangen, läget och stranden var bra. Minska inslaget av ryssar ty de är stökiga, högljudda och stör övriga turister.

Beautiful beach. The pool area is very nice. We had a lovely relaxing stay. Pros: nice helpful staff, comfortable nice room with a great view of the ocean, fabulous breakfast buffet. The concierge were very helpful booking activities. Cons: isolated property with no place to eat off property. The restaurants aren’t good especially the Spice Market. We had mixed luck with the Grill. One night was great and the next was poor service and food was just ok. Overall we enjoyed our time there. Hopefully they will up their game for the restaurants.

I love the traditional Malay house accommodation in beautiful gardens, although it is a little tired in parts. They are starting a refurb programme - though we were sad to see that they had changed the lobby from the original Malay long house to a bland lobby that looked like Starbucks. The staff are amazing - efficient and friendly. No alcohol served in the main restaurant! We had to perch in the corner of the lobby - not what I envisaged - so we didnt bother eating there again. The breakfasts were great. The beach restaurant - now being refurbed - definitely needed it. Generally there is not enough shade to deal with the 36degree heat - and not enough beds. The pool had small parasols that were next to useless - you had to keep moving the beds or the brolly to stay within the shade. Our flight was an evening flight - they let us keep the room until 1 but then the only 'courtesy' facility was a cold shower in the toilets by one of the pools - no toiletries- not even a hook for the pool towel. Their excuse was covid - doesnt justify that - not sure that its a 4/5 star hotel. Lots of signs saying what you cant do - think they should focus more on their guests and providing them with the things they need to have a comfortable/ pleasurable stay.

Fantastic stay. Staff have excellent customer service skills, we were greeted with a personalised check in, welcome drink, no queuing. All staff, without exception, from the start to the end of our stay, were friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely overlooking one of the lakes, comfy bed and Rituals toiletries, with bathtub and wet room, and a generous sized balcony to enjoy the view with a tea or a coffee in the morning. The property is immaculately maintained, beautiful gardens and clean, like-new swimming pools. The food was also faultless- European or Asian options in the two restaurants do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and (really good, espresso Cimbali machines) coffee available anytime. I would stay with them again. The only downside is the nearby local beach (Cenang) is not clean or pretty, but for a 20’ ride you can go anywhere in the island - Tanjung Rhu is stunning. Recommended!

Dinner menus were limited, portion size was small and very little vegetables on most meals. Breakfast was very good Service response to requests were slow. It took more than an1.5 hours and two phone calls to get a replacement cup when a cleaner removed one. A request for a larger cup was rejected without adequate reason. Staff were very friendly.

Returned for my 4th visit after a 5 year break due to Malaysia being closed to foreign tourists. The hotel has been extensively renovated during the lockdowm so we spent much more time by the pool and the rooms were great. Miss the vibe of the Cba beach bar. The pelangi grill feels more like a restaurant than a bar. Stayed for 3 nights and noticed the buffets were smaller than before covid and the options were fairly consistent for the 3 nights we were there. Would have liked more variety and missed the Malaysian sweets and dishes and vegan options that we enjoyed in 2020. As on our previous visits the staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would love to return for a longer stay next year

This was a fantastic resort - highly recommend. We were beachfront so close to all amenities and restaurants/bars in the evening. A couple of areas for improvement. The bed for the third person in our party was very uncomfortable and at times the service in Pelangi Grill could have been better. Other than that, a fantastic stay.
