Hotel Chrome Montreal Centre-Ville

The property is currently under renovation and it would be nice if the website is updated as well (e.g. restaurant on site in currently unavailable).

Rooms were great but parking has no elevator to the main lobby. Hard to get your suite cases up the stairs.

No bar or restaurant in hotel. Renovations are being done and outside the room window at 6 am they started beating with a hammer. You have to park off site and walk about 6 min. back to the hotel but they forget to tell you that you have to enter to get your vehicle at another building down the street and then try to find your way to the parking garage. Not a good experience. But clean and room was spacious. You get what you pay for!!!

Staff is great. Room dated and furniture was well worn. Hotel restaurant/bar been closed for over a year.

Underground parking is very convienient.

There was construction that woke us up at 7am, which wasn't mentioned at check in. Location was great. Easy to walk everywhere. Bed was comfortable, room was fine. Parking lot was full so we had to park a couple blocks away. I would stay here again if in Montreal.

No bar or restaurant. Elevator was decaying. The cabinets were messed up and never fixed. But the bed and other stuff was good. Good for an average solo trip stay. Hope it stays cheap.

There are extensive renovations happening right now so many of the common spaces were closed. It was good for the value we paid and 15 min walk to old Montreal. No elevator to the parking area which made things harder esp with all the baggages that come with having a newborn.

Hallway smelt of urine. Room smelt of lemon pledge, then urine. Shower would not drain. Water pressure was hit or miss. Overall an absolutely terrible experience, i cut my 3 day trip short.

Mold on the walls in the bathroom. Hair in every towel that I used.

There are bed bugs.

Bed a little bit hard and bedsheets are not tacked as they using top sheet to bottom sheet. The airconditioning it's like you have a tractor inside your room You need a airplugs to fall sleep. There's nothing black curtains at the window definitely the sun shine straight in your eyes in the morning..

Good location - bus stop to the 747 bus to airport right out front. Walkable to old Montreal, Chinatown, etc. Room was average, A/C was very loud, coming on intermittently. Bring earplugs for that. Good tv, mini fridge. Good value for price.

Noisy heating system

I stayed in two different rooms due to a separate booking. Overall this hotel seems to be a bit old, but for staying for a night or two can be bearable. You get what you paid for, so no fancy stuff. But they had a nice fridge and a microwave. FYI, this hotel charges you CA200 for deposit per booking, and CA4 per baggage a day if you want them to keep before/after your stay. Wi-Fi was working, not super but adequately. The location was good. I could walk to all the major spots (the Basilica, Old Port, China Town, Eaton Shopping Center, Via Rails Station). The staff were a bit frank but helpful (especially the lady at the reception was nice and friendly). The first room that I was assigned had a carpet and a big sofa with fabric, which created a smell like someone had puked in the room and humid and unpleasant atmosphere, the closet’s slide door was coming off and one of the side lamps beside the bed couldn’t be switched on. The bedsheets and towels look clean, which was the relief of the night. The second room was with flooring instead of carpets, which was way better with no strange smell or humidity. Unfortunately, I saw some hairs on the shower towel, and one of the bed lamps was not working again (maybe there’s no electricity running on that side since it’s the same side..?). However, the rest was fine and felt better than the first room. To sum up, I’m not sure if I would choose here again, but at least here would be better than staying cold outside.

The heating couldn’t be controlled. I lowered it down at 65F degrees and the device was still pushing heated air in the room. I had to turn it off but the room temperature came back later to be as cold as it was when I’ve got into the room first. Did not sleep well and the corridors were noisy as people were allowed to gather and talk loudly. I did not complain, since it was x-mas eve.

The standard room with two beds is a lot smaller than the standard room with one bed (which I usually book). I wasn't expecting that.

Budget hotel that could use repairs. Things have dents and scratches showing its wear. Housekeeping is coming to your room only every 3 days which caught us off guard. Lots of construction in the area so noise of the big city is there. Was good to have fridge and microwave. Bathroom had only a shower with a strange spout from where it used to be bath. Functioned ok. Location is the reason we picked it and it is worked great that way. Very walkable - across the street from CHUM hospital, 5 min to 2 different Metro lines and St Catherine’s street, 10min to the City Hall and 12-15 minutes to the St Paul’s Street and the Old Port.

One of my go-to places to stay in Montreal. Pros: location, location, LOCATION!! One block from all the restaurants, entertainment, metro stations! Very comfy clean beds and nice staff. Cons: This hotel is quite cosmetic run down, this particular room had bad water stain wall, old loud a/c unit, and the bathroom door wouldn't close properly. Overalll outstanding value for a basic hotel.

I think the only thing going for this hotel is its location. The room is small and old, only one charging spot in the room and it's far away from the bed. The washroom is clean and there are enough clean towels but it only have a 3-in-1 wash. If you need a place to camp for the night. You got it.

The night staff at the reception is really good. However, the morning male staff named Angel’s customer service was so bad. He called me and started arguing with me about some hidden charges which was a case of misinformation and miscommunication between the staff itself. However, he started blaming me for it without even talking to the night staff. He wasn’t ready to listen to what i was saying and wouldn’t let me even finish and started yelling at me for no reason. Then when i asked him to talk to the manager, he told me i could only talk to the manager on monday and still have to pay the extra charges which i wasn’t told about. Then i suggested he talks to the previous night staff about the confusion and he hung up on me so rudely without even apologizing for his behaviour. He ruined my whole stay and my mood for the day and didn’t even bother apologizing for it.

Nice enough hotel. Felt safe inside. Close to a grocery store and pharmacy. It’s older, but the room was clean, it was more of a suite with a tv room and separate bedroom. The bathroom was recently renovated. It’s right on Rene Levesque Blvd, so there’s a lot of road noise. It was great for a night’s stay. Check in is 4pm, they charge $4/bag to store luggage. It was convenient for us, so we did. It’s just a block off St. Catherine and about a 5 or 10min walk from Old Montreal. We were happy with it.

Hotel is well located, staff is very helpful. Room is decent. It is downtown Montreal and very walkable. Very enjoyable stay/ I will be back.

Room was in good condition, smelt overwhelmingly like pinesol. Esp ially for only having like 15 tiles and rhe rest is carpeted. Reception was a mightmare. Tje receptionist was cold and didnt listen to my answers. Kept asking me for the credit card and o kept repeating i dont have the one on file. they should update their google photos to reflect on how it really looks. Not the best part of town to stay in to start with so lots of sirens, no restaurant open. Elevators to be taken at your own risk. Chrome it certainly was. Gold it was not.

Personnel arrogant. Check in à 16 hrs non flexible. Ils ont attendu l'heure exacte pour faire le check-in ce qui a causé un temps d'attente pour tout le monde.

The hotel was in walking distance to old Montreal.

Close to shopping, transit, restaurant. Not a palace but has comfy beds and is clean. There was some construction around the hotel but Montreal has construction everywhere and we did not find it bothersome. I travel often and would recommend this hotel as a value option.

This hotel is located within walking distance of many places (I do walk a lot so that should be considered). About 10 minute walk to old port, older montreal, university area, etc. variety of food places from reasonable to fine dining. the beds were comfortable and had plenty of room. Do be careful in the shower, test the water. this is the hotest water I have ever had at a hotel. The staff was friendly and I always felt safe. There is a grocery store up the street, we picked up pastry and milk for breakfast. the room has a refrigerator so this was very convenient and affordable way to start the day. I would recommend if you are looking for a well located place to stay. Note there is no restaurant at the property so if you are interested in room service or eating/drinking at the hotel, this is not available in the hotel, it is a short walk away. As we found in other parts of Canada during this trip the cleaning service is every three days. We were fine with this, but if you like your room cleaned and freshened daily then this will be one of the places you should avoid. If I wanted to go back to montreal I would be very comfortable staying here again.

Good location. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Hotel policy is to only make up the room every 3 days. There is a sign in the lobby about this but we didn't notice it and thought we'd been missed. Would be helpful to advise guests at check in of this policy. They will provide fresh towels on request if needed.

Great location. In front of bus 747 from YUL. 2 blocks from China Town. Lots of great restaurants. 10 minutes walk to Metro station. Very convenient to everywhere

The beds were clean and comfortable and has a mini fridge. No ice available and no coffee machine in room. No breakfast available-just coffee. It is very outdated, air conditioner is old/dirty and ceiling above was covered in a black exhaust like dust. Staff were very nice. I found it expensive for getting bare minimum amenities.

Check in was 1600, which is very inconvenient, & a bit of a rip off, in my opinion. There was even a charge to store our luggage until check in. The restaurant on the facility has been closed forever. The rooms are old, but fairly clean. I even had trouble getting additional coffee for room. We had 2 single servings . It turned out to be terrible anyways. The location of motel is only positive thing. We won’t be returning.

It was fine. The rooms were clean, staff friendly. The restaurant is under renovation, and there's construction outside but overall it was fine.

The location of the hotel was ideal for what we were looking to do while in the city. The room itself was okay, a little outdated, and nothing like the pictures shown. The restaurant was closed also with no prior notice of that. And the times to clean the room(after three days) was at 5pm. More then one set of towel would have also been ideal.

Overall, it was OKAY at best. Room was clean, although the overall cleanliness of the hotel def was lacking, the elevators were hella weird and sketchy and AC stayed on all night even tho it’s literally freezing outside lol no adjustments or anything available.. anyways, staff was kinda off Standish, but not rude. Asked a simple question about a ride and was stared at like I was an alien. The bar/dining area is shut down for “construction” even tho there’s nothing in there to suggest such. I’d stay again simply cause it was pretty well priced for the location. Definitely a lot left to be desired but wasn’t “bad” at all, it was extremely average.
