Think this is the cheapest airport I've ever used. At only £50 for the night and £35 for 8 days parking it was excellent value. And they have a happy hour at the bar think 4 till 7.

Only one bath towel in a double room. No hot/cold indicators on bathroom taps. No shower gel. £7 for WiFi for 24 hr access , this should really be free as check in 4pm and checkout 10am. Signage from airport to hotel not great when it's dark. Plus point proximity to airport.

Facilities were fine food was fine parking a tight squeeze but appreciate its a busy hotel staff were very helpfull but the most dissapointment was the bed which was not confortable and every turn you made whether just sitting on it or lying down made more noise than an orchestra i think it must have been older than the hotel building and spoilt our sleep

Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't seem to have been redecorated since it was built. It is old fashioned with tired decor. Our room felt dingy and unclean, and on closer inspection, it was unclean. The bathroom floor had hair on it, and under the bed, there was a hat and a hairband, so that obviously hadn't been properly cleaned. The bathroom door was grubby where lots of people had touched it. Because the decor is so dated it just feels unclean to the point where we didn't really want to touch anything and we didn't take our shoes off when walking around. It made me doubt how clean the bedding and towels were. We stayed the night before an early flight and it was a really disappointing start to our holiday. It was the same price as the Premier Inn, but even if it was a lot cheaper, we wouldn't stay again. On the plus side, the check in staff were lovely and friendly.

Staff pleasant enough although couldn’t get a late check out was tolled they were to busy and couldn’t accommodate it .. lounge and food was ok although had to go looking for the bar staff on a few occasions… THE ROOM was very basic tv remote didn’t work/ kettle dirty / and the bedding was an absolute disgrace.. thread bearing holes on the duvet cover / urine stains on the mattress protector and mattress toppers also crisp crumbs and hairs on the mattress protector absolutely disgusting Britannia need to seriously sort there cleaning staff as this was unacceptable room 233

Best part of this hotel was how close it was to the airport. Be aware you have to pay for parking and when I arrived it was very full and I had to park all the way around the back of the hotel. Bed was clean and comfortable- great. Clean fluffy towels Bathroom was very tired; some mould on the walls too.

This hotel is old, worn and smells of damp. The room was dated and the bathroom was old, damaged and needs refurbished. The double bed was very uncomfortable, as were the lumpy pillows. The bedding & towels were the clean, plenty hot water. We arrived early evening, left at 4am having managed little sleep due to noisy corridors and lack of soundproofing from other guests. Didn’t pay a lot so shouldn’t expect a lot . I don’t imagine anyone from Expedia has ever stayed here. If they had, it might not have gone on their website.

Hotel is keenly priced and was the cheapest (and the only one available) on airport hotel at the time of my booking. This is reflected in the condition of the hotel and the level of service. Staff were generally friendly and polite and were keen to help. The hotel is tired and my room was clean apart from the shower head which was moldy. The room was quiet and comfortable. I had dinner at the bar and the food was good. Cleanliness of the table, etc. was poor. Staff didn't seem interested in clearing tables and wiping down. Breakfast, food was average with a reasonable selection. Cleanliness of the tables, etc. was good at breakfast. Overal not a bad hotel for its pricing.

Good location for the airport, but in dire need of a spruce up. Interior is very worn down. Worst thing about the hotel is how noisy it is. I got woken up often by doors slamming (a mix of inconsiderate people and poor door design) and elephants wandering round on the floor above. The single beds are also tiny. You feel like youre going to fall out all night. Wouldn't want to stay there more than a night.

Ok for a night, but not as nice as the Hilton across the road if the budget stretches that far. Clean, but shabby. I was in an accessible room (I'm not disabled) and wouldnt have liked to try and get a wheelchair or two in there - it was a tight fit for one person without a disability. Staff nice and welcoming. Noisy hotel. You can hear the tv of your neighbour fairly loudly and doors slamming through the night. I had a fan on which drowned most of it out, but it depends how light a sleeper you are.

we had booked to stay arriving just midnight early on 7th March after a holiday in Madeira only to be told that Britannia was over booked and we were taxied to another hotel. As we are both well over 80 years old we found this very stressful. we were not the only people to be affected. We stayed on our outward journey which was fine. No compensation was offered

Never actually got to stay here as I attempted to check in at midnight and was told the hotel had been overbooked and they had no rooms available. This is not an acceptable state of affairs for an airport hotel where exhausted travellers will be arriving late in the day after many hours of travel. In the end the hotel arranged a taxi for me and I was placed in another hotel five miles away. Be mindful if you choose to book a room with Britannia Hotel your room is not guaranteed.

Never actually got to stay here as I attempted to check in at midnight and was told the hotel had been overbooked and they had no rooms available. This is not an acceptable state of affairs for an airport hotel where exhausted travellers will be arriving late in the day after many hours of travel. Staff were quite abrupt at reception and bar.On arrival we were not advised that we needed to book for dinner then and when we tried to go to restaurant which was only 1/2 full around 6.15 we were told we would not get in until 7.45pm but we could get food at the bar.Burgers and chips were very average.

I needed a room for disabled access on the ground following surgery issues and done there and then. Extra pillows given for my legs. Young man at reception was an absolute diamond and did anything to help and make my stay as comfortable as possible. Amazing customer service.

There was no one at the reception to check me in for over 15 minutes and the receptionist finally came she was very rude, not even a single word of apology for keep us waiting

Clean, quiet, comfortable airport hotel. Ideally situated on airport site just a two minute walk across carpark to terminal via walkway making it ideal for an early flight without the hassle of having to wait for shuttle bus or taxi.

We received a friendly and efficient welcome on arrival. The room was clean and had all we expected to find. For £39 you can't quibble. Excellent location for the airport.

Hotel is not out of the ordinary - a convenience for a flight that arrives after the car rental places are closed. But - the breakfast is really good!

The service from the two ladies on reception was excellent, they were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was showing its age, the beds were tired and the decor was worn. The bar meals were very tasty and reasonably priced. I wasnt expecting the parking charge so that was disapppointing. My back as aching due to the tired mattress.

Very personable, well priced, perfect for what we needed, a one night stay close to the airport. Nice, reasonably priced breakfast buffet. Highly recommend!

We ordered pasta for dinner and it truly was inedible. It was like tomato soup with Italian spice over noodle. At $15 per plate I asked to be compensated. Hotel refused. We did not eat it and had fries for dinner. Room was not good& we were uncomfortable to use shower. I would not stay here. Only positive is proximity to airport.

Hotel very tired and in need of maintenance. Lights not working in our room and very shabby. Young team of staff appeared to be overstretched. Food in the restaurant was awful-worst Sunday carvery I’ve ever had. Location ideal for easy access to the airport but Corporate Management need to invest money to bring it up to two/three star condition. It’s currently 0 star rating.

Staff were quite abrupt at reception and bar.On arrival we were not advised that we needed to book for dinner then and when we tried to go to restaurant which was only 1/2 full around 6.15 we were told we would not get in until 7.45pm but we could get food at the bar.Burgers and chips were very average.

Hotel is keenly priced and was the cheapest (and the only one available) on airport hotel at the time of my booking. This is reflected in the condition of the hotel and the level of service. Staff were generally friendly and polite and were keen to help. The hotel is tired and my room was clean apart from the shower head which was moldy. The room was quiet and comfortable. Depuis l’aéroport à pied, ce n’est pas du tout bien indiqué. En plus les chambres ne sont pas très propres, il y a de la poussière et il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude !

The rooms are well equipped for what you need, the bed was comfortable and clean and there’s a kettle with tea and coffee. There is a working TV with a good selection of channels and a nice clean bathroom. We stayed for one night before catching an early flight and had our tea in the bar. Food was good and the staff were lovely and friendly. The staff on arrival were lovely and welcoming and we were given a room on the 2nd floor which is accessible by lift as well as stairs. One member of staff in particular was incredible - Natalie. Once we’d landed in Crete we realised that my daughter’s elephant had not made the journey with us, I rang the hotel and Natalie went above and beyond to help us locate him. Once she had found him she facilitated a reunion and was even willing to get him posted somewhere for us. As luck would have it we had someone staying at the hotel a week later who could collect and bring him here, but during that week Natalie sent us emails and photos of Elephant enjoying his stay at the Britannia Hotel Newcastle Airport, which really helped when my daughter was asking for him! Thank you for a lovely stay and for the fantastic service after our departure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
