With the beach on one side and harbour on the other, this was a picturesque location. A fairly quiet area which was good. My room was a bit of a route march from the entrance but staff were great and i enjoyed my stay.

The view was lovely hotel needs a little TLC . The sofas in the bedrooms are really old they sink so far back my Mum could not get out of it without my help . Seating in the main areas are very low for old people . The food in the restaurant was good but the food at Haven was really good . Also the spa treatments at Haven hotel were really fabulous Ana did an amazing massage. Our room was a long long way from the lift my Mum is 92 a long way to walk we were after my asking shown another room but it was not as nice as the room we had .

Nice hotel right by the sea although it could use some renovation. At the moment of check in we were told that the spa is closed for the duration of our stay (2 days) for maintenance. Although we were told we could use spa facility in a sister hotel, which was some 5 mins car drive it was disappointing we were not informed of this in advance via email or telephone perhaps so we could plan our stay better. We were looking forward to use spa facilities particularly and booked our stay specifically at this hotel for that and even though I explained this to the male receptionist the hotel didn’t offer anything to compensate us in that regard which was disappointing

You can't beat the location of Sandbanks hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. I would not go into the swimming pool again as I found it very difficult to get in and out via the awful metal steps. As most of the guests were elderly I doubt if any of them would use the pool. The Haven pool is much safer with wide steps.

The room was spacious, well furnished and very clean. There is only one lift, that goes to the second floor only. There are stairs to the third floor. We had lengthy walks along long corridors to our room. We were offered help with luggage when we checked in, but declined it as we didn't realise what a trek it would be! My husband has reduced mobility, so a warning would have been useful. All staff were polite, friendly and otherwise helpful. The breakfast was very good, as was the evening meal in the Italian restaurant.

This hotel is located in an amazing location with Poole Harbour to one side and the sea to the other, both accessible from the hotel. The staff are polite and professional. The housekeeping is impressive. Although the building is looking a little tired, the ambience, staff members and service make up for it. Breakfast is as expected with variety on offer to cater to most dietary requirements. The dining/eating area could be made a little more attractive as the layout seems rather formal. However, the friendliness of the staff makes up for this. I’d definitely stay again.

The beach is absolutely gorgeous. Sitting having a drink on the back verandah was amazing. The outside shower needs fixing, it just sprays right up high into the air. The layout of the hotel was counter intuitive. Had a really kind receptionist help me order an uber. So grateful to her. :)

Lovely hotel in a prime position. View from the room was beautiful. We had a sea view and could see the sun rise from our bed. Breakfast in the restaurant was very nice with plenty of choice. We used the restaurant in the hotel which was an Italian. Although a little pricey, it was very nice. Room was cleaned daily and tea/coffee and biscuits replenished daily. We didn’t use the pool as it opened at 9:00 and we wanted an earlier swim. We were offered use of their sister hotel but didn’t use that. Not far from attractions such as Compton Acres and Poole Harbour for the ferry to Brownsea. All staff were friendly. I’d highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Stay was good and the breakfast was great with check in staff being vey helpful. The only real issue I had that put a dampener on the stay was when I first went into the room it absolutely stunk of s**t really bad. I can only put it down to one of the cleaners using the toilet after cleaning the room and not having the curtisy of opening the windows before leaving. I had to open the windows wide and spray the room and leave for 10 minutes. Not expected for such a nice hotel and paying good money for a stay.

The hotel enjoys an unbeatable beachfront position, easily the highlight of our stay, and the only reason to return for a stay in future. Unfortunately, the property itself feels firmly stuck in the 1970s, think old-school wooden desk genre, with tired décor throughout. It’s in serious need of modernisation. We stayed in a spacious family room with a sea view and balcony, which was a definite plus. However, cleanliness was lacking. We found a used Blistex lip balm on the floor, not ideal with a toddler around, and there were crumbs behind and beneath the sofa. Three lightbulbs in the room were either flickering or completely out and had to be replaced during our stay. At our request, the maintenance man also had to create a makeshift handle from a window lock for the minibar fridge, to prevent fingers from getting trapped when opening it. On the bright side, most of the staff were warm, helpful and accommodating. The exception was the breakfast team, who came across as rather joyless. For a hotel in this price bracket, especially when compared with international equivalents, the overall standard fell well short and is long overdue a full refurbishment. That said, the on-site restaurant ‘Pizza On The Beach’ was excellent, well worth a visit, even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

The food and dining area was good. The rooms and general areas are dated and smelled musty. The room was cold and we had to request an electric heater. No way was the heating going to be turned on even though all areas except diningg area was damp and cold.

The hotel is in need of major renovation! Damp smell and leaks everywhere, old unclean worn out furniture. I paid 220 for one night, was not worth it at all. I can’t understand how expedia can give 8 out of ten! Definitely not a four star. Staff were very nice. Overall very disappointed with our stay.

The hotel is right on the beach. We had a fantastic view of the sea from our room. Our room had everything we needed, although a little dusty in places. All in all a great stay.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, we had a lovely room with a huge balcony overlooking the beach. Unfortunately it’s a bit tired. Furnishings are past their best and water pressure in the bathroom is terrible. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Staff were excellent. Had to move rooms as ours was on the 3rd floor and we could hear noise from the pipes. The hotel is a bit tired in parts. A bit too SAGA holiday for us but generally our stay was pleasant.

Room size good, position amazing. Shower terrible! Not much more than a trickle and bathroom in dire need of refurb. Disappointing that taxi firm they recommend (and receptionist booked for us) charged us £75 for a 2 min trip to ferry then 5 min wait and 4 minute crossing. Reported to same receptionist and different one in morning, but no offer to take this up with taxi company for us.

Loved location. Shame one of windows was damaged and meant visibility was compromised. No aircon in this room. Only one restaurant ( Italian) with same menu for evening meal.

Had a lovely stay. Room looking over the harbour was lovely and big but no air conditioning so needed balcony door open all night. Bathroom clean and big but unfortunately only a very mediocre shower in a bath with a curtain which was clingy. Bed lovely and big and comfortable. View lovely. Walk to troon was quite difficult for my partner who uses a stick, but i suppose should have mentioned it. Lovely being right on the beach, sand and sea were just lovely. Bar prices for lunch and drinks were very expensive as was everything around the area, which we were expecting. The staff were all young and very helpful and polite. We didn’t use the restaurant so can’t say but breakfast was good. The whole hotel building itself did have a very tired feel about it, lots of things needed juzzshing up, but on the whole a very enjoyable stay.

Bar prices for lunch and drinks were very expensive as was everything around the area, which we were expecting. The staff were all young and very helpful and polite. We didn’t use the restaurant so can’t say but breakfast was good. The whole hotel building itself did have a very tired feel about it, lots of things needed juzzshing up, but on the whole a very enjoyable stay.

We visited Sandbanks hotel for the 1st time and I can honestly say the front of house was very welcoming. The staff very helpful & provided some recommendations for local bars & restaurants. We booked the large sea view double rooms , these are located on the 1st & 2nd with a full frontal view of the sea . The rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. Great location , great for couples & family . Will definitely recommend and will re visit .

Amazing position and the staff were all really lovely. But very disappointed in the initial room we were given. We paid for a balcony sea view, yet It had a 5ft black screen you had to look over to see the sea! My wife had to stand on a stool to see over😥 we had to complain to get the room changed to 2nd floor glass screen room which was worth the extra. They just need to be more honest a say sea view if stood on a stool for some of the rooms.

Room size good, position amazing. Shower terrible! Not much more than a trickle and bathroom in dire need of refurb. Disappointing that taxi firm they recommend (and receptionist booked for us) charged us £75 for a 2 min trip to ferry then 5 min wait and 4 minute crossing. Reported to same receptionist and different one in morning, but no offer to take this up with taxi company for us.

The hotel has a lovely setting right opposite a lovely beach but the building is a little tired. The reception staff is excellent but the opposite must be said for the staff in the main restaurant. We waited more than a hour for our starter, only to receive the wrong order. This was unfortunate as we were returning guests but will not be returning again.

We had a lovely 3 night break at Sandbanks Hotel, Poole to celebrate my husband’s birthday. This hotel is right on the beach, so suited our needs perfectly, We were given a lovely room overlooking the sea & right next to the lift (which made things easier for my mobility issues) The staff were most welcoming & friendly. We will be back.

We go every year and this year the service was poor as the bars closed when there was people wanting drinks on the terrace you get served pints in plastic glasses and more expensive than up the road in steins ! Breakfast finished at 9.45 and heat lamps turned off and then I usually take a coffee out on terrace after breakfast in a takeaway cup and was told manageress had told them to remove the take out cups … 2nd coffee machine out of order and that was out of order last year ! Disappointing overall

The housekeeping is impressive. Although the building is looking a little tired, the ambience, staff members and service make up for it. Breakfast is as expected with variety on offer to cater to most dietary requirements. The dining/eating area could be made a little more attractive as the layout seems rather formal. However, the friendliness of the staff makes up for this. I’d definitely stay again.

incredible Poor Qualtiy customer service. AVOID GOING HERE Provided by a the reservation supervisor horrible customer service. We booked at 5 pm and mixed up the date. we simpyl called back and asked them kindly to please move the date. I had my pregnant wife and kid with me and they were incredibly aweful and rude and did not show any customer service. i didnt ask for refund and simply asked to move the date and they were very unhelpful saying they money will be retained to cover the room and you can book again. I was on the phone for an hour the same day and they didn't care at all. Please avoid going here. this guy is awful. Never going to consider this horrible place again

With the beach on one side and harbour on the other, this was a picturesque location. A fairly quiet area which was good. My room was a bit of a route march from the entrance but staff were great and i enjoyed my stay.

You can't beat the location of Sandbanks hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. I would not go into the swimming pool again as I found it very difficult to get in and out via the awful metal steps. As most of the guests were elderly I doubt if any of them would use the pool. The Haven pool is much safer with wide steps.

A lovely relaxing stay. The hotel is located right on the beach with an out -door bar area where you can dine and look over the sea. My Room was very spacious and clean, the staff very friendly and atmoshere was relaxed. Brilliant breakfast, ! looking forward to returning and trying some water sports.

Lovely hotel in a prime position. View from the room was beautiful. We had a sea view and could see the sun rise from our bed. Breakfast in the restaurant was very nice with plenty of choice. We used the restaurant in the hotel which was an Italian. Although a little pricey, it was very nice. Room was cleaned daily and tea/coffee and biscuits replenished daily. We didn’t use the pool as it opened at 9:00 and we wanted an earlier swim. We were offered use of their sister hotel but didn’t use that. Not far from attractions such as Compton Acres and Poole Harbour for the ferry to Brownsea. All staff were friendly. I’d highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Enjoyed our stay at Sandbanks. Room was well equipped and spacious and right on beach Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice We don’t usually eat at the hotel we stay in but chose to eat in both nights during our stay. The Pizzas were excellent and our Italian met was also good

We had an amazing time, really enjoyed the breakfast with the sea view especially. I think what marred an otherwise perfect stay was when we were served burnt pizza on the beach, that put a dent in the experience for us.

Our room was in the newer part of the hotel, with a good size room and balcony overlooking the beach. A big bed, very firm and clean. Bathroom was a little dated and well worn, but clean. You can’t beat the location of this hotel, literally a couple of steps down from the terrace and you are on soft sandy beach with amazing views. We also used the pool, it’s small and again dated, but clean and has a lifeguard on duty during opening hours. Breakfast is a generous selection from buffet full English to continental pastries, fruit, yoghurt and the conveyor toasters! Sure to delight the kids. We also had their “pizza on the beach” cooked outside on the terrace until 5pm. There’s not a huge selection of places to eat within walking distance, so the catering here is popular and not horrendously priced. Absolutely recommend for a couple of days at the beach for families.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. There was an issue with the water pipes and there was a terrible drilling noise which woke us up at 7am but we ignored it on Saturday morning, thinking it will pass On Saturday at 10pm, I went to the reception to complain, and all I was advised is that they would send the maintenance team on the next day. They didn't offer to move us to another room and we couldn't sleep all night Absolutely terrible experience!

There was an issue with the water pipes and there was a terrible drilling noise which woke us up at 7am but we ignored it on Saturday morning, thinking it will pass On Saturday at 10pm, I went to the reception to complain, and all I was advised is that they would send the maintenance team on the next day. They didn't offer to move us to another room and we couldn't sleep all night Absolutely terrible experience!

Lovely hotel (which we’ve been to a few times now) Right on the lovely sandy beach m which is a big plus for us! Free parking available (but must remember to enter your registration at reception) Able to still use some Hotel facilities for the remainder of the day after 11am checkout. Friendly and polite staff throughout. Lift available Good choice of buffet breakfast & good choice of drinks at the bar. Upgraded to a larger room with living area - many thanks. Unfortunately couldn’t get the living room window to open, but staff were very amenable and supplied us with a fan & mini fridge (it was a particularly hot time) - again “thank you”. We will definitely be back soon.

The whole building needs a revamp, and some more aircon , All the staff were excellent, helpful, and courteous , could not fault them. Breakfast was great, the issue with ordering scrambled egg, was odd if not known about. Our room was good, tv had a fault but we were not thete that long, Hot at night we had to ask for a fan which was excellent and needed. There are no walking showers apparently, some could be fitted for the older gen. We will stay again as soon as we can. Outside kitchen and bar were the wonderful, staff were busy. Drinks were great, all variables available. Sandwiches as snacks were plentiful and tasty.
